Absolutely disgraceful estate agents.
My boyfriend rented a room in a shared house of theirs in Grimsby from Dec 2023 to Sept 2024, and it was a disaster from start to finish.
The whole house was in appauling conditions, which we didn't actually realise until after he moved in - dirty, unsafe, unlivable.
First of all, the kitchen was literally falling apart. The stove had been wired up wrong and was dangerous to use, not to mention it was absolutely disgusting. All the appliances in the kitchen were so dirty that if you had used them, you'd have ended up in A&E seriously poorly.
Leaders never once hired a cleaner for the property despite lots of broken promises to do so.
Leaders promised lots of things - a new fridge, new cooker, a cleaner, I could go on and on..
Once the landlady finally agreed to a new kitchen, she hired some cowboy contractor to come and fit it - and what a disaster. The walls were left as bare plaster, the cupboards didn't fit, the sink leaked water all over the kitchen floor, which was dangerously close the wrongly fitted lose wires around the cooker. We didn't think the kitchen could have been any worse to start off with, but we were wrong. It was so much worse.
During a housing inspection, it was pointed out that the room my boyfriend had been renting had been wrongly plastered on the ceiling, and it could collapse at any time. The landlady tried to hide this under highly flammable Polystyrene tiles.. not great if your boyfriends room is already above a dangerously fitted and wired kitchen! After the housing inspection, the landlady once again brought her cowboy contractors in to "fix" the problem. The contractor made such a mess of my boyfriends room - plaster and paint on my boyfriends possessions, paint on the curtains, and all over the floor. No professionalism at all.
Since my boyfriend has moved out, Leaders are trying to now charge him for the damage caused by this contractor, a professional clean and extra rent!
My boyfriend cleaned the room to a better standard than before he even moved in, and despite our ongoing efforts to dispute these bogus charges, Leaders have now turned to harassing his guarantors for the money.
I would like to mention that my boyfriend was forced to renew a temporary tenancy at the property as we were waiting to move in together, but our move had been delayed. In saying this, he was assured that under the new tenancy, he would not need the original gurantors agreement to the new contract.
Going back to the conditions of the property, I can not stress enough how poorly Leaders properties are kept!
My boyfriend was in constant communication with Holly from the Boston office, who fobbed him off time and time again.
Just before he left the property, it was decided that the tennants must now pay for their own gas and electric aswell, on top of the £425 a month rent! Shocking.
I am now so angry about how he has been treated by Leaders.
As estate agents, you should be ashamed of yourselves!
Your properties are shambles, and some of these houses should be condemned.
We will fight you all the way on these ridiculous extra charges, you're not having another penny off my boyfriend!

As a landlord I have found the team at Leaders amazingly good at sorting any problems arising with my property. They are always happy to help over the phone with patience and understanding.

An amazing team, I was a tenant who was in a horrible situation of having to move house due to my landlord selling. The Boston team of leaders are so helpful. The property management team who I now deal with are so helpful. I think I’ve now spoken with every member of the team now, thank you Jamie, Gemma, shannon, Hollie and Lyndsay for your help

So quick and helpful Jamie has helped get our fence fixed we receive good communication from agent and handyman

I had a nightmare situation with housing, and contacted Leaders to view properties. Amy, the letting agent, went above and beyond to adjust to my hectic times. The property manager, Shannon, was also very approachable and easy to contact.

Amazing experience with leaders especially with "Gemma" . My stay with them for 2 years has been very smooth and they have been promptly resolving issues if brought to them.

Brilliant when I first became a tenant now no care is given. Staff hound you to do a good review mentioning names to get their little bonus. Been waiting years for work to be completed, always pass the book to someone else. Hole in the wall when moved in, the put masking tape over it. Letterbox leaking when rains, still not sorted. Half the walls falling off, they're not interested. Friends of the landlord just turning up, using the driveway and riding through with a ride on lawnmower, non secure property. Can't wait to find somewhere new with a decent and interested landlord that wants to look after their property. If I could turn back I'd never use leaders again. Can't wait to find somewhere new, feel sorry for the next victim that pays £700 a month for a sh**hole of a house. Freshly painted when first moved but never mentioned about the damp and salt coming through so as you can imagine, it's dropping off. Unsafe bedroom doors. The list goes on. Oh and when you mention anything about taking it further, your end of tenancy comes up.

Leaders is the first letting agency where me and my partner felt that finally all boxes get ticked. Whenever we have an issue it gets sorted and we have been happy with the service received so far. Lyndsay has been amazing to us, very helpful and understanding.

Fantastic Customer Service. I required some important information urgently and rang the Boston office first thing on a Monday and spoke with Gemma Hendrerson. Not only did Gemma manage to get the information I required back to me very quickly, it also include inforamation from the company before Leaders took over. Absolutely brilliant service, thank you.

Been a tenant through Leaders for a number of months now and throughout the whole process from application to property management, their services have been nothing short of exemplary.
Staff have always been incredibly polite and helpful. If any issues do occur, Gemma & all the team are always there to make sure everything is resolved very quickly.

Please avoid using this company spent 3 years at one of there properties always had excellent inspections every 6 months until we handed our notice in only giving half our deposit back using petty reasons for doing so.

A big thank you to Gemma for helping to get the next door neighbours fence sorted out after no one wanted to know. She is always so polite even after i had a bit of a rant one day,not like the ignorant person i spoke to at the letting agent that lets that property.
