Was just charged £13.50 for a Negroni in Cheltenham, the menu priced the drink at £12 and for the first time, I didn't have the choice to add a tip. I suspect that was done for me by the barperson! Same drink was £10.50 just weeks ago. Was a regular here but this place has priced itself out of the game.

My Wife and myself attended Alchemist St James Quarter recently and it was one of the worst experiences that we ever had. Having purchased a couple of cocktails at over inflated prices we decided to try something else, I ordered a French Martini and to my disappointment the cocktail was disgusting, I decided to take the Coktail back to the bar where the barman asked me what was wrong with the drink I told him that it wasn't a French Martini he then proceeded to get the head barman when he came up to me he asked the same question he then tasted it and said there was nothing wrong with it he then proceed to make another Martini and it was exactly the same I then returned the drink again and his attitude was disgusting, he was less than pleased because I had returned the drink twice. At £11.00 a drink I would think the service would have been better so if people are thinking about having a night out with cocktails I suggest that they give the Alchemist a wide berth.

My wife and I attended the Newcastle branch for breakfast as we have done several times before. The food was nice and waitress Amy was very attentive and friendly.

We came in to celebrate a 60th birthday. The staff were so friendly, polite and helpful. They made us feel welcome and special. The food was amazing and I highly recommend trying the ice cream for your dessert.

Special thanks go to Kamron, our waiter. He was always smiling and nothing was too much effort for him.

Noice drinks and good food. A bit much sauce on the bang bang salad, but it was great sauce, so only half a complaint. Service guy was very friendly and nice. We got everything very quickly, and were on our way again in no time. Would come again!

Overpriced drinks that leave a lot to he desired. Toilets are disgusting. Dont bother wasting time here

Gorgeous venue, amazing cocktails, fantastic music BUT all bar staff very unkempt. 1 mix olagist had very worn grey tracksuit bottoms and filthy trainers and an old t-shirt, hair needing cut. His choice of sexual language while serving the French Kiss wasn't entirely suitable. Serving the drink which comes with a tongue and said, if I can't lick you then you can have this!! We left then!!

Love the Alchemist normally but in to meet pals in Edinburgh on 25Jan24. No sign on door that there was a private party and it was closed to public; walked in, bought a drink and then was asked to leave because they were closed. Not asked particularly politely and friends were stopped at door. Yeah, how to treat you customers!

Heard so much and first time visiting this chain as a late graduation celebration for a family member.

Disinterested staff, slovenly manager. You name it, it went wrong.

Staff member sneezing onto her sleeve repeatedly.

Kitchen staff shouting loudly across the restaurant when food ready.

Never again.

Brendan in Bevis Marks the Alchemist was absolutely fantastic tonight and made our night. Cocktails were great too. Thank you, we'll be back!

Visited The Alchemist in Liverpool recently and really enjoyed it. The presentation of the food is brilliant if you’re looking for something a bit different. Cocktails were also brilliantly presented, very theatrical. The only downside was that our server was miserable. At one point our server went AWOL and Kieran stepped in to help us out. He was amazing, couldn’t do enough for us! He made us feel so welcome, explained everything, made sure we had everything we needed and redeemed The Alchemist. We hope Kieran was given the tip we left as he made it a memorable experience!

Great atmosphere… but the staff make it. Ben was behind the bar … from the moment I walked in he made me feel welcome and was excellent … only came in for a beer and ended up spending £27 on all sorts of food and delights… he is a credit to the business … If you have a business full of people like Ben, everything else will sort itself out.
At one point a junior member of staff who was collecting glasses, had a bit of a nightmare, and dropped some glasses … a great example of the culture was that her colleagues (including Ben) went to help her and her boss (Giada) reassured her. You can learn a lot about culture and people when things go wrong … 😎👍

Amazing! I Loved that place!

A great place and been here a couple of times for food and drink. This time was not a great experience. Had a table booked which we were not able to sit at for 35 mins after initial booking time. The music was so loud in there myself and friends could not speak to each other without shouting. The food was nothing special. Most of mine was stuck to the serving board so couldn’t eat it. Very disappointing.

One of the best places in CW. Love the atmosphere. The best cocktails in town.
