An initial faulty installation of a Tracker Locate system
I have always found those installation companies that fit Tracker automotive tracking systems pretty good, but unfortunately the guy from RS Connect who attempted to fit a Tracker Locate system to my GR Yaris (second gen) recently wired the system incorrectly at my local Toyota dealership. As a result, the battery voltage on a pretty new car dropped to about 3.2V, and some of the car’s features, such as the front passenger-side electric window, temporarily stopped working. His wiring also blew a 20V fuse in the car. To give RS Connect their due, on being contacted about the faulty installation on the afternoon of the day its had been done, they sent a technical manager out first thing the next morning, who corrected the faulty wiring, and the issue was resolved.I much appreciated the company’s speed of response.

Exceptional customer service.
I have a Tracker fitted to my Toyota vehicle with Stop / Start which is particularly susceptible to theft and was part of a Toyota customer satisfaction campaign. Tracker are one of the industry leaders in this field so it is comforting to have this additional security in addition to a good old fashioned wheel lock! I had to contact Tracker to initiate a change in my contact details and had a reply within a couple of hours confirming the change together with an updated registration document, exceptional service.

I had tracker installed into my last 2 cars having served as a police officer for 30 years and recognising that tracking systems and Tracker in particular was a massive leap forward in recovering stolen property. I am in the process of arranging for a system to be installed in my next car as well. The initial installation was very smoothly arranged and performed. After a few years the unit was replaced during service by a tracker installer as technology had moved on. I was however very lucky that I had paid for a lifelong ownership subscription which were available at the time but don’t seem to be anymore which is unfortunate if you keep a car for a long time as I do.
