4 attempts to change my brakes without squealing and no improvement, I give up.

Easy to arrange. Work carried out expertly and staff were pleasant and helpful.

The mechanic was brilliant, courteous and professional. The AA smart centre was on the in opposite, eventually after 10 emails we managed to sort out the invoice which originally attempted to over double charge me . In fact I threatened to withdraw my membership and car insurance before this was sorted out. I would suggest that little if any training was given in good customer service.

Pressurised into paying a lot more than I needed to with the threat of ‘well we will just put the old stuff back on’ would not recommend at all

I had my brakes and disc done front and back.
He has done an excellent job,very polite and professional.
It helped me out to pay in instalments so I can get my car back through its MOT. Thank you

I did not receive a message or phone call when the mechanic was 15 minutes away as advised in email for the service.

Quick and quality service

Booking was very easy and I was kept well informed throughout including details of the mechanic and van registration and arrival times. Details were clear. The service was completed in good time and everything was done in a very professional and capable manner. Excellent value for money and no stress at all. So pleased that a home service option is now available and will definitely use this again.

Everything the AA done was great. However you need to employ a garage in Port Talbot as it is inconvenient also the garage charged for work that was on the advisory list as my son checked online what the vehicle failed on it was only small things however they said it was £1068 worth of work I have also been informed that most of their parts come from a breakers yard called JABS in Bridgend.

At home service booked a week prior, no confirmation sent from the AA and no answer when trying to contact them, only confirmation received via Book my garage. No show on the day, called them and they said they’d call back - no call back. Called again only to be told my technician had called in sick so they can’t service my car!

Took a day off specially for this so lost a days pay and have now booked with another company. Lack of communication was shocking especially from a company such as the AA. Will never go near them again.

He was a little late but i was told by text so well informed when he got here didn't take him long to do my brake disc and pads well pleased very good service

Smooth booking process, clear pricing and very helpful mechanic visited. Resolved my problem insofar as immediate concerns and got my car moving again. Also gave sound advice if the issue persisted.

Booked on drive full service. Chose the AA because I trusted the brand. Silly me. Never, ever again. You think you are bookng with the AA but really they just outsource to an independent garage.

Here's what happened:

Car left with flashing red bonnet sign and indicators not working when they were working before. So unable to drive to work meeting.

Car not road tested although part of service - never left my drive and the mechanic's van was parked across the end of the driveway for the entire time.

"Check washer fluid levels and top up as necessary" included in the service schedule. The washer reservoir was completely empty.

"Check and adjust tyre pressures" not done and have evidence.

Mechanic left my dashboard display locked on driving data mode which I have been unable to reset.

Invoice records the oil filter, engine oil and air filter as renewed but gives the part numbers for each as TBC'.

Told me they would come back to me about my complaint in 6 weeks but did not.

Re. reply from AA - the point also is that your team did not come back to me within 30 working days/6 weeks - why I have resorted to TP.

The garage was helpful and made direct contact which was appreciated - also close to a bus route.
A couple of mis-communications with Smart Care, resolved by phone.

The service was booked for Friday 25 September, with an appointment window of 8:00am–12:00pm. We were advised that we would receive a telephone call giving us an ETA for the mechanic.

Unfortunately, we received no telephone call, text message or other update whatsoever.

After the 12:00pm deadline had passed, we had to contact you ourselves to find out what was happening. The mechanic eventually arrived at approximately 1:45pm, almost two hours after the end of the agreed appointment window, and the service was not completed until almost 4:00pm.

There were two important reasons why we specifically booked a morning appointment.

Firstly, it was my wife's birthday, and we had made plans for the afternoon.

Secondly, my wife's mother was in hospital. Our intention was for my wife to visit her mother early in the day while I remained at home for the service appointment, after which we could continue with our plans for her birthday.

Because the mechanic did not arrive until 1:45pm and the service continued until almost 4:00pm, our afternoon plans were completely ruined. Understandably, my wife was extremely upset and angry that her birthday plans had been disrupted in this way.

I appreciate that delays can sometimes occur. However, if we had received the promised ETA or even a simple call or message advising us that the mechanic was running significantly late, we could at least have made alternative arrangements. Instead, we were left waiting without any information and had to chase AA Smart Care ourselves.

This was the first time we have used AA Smart Care, and unfortunately it has left us with a very poor first impression of the service.

I would therefore appreciate an explanation as to:

Why the agreed 8:00am–12:00pm appointment window was missed by such a significant margin.Why we received no promised ETA or notification that the mechanic was running late.What AA Smart Care proposes to do to resolve our complaint and recognise the considerable inconvenience caused.
