Trying to verify identify in relation to a bank account and someone in UX has messed up the App, so that the screen won't scroll down because there is a copyright banner stuck over the app which won't allow you to scroll down the page. Move the buttons up people... above the fold for a reason.
And you cannot verify any other way than on a mobile. You'd have thought they'd have actually tested this out on mobiles. Massive fail. There is no way to report this either. Mitek says you have to contact the provider that wants you to verify. So now we need to take the documents into a branch to verify the account. It's easier to open my child's account with a different provider.

I would give zero stars if I could. Terrible experience. Video I.d experience just didn’t work despite several attempts. I wear spex, and I have to remove them…so..how do it read the on screen details ? This is badly done. It discriminates against people with limited eyesight . I decided to cancel my total investment with Nat west. Serves them right . If you want our money, have a system that works. A disgrace.

Have they been hacked? Applying for ISA have uploaded both passport and driving licence 3 times since Tuesday and although I have been advised they are 'processed' I have been asked for this info again by Natwest today. Mitek/Natwest don't seem to be in control of their systems. I now don't trust that it is safe to give them any ID details.
Just gave up in the end
This is is a classic example of a purely automated system that didn't work.
It gives purely binary responses, so if you don't have exactly what it needs or it cannot read the documents it will just come back with the same request for more information....
I tried contacting Nat West but the complicated maze of options and endless waiting designed to stop you from ever talking to a human meant I eventually just gave up.
Comically, with no way to cancel the application, I then had to endure the same daily e mails asking me for more information until it all finally just timed out.
Frustrating and ultimately failed.
Reading these other reviews I can see I wasn't alone.

Awful system that makes it almost impossible to upload and take photos of documents on a phone. The only way you can make it work is by going into settings and setting the webpage zoom to 50%, this allowed me to click the button to take a picture.
Zero stars if I could
Zero stars if I could! Thanks to Mitek ID rejecting my valid driver's license I'm completely blocked from opening a NatWest or Ulster Bank bank account (unless I pay for another form of ID they can summarily reject?). I'd urge businesses that actually want legitimate customers to avoid this 'service' like the plague.

Tried verifying my identity for a nationwide bank account and the system is absolutely awful. It doesn’t let you actually upload a photo if you try doing it through your mobile phone as the page gets suck and you cannot scroll. I would rather wait for my details through the post than give my biometrics to these incompetent imbeciles!! Would give 0 stars if possible. Avoid at all costs!
Absolutely INCOMPETENT …
This is the second time my application is rejected by Natwest through Mitek. The forms I uploaded (the Mitek asked for) were PDF files directly downloaded from NATWEST’S own app! Kept saying I should provide clearer documents, when I didn’t even take pictures. I uploaded what I downloaded from Natwest! Natwest is pathetic for using such an incompetent service like Mitek. Mitek will cost Natwest many customers.

If you want to waste your time with uploading completely clear docs many times, then they will have no shame to use you as Guinea pig, as they likely will leak your information just like they cannot obtain your information. They must have paid a tech student to develop their system. Now I have to waste time making sure they delete my account, as something is off.

Documents rejected due to “name mismatch”… whose name? Which name? First, second, last? Well. Apparently last name. Mitek cannot decipher last names from official documents requested by NatWest so it became an infinite problem loop, with NatWest identifying the problem as “your last name is wrong”
I tried to find common sense in the bank and to explain to them that I am not changing my last name on my son’s birth certificate so that Mitek would approve my documents. Sadly the few humans I found to appeal my case who saw sense and reason could do nothing in their system. Case agents were powerless against Mitek. Avoid NatWest.

Got sent on the merry-go-round of ; send photo id/rejected photo id until I could no longer use my drivers license as a valid form of id, locking me completely out of proving who I am for my insurance provider.
Avoid AA insurance and any other company using this pos bot app unless you like fairground rides.
Utterly useless service
Utterly useless service. Virgin Money use this for ID checks and they are totally inept. The web-based link they send initially accepts and verifies any photo, but two days later you are asked to do the process again. There is no way to look at the photo you have taken, which could ensure it is well-framed and clear.
Virgin say I cannot just send them photos of my ID directly to avoid the Mitek merry-go-round with days wasted days messing customers about.
If you are a software buyer for a big company looking for an ID solution... avoid these inept clowns.

Very disappointing experience. I submitted my driving licence three times and each attempt failed without a clear explanation. This has been a waste of time and I have decided not to proceed with my application to the bank.

Completed the process but received an email saying I was now overdue, checked in to find a message saying I'd done everything.
Texts and emails arriving with highly annoying regularity chasing up completion. If something's wrong, bloody ring me and explain, because I've given up!
Mitek breach the Equality Act 2010 against disabled people
I am dying of MND and am critically diabled. Because of this and doctor's orders / not able to get travel insurance, my driver's license and passport have expired. Mitek have refused to accept the only photo ID I have now, my Blue Card Parking Permit - don't laugh, that's all I have, it is a legal photo ID - I hope you never get MND and suffer such abject unlawful discrimination.

have wasted so much time on this. It took me 10 minutes waiting for this app to decide I was just the right balance between too close and too far from my camera. Infuriating. Next, I provide drivers license, but it wants ANOTHER proof of address. But of course the only proof of address that is accepted must be a paper bill. Who gets paper bills these days? And it's on my driving license! I have wasted 2-3 hours and still can't get verified. And then, as if deliberately designed to annoy me, the system sends an email AND a text, neither of which I can reply to.

I wanted to set up a savings account with Yorkshire Building Society and was forwarded to Mitek so that they could check who I am. The whole experience was awful as I had to get a pass code to use my phone to Identify if I was actually a live person by moving my facial features in front of my phone camera. Then to photograph my passport or driving licence both of which were refused as not a clear enough image. At this point I thought this might be a scam, so did not go any further. My point is that we are constantly warned about scams and scammers and this company is acting like one. I wonder if I asked them to use the same methods to Identify themselves would they comply. I doubt it!. What is wrong with the old tried and tested method of identification such as turning up at the Building Society (to prove I am alive ), then showing my passport, driving licence, utility bills and bank details. These details should be more than enough to prove anybody's identity and home address.
Backwards AI/Bot driven Tech -10 Stars!
This is the 3rd time I have been forced to use this horrible AI BOT driven service partner of NatWest.
As before it’s a repeat of rejected documents and delays in simple verification processes, down to BAD AI and NO human interventions.
For 36 hours this week I went back and forth with this “service” even after I had uploaded ALL documents 100% corrected. These were not photos BUT PDFs from my Payroll company and Natwest!
Yet still the service rejected them over and over! Using the same docs!!
Bring back the days when we went to Branch and just SHOWED a human our info and they processed it!
This is backward technology and the ones paying the price are the CUSTOMERS of NatWest!
