Firstly after forwarding a copy of the transaction they failed to for a week or so to acknowledge or provide an order number.
There is no tracking of the product and it’s in excess of a month and product not received supposedly out of Melbourne.
Resist buying from this site as it will be a waste of money, time not to mention the frustration associated with.

DO NOT BUY from Velvet Lane Boutique. The clothing is cheap polyester. From a distance they look the same in the picture, which is what they said to me "they look the same", but the material was definitely not as described. No refunds are given. The only way to receive anything is to choose another cheap and nasty product of the same value. How do we stop companies.

The $103 sandals have started falling apart after a week. Requests for a refund are met with shoddy offers and an expectation that I pay international shipping to return if I want a full refund . Refusal to cover this cost themselves

I have also experienced this scam company, sending the cheapest made products ever seen, and then refusing to give a refund until the goods are returned. My goods are presently being held by customs as there is either a problem with the address of which the company says is legit, or an issue with taxes or duties, of which the company has made no mention of in their return policy.
I have however lodged a complaint with the e consumer gov website that you can find on the ACCC website. It is part of ICPEN, which is the international consumer protection enforcement network. You can report scams to it.

DO NOT buy from this company. Clothes are not as advertised, returns have to be sent to China and you will never see a refund. They do no reply to emails, they should be shut down as any one purchasing from them will just be throwing money away!! I was told my items are shipped from Australia but returns are at a cost as they need to be returned to China. I returned my item and endless amount of emails to follow up on my refund with no reply! Absolute scam!! The website is so misleading, pictures shown are over exaggerated as when you receive the item it is made from the most disgusting materials and so very cheap!

Order arrived late. Was not the same product as pictured online. Requested refund, which they agreed, but item had to be returned to China, which I was quoted $260 for!! Absolutely fraudulent company.

Items not as described, does not conform to Australian Consumer Law. This shop is a scam.

I ordered a couple of dresses and a jacket that were all too small, sent them back for a refund, and that was in October. They have not refunded me as yet!!
The sizes are not Australian sizes, and the website makes it seem as though they are based in Melbourne, which is not true at all. Please do not order from them!

Total fraud of a company. Items were obviously drop shipped from china and the shoes I received were probably worth about 50cents the quality and sizing are so bad.

Just sharing my experience — payment taken, product took over 4 weeks to deliver and only after numerous emails response to emails limited and passed all concerns to courier although could not give details of name of courier. After going to all couriers in local town found item. Item was very poor quality and nothing like the website indicated. It states they are a Melbourne based company but when I wanted to return item Velvet Lane said that was not recommended and there was not assurance a credit could be provided. This company is located in China not Melbourne.
Please research carefully before purchasing!

They should be closed down! What a scam, cheap $2 items dropped shipped from China. These people are a disgrace and give all online retailers a bad reputation. Disgusting.

Would rate 0 if I could; shoddy quality made in China; deceptively poses as an Australian company; offers returns but you must pay for postage to China and the company never acknowledges receipt so never refunds. Avoid at all costs. You are throwing money away!

Just like many of the others here, I was duped into thinking this was a local Australian company. The items on their website look classy and well made. What I got was ghastly! The material was a thick, hot, man-made fabric, printed on one side to poorly mimic the original. The sizing was terrible - I bought a large and it was huge on me (I'm 176cm tall), the sleeves were way too long, and the buttons were straight off men's pyjamas. I think they used a men's pattern as it was completely shapeless and buttoned the wrong side. I immediately contacted their support and was offered store credit. As I won't ever be getting anything from these scam artists again, I declined. I'm not paying for further shipping and handling either. They won't agree to a refund, so I guess I'm $120.00+ out of pocket. Do not buy from this store!

Unfortunately unable to rate as a zero. Purchased items from what I believed to be reputable local company, but this was not the case. Items were significantly poor quality, shipped out of China and unable to be returned locally.

Raised the issue with the support team and was informed to send the $68 item back to their Chinese warehouse by DHL track postage which would cost $269 and would not receive these funds back.

Support agreed the items are not satisfactory, and stated they’d accept the return under those conditions. After receiving the quote for return postage I opted to cut my loss, and check for reviews.

This company is a scam. They sent shoes which is NOT orthopedic. They will not provide a refund unless I, at my own cost send them back to China. Australian consumer laws state this is not legal. This company should not be allowed to continue to trade.

I made the mistake of believing Velvet Lane Boutique is based in Melbourne. I ordered what looked like the perfect dress for myself. In the pictures it looked wonderful and appeared to be about the right price. It cost about $AU80.00. The dress arrived about three weeks later and I won't be able to wear it. It is like donning a plastic bag as the fabric appears to be woven and printed plastic. A summer dress in which I will do nothing but perspire. The dress looks little like the picture advertised although what "got me in" was the colours of the print, which believe it not, is somewhat true to the advertisement!

If I could leave a 0 rating I would. Like all the other reviews, thought I was buying local, but they scam you into thinking they’re in Australia when they’re overseas. Brought knock off birks, sizing was way off, site says can get refunded if within 30 days, the day they arrived, tried on, way too big. Followed the steps listed had one email straight away and then didn’t hear back. Upon reading through reviews, now realise I’m also a sucker! Stay away and save your money!

Not what I ordered it was cheap mens polo shirts, the care and size labels have been removed and they are not Melbourne based pack of scamming individuals

Well after paying via b pay ( 10 mins.) I realised that there was an error on my shipping adress.
I contacted Velvets lanes service immediately. I recieve a reply stating that the error had been corrected and that I will receive tracking notice when shipped.
That came 2 days later and to my surprise the wrong adress still applied.
Since I have contacted 5 times and receive replys that are accumulated aggravation as all replys apologise for the delay in my delivery
It's like talking to a brick wall.
I have now asked for my money to be returned , and finally O get a sensible reply stating that there are no refunds after shipping!!!
Interestingly they state to be a Melboure based business but they have no phone contact available and the tracking starts in China!
Avoid them!

Given the website quality and showing Melbourne based quality linen clothing we purchased linen shorts and shirts for my partner and I a shirt, a dress and pants and they are HORRID! The quality is POOR, no labels, sizing is crap. But essentially the quality is the worst it’s like cardboard left in the sun to dry while it was on the boat on the way over here and it varies from product to product. My partners shirt is so think it’s literally see through, my dress is more set for a cold winters day and other stuff is simply not linen at all!
I would have been better buying from Kmart!
I’ve asked for a refund and told indeed I must send them back to China, and now I’m reading the reviews (which I wish I did before buying) I don’t think sending the stuff back is a good idea because it seems I will likely not end up with my money back.
I purchased in November they took ages to come and now I know that them being in China is why.
The site and company is a scam.
