Both the website and the app are not fit for purpose. The app has no 'save' option, and empties accumulated items when you go back into it. Using the website, it proves to be near-impossible to reach 10 items or the minimum amout of £10. Plus it uses a version of 'dynamic pricing', whereby the value of items in the basket can be changed, and - as luck would have it! - the change always seems to lower the value. And finally, when it does offer anything, the average value of items is about 10p.
Worst book company I have dealt with!
Told me courier had lost my parcel so would just pay out. This is after me chasing them for updates. Then I received an email stating they would pay out less than agreed as 6 books not included. I emailed again to get explanation. Miraculously my parcel arrived and they told me 3 books were damaged. Another email chain for them then to change to 4 books damaged and 2 missing. Funny how they were all sent and they were all perfect when they left me!
Payment didn’t appear. Another email chain to be told error with payments and would be another week. No communication in advance to tell me, they waited for me to contact them. No compensation for the horrific service.
Honestly I would stick to world of books. Never had an issue with them. Wanted to give these a try but never again. Account deleted. You need to improve your communication and service.
Shocking company there are better book buy back companies who offer a lot more for your books.
Sell it back with no explanation just red crosses against the titles doesn’t pay and when you look on your account you can see you have sent 20 books and you will only receive payment 10. With no explanation other companies inform you why you don’t receive payment for certain books “
Not received/water damage/ this company issues no explanation just short changes you and keeps the books which I suspect may be resold as I have received filthy tatty books on their sales website Awsome books. We buy books is 100% better they pay you for the majority of the books you send and pay quickly
Avoid this cheating unprofessional company at all costs.

I WILL DO A FEW MORE IN THE FUTURE AND HOPEFULLY RAIISE A LITTLE MORE FOR A GOOD COURSE.

When you press sell books, just double check that books that have been sitting in your basket still have the same value as you can end up sending them books now worth £0 if you’re not careful. Can’t imagine for a minute that they don’t then put them in their inventory … could be wrong but they certainly may weren’t offered back to me if I paid the costs.

Rip off merchants.
I sold books to Sell it back and agreed to take vouchers to spend with Awesome Books, but their website is $#!t and couldn't accept my order as a result of their own self-admitted failing. Awesome Books and Sell it back are now refusing to give me my money instead. I will never use them again.
30 Mar 2026 - Sell it Back told me there was no way to convert my vouchers into cash, yet the Awesome Books Senior Team Lead for Customer Service agreed to refund me and provided a very disappointing small amount of compensation; so, more lies from Sell It Back. I will still never use them again.

Sellitback seems to be more geared for business users rather than personal seller as they recommend using a USB scanner for barcodes. Trying to do it on your phone or directly into website is very slow.. They do give good prices on selected items. Evri pick-up worked OK for me up to about 10kgs weight - but shipments take some time to reach the warehouse and processing seems to take even longer. I had to chase the couple of shipments I've made to them - but once nudged they seem to respond quickly, process the trade and pay swiftly. Some items were rejected but no worse than World of Books. Much prefer WeBuyBooks. I probably wouldn't use again.

AVOID if you want to waste your time !
I packed my box and printed the label for pick up the next day... as instructed I put it on the doorstep..... no one collected so the box got rained on ! Emailed and sent me another date for pick up and again not picked up ... still sat on my doorstep a week later so it's going in the bin ! Wasted my time scanning getting a box printing and packing it up for it to be binned !

Problems from start to finish.
I used sell it back twice and both times the app and website won't allow a QR code to be generated. Had to wait days for customer service to email one. Then payment was delayed by weeks. I am still waiting for the last payment a month ago

shipping was also a bit of a faff having to print etc and not having a time slot for pick ups.

I have always been impressed with Sellitback. They give you 4 books for 50p each "free" and I like the 10 minimum sell figure as well.

wow… you’ve surpassed yourself Sell it Back. Yours is the only book trade service who reduces the payout scandalously low , after giving the runaround with your couriers.Some seriously fraudulent sleight of hand going on here.
Do yourselves a favour and shut down your bad business now… you’ll obviously not stay the course….
NB Funny your ratings say you respond to 100% of reviews on here… can’t get a word out of your regular‘ customer ‘service’ - I hate Giving bad reviews but am dutibound to warn well meaning people of the perils of entrusting you with their possessions. Bad service. Bad payment…

They took over 3 weeks to get the books and rejected many almost new books. Paid less than half the value price which was very low to start with compared to new. No opportunity to have books back as they say they ”recycle” them.
I asked for photographic proof and they sent photographs after 2 times of asking. The photographs showed deliberately torn books that were in a good condition and packed well when sent. They happen to be the more expensive books. It’s a scam and don’t want to pay for them. Either that or Evri opened the box and ripped them. I’m very angry as they are books that were well cared for by me.
