I took my niece for a early 19th birthday treat after shopping. We had a fabulous time. The young guy who did the cocktails was a treasure. Will definately be taking the rest of my nieces there after shopping. The caesar salad was fabulous. Would highly recommend for a fun afternoon lunch.

Warm welcome from Safiyah and other servers - we received helpful allergy guidance and quick service from Saf again and the drinks + food were good.

St James Quarter, Edinburgh: the food was lower end pub grub, the Guinness was as flat as a pancake, the white wine was like paint thinner and the music was loud enough that the staff couldn't hear us, nor could we hear them.

Might genuinely be the worst place I’ve ever went to. Got there at 12:04 tried to enter then got stopped by worker and they spoke in a condescending manner and said we aren’t open until 12 then when I pointed out it was 12 already they said ok let me check like I’m some idiot that can’t tell the time then when I got the food which was way too expensive btw and also coke it tasted fine but I wasn’t at all filled by it and because of the terrible experience didn’t order anymore food and payed and left and I also had to pay an extra 4 pounds for a “service fee” like they expect me to cook the food myself. So that’s the reason for my bold opinion that this might be the worst place I’ve ever been.

Went there with my gf Spent 36 pounds on curry and lobster mac n cheese which was terrible and didn't even fill us up curry was cold and we got charged and extra 8 pound for what? Absolute scam never going there again wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy.

Food was absolutely outstanding!!

Went to the Nottingham one, the food was terrible, me and my 2 friends all had the Angus steak, it was about as big as a choclate bar, every thing was so small the fries and the colsaw portion size was a disgrace the food barely covered half a plate, complete ripoff.

Scott and his team at the Nottingham Alchemist were amazing. We had a party of 19 to celebrate a 30th birthday and they could not have been more helpful. The girls in the restaurant were amazing - Ariana and Jasmina/Julietta (apologies for not remembering), thank you for your excellent service and joyful attitude, you made the evening special. We look forward to seeing you all again the next time we are in Nottingham.

Visited the Alchemist in Edinburgh with my best friend recently we sat at the bar and chatted whilst orders by Old Fashioned’ the drinks were flowing (apart from one mistake where the mixologist was making three different orders at once and got confused and gave me a straight whisky with lemon) after e few hours we were cut off, no more for us! At the time I was confused we had caused no issues, we had not been loud or had any complaints, on the contrary we were having a laugh with other people around us, very convivial, in hindsight o need to thank them, it was not till an hour later that the drinks really hit us lol, they know what they’re doing and were looking after us even though we didn’t recognise

Great atmosphere, service was excellent, great food, unique drinks. Wait time was brilliant especially considering it was busy. Would recommend

Opening time for Cardiff Alchemist on Friday listed as 11am on internet but it was closed at that time. Went back for 11.30am - still closed. Phoned them to find out opening time & nobody picked up - gave up!!

My partner and I were in the alchemist in St James quarter in Edinburgh on Sat 11th Jan 2025 and thoroughly enjoyed it Alfie who was predominantly serving us was fab and very helpful and had a bit banter with us which we loved !! we had lovely food and 3 amazing cocktails one was the mad hatters to share which came with tea cups instead of glasses very quirky 😀 would defo go back but you must book as it is a popular place 😀

Same as previous reviews .. empty bar but no service. Had to go looking for the bartender who definately looked like he wanted to be at home. Spent $29 quid on two drinks, ATM forced to make tip to move forward with purchase before we got the drinks. Wilted (actually dead) mint garnish. Also a benefit of wireless charges at the tables did not work. Terrible experience... do not recommend.

Booked a table for drinks at the Alchemist Brindley place. Unfortunately got flu so needed to cancel. Even though I cancelled in the morning they still took £40 from my card and won’t refund. I’d understand if I hadn’t told them or if it was a table for food, but just for drinks - £40 is really steep. I had also booked a hotel room and a table for food at other places. All excepted that I had flu and was able to cancel without losing money. Very poor customer service by the Alchemist.

I came here the other week, and had the best fillet steak i've had in a long time! Really recommend!!

Have been a few times for food and also just for drinks.
Always had a great experience until this year.
Was out celebrating my son and my fathers birthdays so there was a few of us age ranging from 13-71
First disappointment was the usual display of funky mocktails which have been served to my children previously (bearing in mine they are now a lot older) apparently you don’t serve dry ice to children 🤷🏽‍♀️ ok, I accept that now but it didn’t stop you a few years ago, ok. What my daughter was supplied with was probably more harmful with the bright purple colouring. She didn’t drink it and ordered a coke.
The biggest disappointment, the food. While most eating were satisfied some of us like a bit of flavour.
What I ordered should have had something especially as it stated it was a curry. It just tasted wet! Rice was over cooked and again zero seasoning and there was no element of spice.

When your waiter asks if everything was ok I do feel that additional training is required if the customer says no.
To be met with there is much I can do and I wouldn’t know how it should taste as I don’t eat curry isn’t satisfactory answer.
I won’t be dining here again. I suggest you stick to serving swanky and impressive cocktails going forward

Empty pub with more staff than customers. No mixology at all just premixed drinks that were mediocre at best.

Stained seats, toilets a mess and the bar guy used the toilet didn’t wash his hands and returned to the bar.

For the price it’s normal to expect something more than a drink you can make yourself. Crappy brand with zero attention to detail.
