Let's get rid of VW

Wow, where do I start from?

I'm disgusted at the level of service that Volkswagen provide as part of their package as an absolute.

I will be advising my 500k followers on social media platforms never to part cash with Volkswagen UK 00514809.

A vehicle that was meant to be delivered for the 2nd of September 2018 is now being delivered for the 17th of October 2018.

I contacted Ms Alison Jones (director of Volkswagen UK) Ms Jones couldn't be bothered to look into my complaint, thus she sent it down to the customer relations team - I was contacted by Ms Meera Chand (customer relations manager) I was hoping that this situation was going to be dealt with professionalism, rather Ms Chand wanted to close this matter so promptly that she actually offended me by making me feel how the dealership made me feel- undervalued!

She was so adamant that the sales teams at Alan Day (City) have not made a single mistake- they gave us a document stating the vehicle will be delivered within a certain date and then changed their mind and by miracle they added another 45 days.

Ms Chand further added that the vehicle has been at the dealership since the 28th of September, so Alan Day (city) has made me wait 2 weeks for no reason when they could have told me to come and pick up the vehicle.
what a bloody joke!

I ordered a Volkswagen Tiguan (nothing special) which took 4 months to be delivered when I was advised it would take less than 3 months for delivery.

I can honestly say this was the first and  the very last time myself my friends and family would be dealing with Volkswagen as an absolute.

When you have the management team that have no business ethics no morals how would it resonate through the pecking order? Hmmm

Come on people let's get Volkswagen off our streets, and replace them with reputable German vehicle manufacturers!

I think Volkswagen have a thing for lying and fabricating on everything even their emissions

Unsafe, unroadworthy and dangerous vehicle covered by comprehensive warranty with so many exclusions it is not comprehensive. Shame on VWCV

VWCW comprehensive warranty excludes more than it covers and is not worth the paper it is written on. Thankfully the franchised dealers have a conscience. DO NOT BUY VW WARRANTY in our experience it is awful and did not cover a dangerous dcomplete rear axle brake failure very soon after a comprehensive check. SHAME on VWCV they take your money and comprehensively deny your claim.

My son bought a VW Amarok from VW which was covered by a 'Comprehensive' warranty. 4000 road miles later used as a car not commercially it failed the mot for having dangerous brakes and the mot could not even be completed due to their condition. This was at only 40% betwen service intervals although we remain unsure at what point the failures occured it may have been far sooner. The simple fact is the front brakes were ok. Serious deterioration of the rear brakes was quite equal and my son noticed no change. So were the brakes like this from day 1? The fuel economy was always noted as being lower than it should have been so it's quite possible.

A seized hand brake cable and failed brake cylinders caused the brake shoes to lock on and damage the drums and shoes welding them on. So it seems that the vehicle was not efficiently checked prior to sale. It also seems that the warranty is pretty useless it took almost three weeks of arguing to get them to repair FOC seemingly accepting no liability. This was after several offers of discount of 12%, 15% then 50% approximately.

A written request to be able to keep the damaged components was totally ignored by VW.

Then they lumbered my son with a £530 hire bill for a car they arranged and told him they would inform him if he would be billed which they did not. It seems from where we are stood that VW can sell anything thats in poor condition and unchecked thoroughly despite being advertised to have a 100 plus point check then blame a serious failure on the purchaser. No scruples hard nosed businessmen who car only about money and not safety it seems.

Communication was poor from VW I wrote about 6 emails to which I only ever had one written reply. They try not to put anything in writing and keep you in the dark. The experience was extremely poor and lacked any realistic sort of customer service, the operatives were aggressive in how they spoke and confrontational. I was most disappointed.

Despite it being VW sold pre-existing problems are not covered despite VW assuring the quality of the vehicle with a so called comprehensive check before sale.

All I can say is I have had two Isuzu Dmax and no such similar problems despite heavy commercial usage off road, load carrying and towing with far more miles involved. I can't believe that Isuzu's build quality is vastly superior so that only leaves a dodgy inspection by VW that failed to pin point the faults. VW inspection & warranty- not worth the paper it is written on it would appear. VW safety standards- VW couldn't care less it appears. Its a heads VW win Tails you lose situation. The comprehensive insurance appears to be mis-named as it excludes to many things to be reasonable. VW please check your dictionary. Unless it's supposed to mean it will comprehensively be no use...

These guys are an absolute joke

These guys are an absolute joke
They pedal vehicles with inherent engine faults - Check the VW forums before you buy a 1.6tdi caddy or T6, T5
They do not have the decency to even return calls after they promise to do so after their intervention fails. Dead trails in the hope that the customer, and their developed problem will disappear. I have never been so baddly treated but an organisation. There are now two T6 VW's in my town advertising why you should not buy a VW.
Laurels well fallen, avoid

VW van paint warranty appears valueless - red fades badly in 2 years

My new T30, factory high roof with UK campervan conversion was salsa red on delivery in 2015. By Summer 2017 it was red with a mottled white roof. My warranty claim was first suggested invalid ("factory records show not a VW high roof") then, after this was proven untrue, delayed for months. After two separate inspections - 2nd by a VW-appointed "independent inspector" I never met - I was told a report went to VW central, outcome awaited. Now, after weeks of no news, I pressed for information and am told my claim was rejected at 2nd inspection. Needless to say, I've not seen any inspection report. The story will not end here!

Purchased an VW Approved used (7k …

Purchased an VW Approved used (7k Miles) VW Transporter Kombi. From day one the side windows have leaked. The vehicle has now been in for repair 9 times and is still leaking. VW, The VW approved dealer and the VW approved repair van centre cannot fix the problem.
VW's latest answer is "to have none opening side windows fitted as we cannot stop the leak" Do you really think that is acceptable on a £30k vehicle? I think not!
You offer a second rate warranty and a third world customer service.
My advice to commercial vehicle purchasers is to opt the Mercedes at similar costs or the Renault and have an extra £15k your bank account.

VW Inchcape Commercial Van Centre …

VW Inchcape Commercial Van Centre (Cheltenham.) Damaged my Amarok whilst it was under their responsibility. The sequence of events outlined below, is shocking behaviour, proper arrogant in their response and customer service, even though they have taken responsibility for causing the damage.... People should be aware of what they are dealing with here... Some customer care training strongly advised......

Dear Mr Lee.
Thank you for your response. However this situation seems to be escalating in every direction but the one which would save some face for Inchcape in eyes of its 'good faith' customers....
I may just point that, at this juncture, the reason for my Amarok coming back in, was for VW in particular 'Inchcape' to effect repairs it caused to the vehicle whilst it was under the 'businesses' care and responsibility. Not as you suggest a gesture of good will!
I have refrained from patronising Inchcape to date respects this incident as my desire is to thread a path through this with a successful outcome for both parties... I would expect the same curtoseys in return.
I will come to the sequence of events in a moment.
My conversation with Ashton concluded with a phone call request from yourself, as you maintained some objectivity when we spoke previously.
Ashton seemed to take the view that this situation is my responsibility. How possible since the damage occurred whilst the vehicle was with yourselves.... which has been established..... Hence request a conversation with yourself on Wednesday morning to avoid having to go round the houses with people hiding behind e mails, messengers instead of grasping the nettle and taking ownership of responsibility...
What happened was a returned call from Steve. (Sales manager, I believe.) During which the sequence of events was reiterated discussed and agreed, responsibility taken, dates of next Thursday and Friday agreed as suitable for Inchcape to complete its remedial works task for the damage it caused..... The call concluded with Steve saying he was going to outline the content of our reasonable conversation by e mail prior to the vehicles being exchanged with mine not having the damaged repaired completely. The courtesy vehicle was collected Wednesday pm.....

My first call with Ashton was circa 10 am.. why oh why was the situation and the complete repair requirement not fulfilled... my Amarok was still in the body shop at the time of the call. Surely getting on completing the task would have been sense.
Absolutely non-sensical not too....

Simply put, I should not have had to take any photographs full stop... VW Inchcape should have been looking to get in front of this, once the vehicle was back with you, inspected, at which point surely (especially given the sequence of events that brings us here in the 1st place,) there would have been some form of communication identifying with the damage and the repairs in detail to be effected.
None of this happened! You gents are in the motor industry... Anyone from any walk of life and any age, would be able to clearly see without doubt that the bend in the bumper cap (if this is what it is called) and the damage to the panel just below the RHR light cluster happened during the same incident, which we have established happened while the vehicle was in your care.
I am sorry sir but I don't reverse into things!!! Nor has any one else bumped into me. The damages in question including the bend in the bumper cap is VW Inchcape responsibility.

This was simply supposed to be the vehicles first major service and MOT. Scheduled to take most of one day...
At the point of placing the vehicle into your care, I made myself known to Oliver, expressing a keen interest in replacing my vehicle with a new one. You would have thought that would prompt him to follow up as he said he would. (Nothing!)
To be told later that day mine has failed its MOT, the reason, the vehicle was not made to meet the DoT criteror of the British Isles... (Really!) That to get my vehicle through its MOT there was a 'dirty fix' suggested by your good self, taking the power feed from factory fitted lights on the roof bar rendering them redundant and re wiring this to the non functioning head lamps to limp it through its MOT. (No thank you. The mere suggestion of it flags up assorted of alarm bells.)
This in turn added a full 24hrs to the initial scheduled allotted time frame of within a working day...
I can only presume that the wiring to headlamps was done properly using bonafide VW parts. (This will now potentially have to be checked.)
So when collecting the vehicle it was presented back to me post service, by Kevin with a flat tyre, so "let's get some air in this, before I head off, if that's not too much trouble." Kevin had some difficulty manoeuvring the vehicle to the air point, and blamed customer parking in the wrong place and lack of space on your business premises (Interesting!)
I had an appointment to replace the rear tyres post MOT, which I had to rescheduled due to delays previously mentioned.
When I did replace the back tyres I was told that it could have been repaired, had it not been driven on whilst deflated.... there was 4000 miles left in those tyres... picking up punctures and nails happens, it's a pain but damage limitation is that they can be repaired if there is no damage to the side wall. Damage to the side wall only occurs if driven on deflated.... I certainly didn't as it would be at my cost, all this was made very clear to the Ashton and Kevin when dropping the vehicle off. (Clearly it did not register!)
Upon returning to my office I note the damage and call Ashton, he asked for images, keen to note it is nearing the end of the working day, I surly oblige, and rush these across, at which point this goes round the houses until we speak. (I ask you how that would make you feel if you were the 'good faith' customer?)
So we scheduled the repairs to be effected, we even picked up on Olivers lack of communications. He rang, we chatted, agreed he would bring together a quote and be in touch (Nothing!) and ensured the Amarok V6 Demo would be booked available as my curtesy vehicle to double as a test drive.(This didn't happen and a van turned up) He is in new vehicle sales I assume....
Then we get to Wednesday circa 10am, and we are where we are currently.

Quite a sequence of events so far, I think you will agree, surging from one debacle to the next, where there seems to be a lack of customer facing communication, let alone customer care, resulting in terrible internal communication, scheduling, efficiencies, and productivity within VW Inchcape.

So now we are back to where we were the day I collected the vehicle post MOT.

I don't understand why, once you picked this up, you have not seen this though personally, clearly would have been the cost and time effective route... I am sure you are busy, as we all are, to have this added to my workload is unnecessary to say the least, and seriously question the customer care afforded to me in this, however the profile of these things can clearly escalate so very quickly without good management in place.

Sell a new vehicle and keep a 'good faith' customer, using this as an experience to lead your team forwards with, to develop from or gain a dollop of bad press loosing certainly my 'good faith' custom and pick up a bill from a body shop operation local to me to complete the repairs resulting from the damage Inchcape is responsible for etc...
