not worth the money at all. they break after a few months of having them, barely lasts a full year, even though it’s well taken care of. their customer service is horrendous as well to deal with. be warned if you’re ordering in Canada as it does NOT show the proper currency. don’t waste your money!!

also PSA: found a case on Amazon EXACTLY like lifeproof but better, for a THIRD of the price.

The lifeproof fré case used to be amazing, now they are crap and they do not stand by their product. Trying to get warranty on a case that is 6mths old and feel like they are giving me the runaround!!!!They do not stand behind this product!!!

DO NOT BUY A LIFEPROOF CASE!!!! The claims this company makes are false. From personal experience with more than one of their cases, I warn you... stay away from their products. People you talk to can not hear you when using this case. The volume on and off button for the case stops working very early on. The case is definitely not waterproof. Most importantly, the claim that the case is in fact “Life Proof” and protects your phone from breaking and cracking when dropped is absolutely false. They will not replace your phone when their product fails to protect it either. Customer service also has not gotten back to me regarding the above in almost two months. For the almost $100 this case costs, save your money and buy two or three cases. I would pay the money if the product actually worked but since my $1000 phone is now ruined from a 3ft drop, I will NEVER BUY THIS PRODUCT AGAIN. This is the first review I’ve ever written for a company because their claims are so grossly false that they should be sued. Phones are too expensive to claim that your case will protect it when it absolutely does not.

Purchased an iPhone X fre case last summer. It was not the first or the last one I will buy. I love these cases and recently had some issues with the charging port cover not closing. Even in these trying COVID times, their customer service was amazing when I was having an issue with the website for the warranty. They responded to the issue very quickly and sent me a new case. They don’t carry the colour anymore but I’m more concerned with the dust and water getting in and they sent the case right away. They are sturdy cases and I have never had an issue with water in them. My next phone I will definitely be buying another case for that model as well!

You guys suck so bad. You used to have a product that actuality functioned the way it should. Waterproof case and all the bells and whistles. So now you've decided to lower the bar completely and offer none of that protection anymore. Your cases used to be indestructible. Now they are plastic pieces of junk that don't help at all. My phone is not protected, you took away the screen protector and the water proof function. Way to go! You had a product that worked and now you have completely given up. I hate this company. Why would you downgrade when you had a winning product? Thanks for sucking. I will never buy from you again. Good job.

I purchased 4 FRE cases for iPhone XR on the recommendation of their sister company Otterbox as they do not provide a face cover with their cases and they advised me that LifeProof did. The cases cause my screen to go black. Apple checked out the phones and said the problem was due to the cases. LifeProof refuses to honor their warranty without me sending a picture of the damage which I cannot as the screen is blank. The sound is also muffled. I have never had a problem with Otterbox honoring a warranty. Terrible customer service. I would never purchase anything from them again. These cases are quite expensive. What a rip-off:

Train trauma or alligator appetizer? Case isn't a month old and already cracked. Pretty sure I would remember stopping a train with it or pulling it out of an alligator. Sound quality is horrible and I am forced to resort to texting. It gets 2 stars because it passed the waterproof test and it has a silent button instead of the Ounne's tiny nubby knob made for elves.

Terrible Rip-Off Company and here’s why; overpriced products, really really bad customer service. If you need to exchange or return, they treat you like crap and are no longer considered a valued customer but an annoyance. They will not let you exchange, only return and repurchase. They charge you a fee to return because they don’t allow exchanges, then they charge again for shipping out your replacement piece.
Also they take up to 4 weeks to process your return so it doesn’t hit their books for a selected time period.
My advice is to find a similar product on Amazon or any other website or company.

It won't allow my to do 0 Stars & that's what this overpriced product deserves! I will never again be fooled by the so called "lifeproof" trade mark that is attached to this case! Don't waste your money!!! My phone was by no means abused and I trusted this product & it had failed me and the company will do nothing to correct this!! LIFEPROOF MY ASS.........

Junk. Buttons wear out and slide under buttons on phone. Gave up quality and sensitivity of sound, microphone, touch screen, etc. For what looked to be durability. Volume down button wore out. I did without it for months until power button wore out took Lifeproof off and my screen is cracked in several places...I put little pieces of paper under buttons....they work now....lol....send that gem to your engineering staff...I'll take 10 percent.....lol would like it made right though....

I dropped my Samsung Galaxy S9 in the lake yesterday. Found it at bottom of lake in about 15 minutes. I am so thankful and grateful it was in a LifeProof case. It's perfectly fine. I'm beyond amazed. So happy this product lives up to it's reputation and claims. I am a LifeTime customer for sure. Thank you.

Okay so this is the third LifeProof case I have owned. I started off with one for my iPhone 5 which I didn't keep very long so I did not have enough time to know how well the product is. I purchased an iPhone 6s plus and then purchased another LifeProof case the Cowabunga/Wave Crash. This case did have to be replaced due to the clasp at the charging post becoming very loose. LifeProof company did replace the case and that one did make it almost a year before falling apart. The rubber around the case came off piece by piece. So far LifeProof cases have been protecting my phone because nothing had ever fallen on my phone. So I purchased another one this case the seal started to come apart at the top corners. The case is still under warranty so I contacted LifeProof again. As I am waiting to solve this issue with LifeProof I had dropped something on my phone with the LifeProof case on it. This did not protect my phone as my screen shattered due to their flimsy lousy piece of cheap plastic cover. I thought LifeProof meant LifeProof..... Which is obviously not the case here..... no pun intended. I will never purchase a lifeproof case again in my life nor will I ever recommend this product obviously..... they are pure junk not worth a single cent. I purchased a new case that cost me $10 which compared to LifeProof cases that cost $40 and up is amazing in quality. Do yourself and pocket book a favor and stay away from LifeProof, life is not about just dropping your phone in water LifeProof should be LifeProof meaning it should protect your phone from anything with in reason. A desk lamp fell on my phone (that to me is within reason) the LifeProof case on it and shattered my screen. This is something that could happen in life and seems within reason for this case to protect your phone at the cost you pay for it. Do yourself a great justice and stay away from LifeProof!!! Lifeproof is rubbish!!! I hadnt had my case for 2 months before it needed to be replace. And if theres any damage to the phone they wont do anything about it the name "lifeproof" is very miss leading. Dont buy theyve put me $500+ out of pocket

I've had a lifeproof on the last 3 phones...Iphone 4s, 6s and now an XR.
On the 4s and 6s it worked flawlessly. The 4s screen finally separated after 3 yrs of very hard use on a boat. I work on both a tugboat and a whale watching boat. My phones get thrown and tossed by the ocean a lot. Frequently hitting the steel, aluminum and fiberglass deck of the boats I work on. I've dropped them on concrete and blacktop of the docks and shipyards I work on.

The 6s case is 2 yrs old and in great shape still. Both the older cases screen protectors are scratched pretty bad, but that's to be expected.

So, when it came time to get a new case for the XR I went with lifeproof again. I bought the Frē and from day one people said they were having a hard time hearing me. The only time they could hear me is if I put it on speaker, then it was "better but still weak".

After seeing some reviews, I saw that this was an issue with the Frē and broke down and bought an otterbox (not waterproof) with a LK glass screen protector. I feel I'm taking a risk if I drop it in the water even though the XR is supposed to be waterproof. But, after having put the phone into the otterbox case, the difference in how other people hear me with comments like "did you get a new phone? The old one was shiot" has me glad I did.

I give the case 3 stars because it has protected my phone from many many drops in the past few months I've had this phone. And, not a scratch to the phone. BUT, the lack of audio I would give it a 1 star.

I'm thinking of trying a different lifeproof non-waterproof case because the otterbox is so bulky as I do like the company and have enjoyed their products for quite a few years now.

The buttons dont work on two different cases.. They should be sued.

Purchased the Fre for my S8. Six months since new in the tropics and the "rubber" has turned to mush. I can peel it off the frame with my fingernail. This means the rubber around buttons has failed so waterproofing is gone and the buttons either no longer work or will soon no longer work. The clear screen from the start scratched far too easily.

Gave it an extra point because it will protect your phone if you drop it, but then again so will a case 1/10th the price.

Case did not hold up. Less than 2 years old.

Lifeproof is garbage, not a good ROI at all. We have 4 cellphones in our house, 2 have have lifeproof cases less than a year old, 2 have Otter Box 1 year and 3 yrs old. Rubber around BOTH lifeproof cases is peeling off and you cant operate the buttons on the side of the phone well wo the rubber covers. The 2 Otter Box cases are holding up just fine! I've had Otter box in the past and will.cont w them forever. I will never purchase another lifeproof case. They are more expensive than Otter Box and definitely NOT worth it!

Placed order April 15th. Canceled April 17th.

On April 18th they sent an e-mail saying my item was ready to ship and a label was generated. Responded immediately that I'd canceled, do not ship, please refund.

On April 20th they sent an e-mail saying I could cancel, but I'd need to print their pre-generated label, wait for the item to arrive, put on the label and ship back, and then wait up to two weeks (after receipt) for a refund. Oh, and they'd charge me a fee for the return. I double-checked and the USPS tracking they'd provided on the 18th? Hadn't been shipped, just a label generated. Responded immediately that I'd already canceled this TWICE, the item was still there, and to just refund me - I was not going to wait for the item to send back and be charged a fee.

On April 23rd they sent ANOTHER e-mail saying they'd wave the fee for the return, but that I'd still have to wait for the item and send it back. Double-checked again and the USPS tracking showed the item STILL hadn't been shipped. I tried to contact the person (Samuel), but the number said their phone service was not available currently; when I tried to send ANOTHER message through their site, they'd blocked me.

I've filed a chargeback against them and am warning people. Their product is great but their customer service is HORRIBLE - no help whatsoever and I'll never deal directly with Lifeproof or OtterBox EVER AGAIN.

Had my share of these cases because they kept breaking. Decided to buy one for my iPhone X figuring that they had fixed all the problems. But nope with the microphone phone doesn’t understand half the stuff you’re talking on Siri, and you can’t use speaker when talking on the phone😡. Didn’t get my $92.00 worth
