I’d give half a star if I could

I’d give half a star if I could. No intercom/door buzzer for five months now. I have a vulnerable adult at home and I work full time. There are support services attempting to call and provide care for the person with me. They are unable to do that as the buzzer doesn’t work, neither does the camera so we have no idea when they’ve been. Same for deliveries. I’ve reported and reported as have my neighbours and we have been passed from pillar to post. Even the challenge of ‘how do you know it’s not your fault’?’ Came from the site manager. We pay for the upkeep of the building and grounds. So far, the service does not provide value for money.

I can't believe I'm having to write…

I can't believe I'm having to write this/vent my frustrations,again .Our manager, left mid April,the consensus was "oh thank goodness he's gone"
Since then Scanlans haven't had the good grace to inform us who the new *puppet* is or the contact details.Its been three weeks of asking but not getting a reply
Given the complex is undergoing remediation it sure makes life hell for us not knowing what's going on.
After builders caused a leak in the roof it took over ten weeks for it to be fixed they deny causing it ,we've ended up as leaseholders paying for the repair thanks to Scanlans manager arranging it's repair ,we weren't consulted
We dred the next few months after the contractor signs off the work and leaves, we will have further expenses ,paying to clear up the mess they leave behind.

Nicola Hall Scanlans Property Management
Just wanted to take a moment to recognise Nicola from Scanlans Management Company for the outstanding work she does. She is always happy to help, no matter the situation, and consistently goes above and beyond in her role.
What really stands out is how quickly she responds to emails, often within minutes and even outside of her working hours, which shows real dedication. Whenever any issues arise, Nicola deals with them promptly and efficiently, making everything feel much less stressful.
She is a true credit to the company, and I honestly can’t thank her enough for the excellent job she does in managing the building in Birmingham.
Highly appreciated! 🙂

Scanlans are amazing my experience with…

Scanlans are amazing my experience with this company for 15 years very helpful they understand how to manage our building inside out I’m a very happy resident and as a director also working with Justine the manager is a joy very helpful young lady she deals with all problems immediately she sort everything out also have to mention she organised new Gardner omg! The garden looks amazing they did more than super job all residents are amazed how beautiful it looks now very well maintained “thank you Justine” also Karen is very friendly and helpful young lady and hard working our building in Handforth Wilmslow and Scanlans office in Manchester.
Thank you Scanlans and keep up the wonderful work.

Why these people are allowed to carry…

Why these people are allowed to carry on managing properties, I don't know. New intercom hasn't even been in 6 months and for 3 days or more it hasn't been working. Apparently there is a payment issue with EE. So I guess Scanlons have not paid the bill. I have missed 2 deliveries already today even though I have put signs up. I am not well, 67, and can't be going up and down the stairs looking for parcels. Absolutely disgraceful service

Appalling service

Appalling service. Rapid change over of staff, no transparency on accounting. Happy to spend our money on contractors that repeatedly fail to deliver.

Fails to meet the RICS Code of Conduct

Evasive, slow to fix problems in our building, chaotic accounting, refuses to engage with leaseholders, rapid turnover of staff

Utterly astonishingly disinterested or…

Utterly astonishingly disinterested or incompetent. We email or call repeatedly regarding a huge list of things that are not addressed and nothing is sorted. It seems that whoever they use as contractors have limited skills as well. I dislike using social media reviews to make action happen, but I am forced to this position through frustration.

No Communication bar demand for payment

Scanlans, or Scamlans as the people on our newly built estate commonly refer to them as due to no communication and no evidence of any work ever having occurred on the small strip of disused land that they are supposedly managing. The only communication we receive is a demand for payment, with many emails having been blatantly ignored asking for evidence of works actually been completed. The only communication that anyone has ever had is a site plan outlining which bit of small land they are meant to be maintaining, no evidence that anyone has actually maintained it. The communication from our side has been attempted for the past 3.5 years, no valid form of communication has been received other than demands for payment.

A special thanks to Louise

A special thanks to Louise, who supported us quickly and efficiently whenever we needed help, especially with the management pack and legal documentation. Her communication was clear, fast and extremely helpful during an important stage for us.

We have been living in the estate for 5 years, and the property management services have always been excellent. The estate is well looked after - the lawns are maintained regularly, and any required management tasks have been handled promptly and professionally.

We also really appreciate the annual reports they send out - transparent, detailed, and easy to understand.

Overall, a very reliable and well-organised management company.

Do not ever use ths company for a…

Do not ever use ths company for a survayor. They maybe Rics reg. But they have a conflict of interest charge the earth for a dreadful service. They were used in a disrepair repair report. Refused to go into the loft were all the black mould was and a roof leak. Damp at the back door refused to use a famp metre on the floor or around blown skirting boards,rat damge due to having rat nfestston refused to report on this . Issue with would lice, stated not active even though they were all over the house and he saw them crawling around. Black mould on door frames ingnored wster staining o ceiling ignored they he changed his mind and finally got his damp reader out. Whole place cover in thick brown residue in kitchen sockets and ingnored then took a picure of one socket with nothing in it. Stated they had taken photogrpahs when infact they did not. Ignored a previous rics report. Ignored a lab report and said just computor print out. Rude, aregant. Made a compaint Rics. That was a waste of time too. Any solicitor looking at this aviod them. I sat on this for a while as i did not want to post due to anger. This tiok place October 2024.

Faceless money grabbing and no actual service

They love to ask for money and implement charge increases way above inflation and then have the cheek to say it’s “primarily inflation”.

Quick enough to ask for money but the service is awful. Slow/no replies, and they tell you important administrative by LETTER at the last minute to try and make you miss your bill deadline.

Their portal isn’t even secure yet they keep pointing you to it - not accessible. For the fortune we pay, we should be able to expect secure transactions.

8.3% increase this year for a DECLINE in service quality.

Faceless corporate money grabbing.

Scanlans have not been helpful

Scanlans have not been helpful at all for me, when standards of apartment block I live in are raised I’m told I will get a response tomorrow but it’s always a week later and then it seems to be excuse after excuse and nothing resolved, from listening how other property management companies respond and help their residents I would not recommend scanlans…

Would give no stars if possible

Would give no stars if possible, my 70 year old boss has been up a ladder in this weather to try to stop the rain from pouring into our shop, due to poor maintenance, poor communication, and even poorer outcomes. It’s tantamount to fraud the money they charge and what they do to earn it.

Awful company

Awful company. Lacking any customer service, compassion or professionalism. They wouldn't help expedite a management pack required to sell my house even though there were only a few days to completion, then when it did come through late it was wrong and my completion date was missed by more than a week. Terrible company and I will never buy a house again that has this company managing any aspect of it.
