Mentalwell provides online ADHD and autism assessments for children and adults, with short waiting times. ADHD assessments are carried out by GMC-registered psychiatrists, and medication titration appointments (finding the right medication and dose) by qualified prescribers. Autism assessments are carried out by a multi-disciplinary team of clinical psychologists and speech and language therapists. Choose private care or, for adult ADHD, NHS-funded care through Right to Choose.

Went through Mentalwell via the right…
Went through Mentalwell via the right to choose pathway. Submitted my documents for referral on 31st August and completed my assessment all by mid October. Support was great from start to finish and the speed at which it was all dealt with was excellent

This clinic has been great, all the emails have been perfectly communicated, the website is thoughtfully laid out, booking my appointment was extremely easy and the Doctor who did my assesment was fantastic, dealing with Mentalwell has been brilliant and I was immensely surprised by how efficient and effective dealing with this clinic has been considering all the horror stories I've been hearing.

Seamless process

Leaves you high and dry
Was great whilst getting a diagnosis, then they sell you the dream about medication, very expensive to go through the period of honing in your dose, then if your Dr doesnt approve your plan, you have to pay again for another 6 months at £750 before you pay for the medication again. Mental cost. Leaves you high and dry without any communication this was going to happen

Thank you for sharing your experience. We understand your concerns about the cost of titration and ongoing treatment, and that you feel the treatment plan and Shared Care arrangements weren’t made clear before you started.
Treatment plans cover clinical support for a set period, and medication is charged separately. Shared Care is subject to your GP’s decision. We’re awaiting their response, so please contact your GP directly for an update. Continuing to receive prescriptions through Mentalwell requires an active treatment plan.
We take your feedback about how these costs and requirements are explained seriously and will use it to review our communications.
Medication titration is ridiculous
The time it took to get an assessment was great and the lady who did it was perfect. However it stops there! Having been told they would contact my GP, cardiology team I now find them asking for all this information despite them stating they would contact them. Ive supplied them with the information they have asked for, but find they are asking for the same information again! If you choose to go on medication and have complex needs, please dont listen to them stating that they will obtain the information because they simply go back on there words and delay it further. Im going to approach another source as this is getting ridiculous when youve had confirmation emails stating they have the information!

Assessment was quick but follow up painful
Assessment was extremely quick, but their stated titration wait times on ADHD UK aren’t realistic (4 weeks) as I’m at least double this wait time already and they refuse to give timelines when asking.
Not great customer service once assessed. Responses feel scripted and responses are unwilling to engage in supporting customers with managing their expectations or timescales.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS f you are looking for late life…
If you are looking for late life screening avoid using this company. They insist on having an informant from before the age of 12, that can be hard when one is over 50 or if you have a different kind of childhood / upbringing. Discriminatory and only interested in profit, not providing ethical care.

The questionnaire is a required part of our current assessment process. It helps clinicians review a person’s developmental history, and we’re unable to complete the assessment without it. We recognise that finding someone who can provide this information can be difficult, particularly when a person’s childhood circumstances mean they don’t have an appropriate informant.
Your referral was closed at your request and will take your feedback into account when explaining the process.

Mental well is a clinic I can highly recommend after 7 years of seeing a GP regarding my issues I was diagnosed the day of my appointment, then the nurse practitioner called me 5 days later to discuss going forward. Incredible customer service helpful with any tech issues reply within minutes an all round 1st class service 5 star ⭐️
