Scanlans, robbers
We had a flat at Belgrave heights Darwen ,Scanlan were a joke ,they did nothing, gardens, windows,cleaning common areas ,but still took the money, it was that bad my partner used to do the grass to keep it tidy. They then decided to raise the charge to 3times the amount, we then all decided to change company, much better everything done properly. Scanlan should be written off as an absolutely disgusting company. If in the future we were to buy another property if Scanlans name came up we would not be buying.

Poor service hoping this company will…
Poor service hoping this company will be replaced with another property management company very soon, any requests seem too take forever too complete if completed at all, constant mistakes made when addressing issues, I’m sure their are much better options for property management rather than giving this incompetent company your contracts. Poor service experienced for last 5 years and no evidence that the service will improve,
If it’s a good service you desire scanlans property management West Midlands are not the company too provide this,

I have been a landlord for over 25 years and Scanlans have been my property management company for over ten years now for a property I own in Birmingham. They have very good with various issues throughout the years but in particular I would say Mairead Geoghegan (Property Manager) has been nothing short of excellent in her pro active approach in supporting me in resolving a couple of difficult issues that I could not deal with directly as I reside in Scotland. Well done Scanlans.

Louise Phillips took my call when I rang the Birmingham office to clarify a few issues. I was very pleasantly surprised by her friendly, polite and "can do" approach to each of my queries. Everything was solved (and followed through) effortlessly in the ONE call. This was such a refreshing attitude which is sadly, a rarity these days. Louise you are "a gem!" Thank you so very much.
Great management company!
I own an apartment in a Castlefield building (Manchester) which Scanlans manage. Their management of the building has been consistently excellent.
- Their accounts and reporting is always prompt and accurate.
- All of my questions/concerns have been dealt with straight away.
- The property manager for the building is very good.
- Service charges have remained constant.
- The building is in good condition, and maintained well.
- Scanlans have also improved both internal and external communal areas, and are taking steps to make the building more eco friendly. All of this has been done within budget.
- Scanlans are also proactive regarding any changes in legislation, and keeping tenants updated on any building works/improvements.
In summary, I have nothing negative to say about them. They tick all of the boxes.

I have worked alongside Scanlans Property Management now for several years. They are very approachable and have kept me well informed of all accounts and actions over the years. May I personally thank Miriam Unsworth for her continued hard work and patience with our housing estate and for keeping things in great order. I have now moved on but I am sure the good work will continue.

I have had reason to deal with Scanlans over a number of years. The company have been very helpful with the advice and support it has given me. The staff have been courteous and efficient. They have always been prepared to listen and explain issues that arise with a leasehold in a large block of flats. The company send regular updates and keep me informed of any issues. Miriam in particular has been very helpful.
24 hours without water..
24 hours without water... Absolutely horrendous management in every aspect. They have sent letters about how proud they are saving money on the heating pump for the building yet it’s failed over 4 times being left with no water on several occasions.
Hallway was vandalised over several months ago and still has not been repaired. The carpets and general cleanliness is absolutely abysmal.
Of course they have now lost the management contract to our building and since the “handover” began they’ve lost all interest at all, the bin stores a mess, they don’t respond to emails.
Emergency signs missing for months, the lift apparently not fit for use in a fire yet no signage. All of the basics missed for months on end and no one doing anything about it.
Scanlans make no effort to assist you as a leaseholder and only have their own achievements to comment on, which are few.
One good thing, they do know how to say they’re very sorry for the inconvenience...
