Absolutely Disgusted
If I could rate a Zero I would. Paid for my item to be returned/ shipped back to China.
Which arrived in the country (I had tracking) only for it to be sent back to me months later. Noting that destination not available. So out of pocket for the item I bought and paid for shipping return. When in communications with seller, (only by email) they cannot do anything until they received it back at warehouse where it was dispatched from. Really!!!
Definitely some sort of scam. Never buy from Velvet Lane Bouquet

DO NOT BUY FROM THEM! Chinese scammers, being deceitful, advertising as a Melbourne company. I received dodgy boots, that look NOTHING like the product advertised. When I complained, they offered 20% off next order, then 30%, each time I emphasised that I would NEVER buy from them again. I spent $70 returning them, only to have the parcel remain in customs (the seller is suppose to pay customs fees) and have them returned. A 6 month process. When speaking with Australia Post, this is a common problem with Chinese sellers. I am stuck with a terrible product, and out of pocket on postage. If I can save one (and hopefully more) person/s from ever getting caught out by these dodgy brothers, then at least that will make me feel better. Please always check review of company first. Learnt my lesson!

I bought online five articles of clothing from this company, when they arrived they were nothing like the advertised articles, cheap materials and clearly very bad copies. I have since tried to return the articles and was given an address in China. The parcel never arrived at this address( perhaps a false address) and the refund would not be processed until they received the parcel. After several emails back and forth and months later the parcel has arrived back at my address. I have emailed 4 times to advise of this situation and have not received a reply. This is a completely dodgy company, don’t spend any money with them, they need to be investigated! I am extremely upset with the whole process and, like another reviewer, wouldn’t give them one star if possible.

Shoes not as described. Was meant to be Birkenstocks. They were done cheap ugly sandle. Sent back to china as stated for full refund and nothing given. Do not use this company.

I am being honest - if 1 star is the lowest one can give a company in a review then that is too good for Velvet Lane - I would rate them a minus 5 stars.
They have my $'s - but I do not have the goods after 2 months waiting for them. They should be struck off the internet.

Buyers beware. Have been chasing a refund for 3 months. You send the goods and they get “stuck in costoms”. Money gone authorities alerted. Told them I would update you all daily until action happens. Let’s see. Goods nothing like photo thus the return.

DO NOT SHOP with this so called Boutique, as they do not exist...
I returned an order to them in China, paid 43.65 on the 29th November 2025.
Since then, I waited a month before making an enquiry as to when will I receive my Refund of $143.20. Their reply then, at the start of December 2025 was advising me that my order is with Customs.
I have made dozens & dozens of enquiries with them & constantly have the same reply: Your order is with Customs (But do not add: AWAITING PAYMENT BY THEM!)
It is now mid-February 2026 & still no refund has been received, so what can I say regarding the Velvet Lane Boutique, except DO NOT MAKE A PURCHASE WITH THEM - This Boutique is NOT GENUINE & they should be ashamed of the manner in which they respond to genuine customers!

I ordered a dress for summer - it looked lovely in the photos. Waited close to 6 weeks for it to arrive. During this time I received almost daily automated responses telling me it would arrive soon to keep the illusion that this is a shop/business in Melbourne - it is not!
When the dress arrived the fabric was revolting - a tough very cheap acrylic in breathable fabric that was almost stiff to touch. I asked to return it and receive a refund - no problem they said - great I thought

However I have to pay for the return to cla place in China by express post which would cost almost double the amount o paid for the dress and it needed to get to the china factory within 30 days or they wouldn't give me the refund and there was no guarantee that it would get there because they couldn't guarantee that even if I paid for tracking it would arrive.

So after going back and forward with a very polite HR bot (or maybe a person) I decided to give the dress to Vinnie's.

This is not a business based in Australia, the product was very much substandard and getting a refund is pretty much impossible - do not buy from this business

DO NOT BUY FROM THEM EVER! My experience with Velvet Lane Boutique has to be easily my worst online shopping experience ever! I am writing this review hoping others won't have to go through what I did. I placed the order in early Aug 2025, and returned the items as soon as I received them on Aug 30th, 2025. It's Feb 2026, they claimed they still have not received the returned goods, whilst the person in charge in China confirmed the receipt! It is just unbelievable! I will report this type of practise to Fair Trading if they fail to process the refund.

Firstly make sure you are aware prior to orer from them that,
1. any returns will have to be posted back to China, at your own expenses, for a possible refund. Plus you can only choose their preferred courier company, the postage is very expensive, often more than the cost of your order
2. Customer service is of poor quality, they couldn't even give an answer to a straight forward enquiry regarding sizing, so I ended up ordering a size by guessing.
3. The items I ordered, a skirt and pants, look drastically different from how they appear on the website, from material to craftsmanship, very poor quality. They can't even compare with Kmart quality. They look so bad, we won't wear them.
4. A long delay in shipping, which I realised now that they must have been shipped from China, after I placed the order. They should have made the buyers aware of this condition.
5. The refund process is so painful and expensive, I'm considering just donating these items, brand new, in their original packing and don't even bother with the refund. Mind you, the original packaging is just a zip bag, there are no tags, sizing or care information on the clothing at all.
6. In Feb, I provided proof to them that the returned item have been received by their warehouse in China. As of today, March 30 2026, I heard nothing from Velvet Lane Boutique about the refund, and they seem to have disappeared!

Scam! Cheap polyester garbage clothes, not as shown on the websites.

This company are scammers. There is no contact number, only email. They lead you to believe they are in Australia when they are in China. When I recieved my purchases not one matched the description. Very poor quality. When I requested a refund 8 months ago they made me pay to return the products to a Chinese address. They keep putting me off when I try to email them asking what is going on and I still have not recieved any money back. Fraudsters, beware.

-zero stars times 1000. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS ONLINE STORE IN CHINA. They have no store or holding place in Melbourne making you think it’s an Australia store, they use fake photos and the clothing couldn’t be further from the pictures. When you try and return it the you offer 10%, 20% etc off next purchases if you agree not to return and when you insist on returning an unworn item not fit for wearing they insist on it being tracked which they say will cost you +$55 and then only getting back about 10-20% of your original garment cost. The garments are cheaply made and even the accessories are not fit for the function you require. Then they stop answering your emails so you are stuck with the product. They are fraudulently operating under false pretences and they have been reported. Don't be fooled!

Do not buy from this company. What is online in the image is not what you receive. I ordered a men's matching set and what I received was like silk kids poorly made pyjamas. Lost my $80

Item ordered was not Suede as advertised! Requested refund but had to return product first.
Fine. They sent a return address label, I had to pay the postage! The item never reached it's destination and after 6 months came back to me! I believe their address was bogus!

If I could I rate this company 0 stars. I ordered two dresses for my wife six weeks before Christmas I received one dress a few days before Christmas then a random dress I didn't order a week after Christmas. My wife has been emailing with them since then about how it's the wrong dress, they tried saying it was the same dress as in the picture. Totally different colour totally different pater and cut. They want us to send back the wrong dress and pay for shipping, they wont cover shipping for there mistake and want us to pay for shipping of the correct dress and now the dress I originally ordered is apparently out of stock. The worst company to deal with DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

Do not purchase from this company. Purchased a Polo Shirt for a Christmas present only to receive it after Christmas and this was a cheaply made round neck top. When contacted they didn't want to refund and said they will send out the correct Polo Shirt and just received that and again cheaply made nothing like what was advertised. Promote themselves as an Australian company but definitely not, comes from China. From when I put my order to finally receiving the so called correct product took almost 9 weeks. Never want to refund either.

This is a terrible company to deal with. I have bought a pair of silver orthopedic shoes for myself decided to order a pair silver in size 6 for my friend in Melbourne is a surprise for Christmas
I took it sweet time. I’m getting there before I start.
Then when she opened them, they were Gold. I specifically have the proof that I ordered silver. Company said it was a glitch on their website.
They wanted $17.50 from me to repost to silver pay I was willing to do that as well but it’s ongoing. This has been one month now.
When I finally got up the website going backwards and forwards with emails
Them giving me a code that doesn’t work and then I’ve ordered a pair of silver this morning in size 36 put in a code as they advised that they will discount the shoes to the $17.50 for postage
They charge me $ 79.95
And on top of it,i ordered silver hundred percent, and my invoice says that Gold again
This is unacceptable and I’m taking it to the ombudsman now
Velvet Lane can you please cancel my order from today 15th of January 2026immediately and return my money to my credit card?
This is a scam and it’s not fair. I believe your company’s got more issues than I’m saying here cause I’ve read that reviews.
I’m not joking. I spent so much time on this. You’re giving me the pulse information and then the product doesn’t matter what I’ve ordered.

I purchased what was advertised as a “Hugo | Men’s Merino Polo Shirt” for $67.95. What I received was not Hugo, but a no-name shirt commonly sold on Alibaba/AliExpress for a fraction of the price.

Both identifying labels were deliberately removed, one torn off and the internal tag cut out with scissors, making it impossible to verify the brand or size. That alone should be a red flag.

Despite advertising themselves as Melbourne-based, the item was shipped from China. When I requested a refund for an item that was not as described, I was told I had to return it to China at my own expense (around £50), which is completely unreasonable.

Instead of a refund, the company repeatedly offered discount vouchers (20% then 70%) to encourage another purchase — something I would never consider after this experience.

I also asked for their registered Australian business name and ACN/ABN, which are legally required to be displayed by Australian online retailers. These details were not provided.

This was a misleading purchase from start to finish. I’ve cut my losses and thrown the item away, but I’m leaving this review in the hope it stops someone else from being misled in the same way.

Proceed with extreme caution.

I ordered items on 9 December 2025, and was later told the delivery company (which does not exist!) could not deliver due to an “insufficient address.” Since then, I’ve received email after email with conflicting information and was even asked to chase the delivery company myself.
I have requested a refund multiple times, but it has been refused. This company is completely unreliable and appears illegitimate. Do not purchase from them!
