We stayed at Heythrop park on the 13th July and experienced some issues which ruined our first stay with Warner Hotels. On the 15th I emailed customer services with a formal complaint listing the issues we faced. Albeit I have since followed up with another email, and filled out the customer survey with the same issues highlighted. We have had no response whatsoever! I feel that Warner Hotels do not care about their customers if they did a response would have been received. Very poor service and has now put us off rebooking withe Warner

Having supposedly spent £millions on upgrading Thoresby Hall we were expecting an improvement from our previous visits We were very disappointed.
To keep it brief, the room was well decorated but there was no ventilation so it was unbearably hot. Maybe Warners aren't aware of global warming, if they were they would have spent some of the millions on bringing the H & V into the 21st century.
The food choice was much more limited than we had expected and it was badly cooked, especially the dinners. We needed a saw to cut the roast potatoes and yorkshire pudding and the fish was invariably dry bordering on inedible.
Completely different from our visit to Nidd Hall earlier this year.
Warner's have gone in for penny pinching, big time.
PS In response to Warner's statement that fans were available. Yes they were but they were a complete waste of time, all they did was move very warm air around the room.

Our love affair with Thoresby Hall has sadly come to an end after multiple visits over the last 6 years.
They recently became a reserve location that sadly has made the whole experience go downhill.
Could not fault the staff, food or rooms. All was impeccable. The staff are friendly, professional and organised, working with the new boundaries and guidelines that the new title of Reserve destination brings.
For first time visitors, they would not know what to expect and would be satisfied.
I e mailed the manager 3 times over the last 2 weeks to give them chance to rectify matters, but sadly the main points were totally ignored.
We booked for VIP experience for two rooms as well as early check in and late departure for both rooms.
On arrival we were given our room cards and they had not been activated. It took 3 return walks to reception before being rectified. This was most frustrating as my mobility is not great and was a very hot day.
On going into the show area in the evening, we had paid for 4 vip places (1 guest did not come on the break) our places had been taken by other guests. This was down to bad signage, a small reserved card attached to the drinks menu, in the past, this was far more clearly marked. The guests could be forgiven for not realising as one needed to have 20/20 vision to read this! A staff member had to ask them to move. The second evening exactly the same! Third night our space was barely enough for 2 people, never mind 3 of us (bear in mind we had paid for 4 vip seats and no refund for the absent guest) we were packed in like sardines in between 2 other parties which made for a very uncomfortable experience.
We had paid for late check out for 12 noon for both rooms. We went to the rooms at just after 11 and there was a guest waiting outside one of the rooms. Our room card had been deactivated and the new guests card worked! I went to complain to reception and they could not understand how this happened. We actually felt compelled to vacate earlier than what we had paid for.
Lastly, before become a reserve destination, rooms were cleaned daily, tea, coffee, biscuits, snacks and water were replenished daily.
Now since becoming a Reserve destination, rooms are only cleaned after 2 nights, water not replenished (had to buy at bar for 3 times amount one would pay in a supermarket) extra snacks apart from biscuits now no longer supplied.
Actually felt let down as we were fully expecting the same quality of extras that we had become accustomed to in the past.
Thanks Thoresby Hall for ignoring our concerns after receiving 3 e mails and brushing over the above points. We will now not be back and will not recommend to our network of friends and associates. Will be going to Potters resorts in future. Would have been amazing to receive a resolution to our concerns instead of being totally ignored.

1st of all let me explain I am registered disabled and Blue Badge holder, with mobility issues and can’t walk more than 20x steps and then must use my mobility scooter. We booked the holiday to celebrate my 75th birthday, we’ve been to Warners on numerous occasions before and we were looking for something more upmarket and grandeur for this special occasion so decided to book one of your RESERVE locations, having investigated the various options we chose Thorrsby Hall and booked it via the website with the VIP Experience, there was no option to take out your insurance with this booking.
With my disability in mind there was no option to request a room with a separate walk-in shower on your website and I had to contact Customer Services after making the booking and payment to discover this would cost an additional £20.00 (not happy).
When I made the booking and looked at the dining options it mainly gave me the option for the Blue Room only, but didn’t say there would be a charge of £19.95 per person per dinner and £6.69 per breakfast, we only found out after our 1st meal and subsequently it being added to our account, we managed to change this via reception on the Tuesday morning but had to agree to pay for the additional cost from the Monday night, which we weren’t happy about.
Our bedroom had been lovely refurbished with just enough room to store my mobility scooter, but there was a problem with the bathroom the toilet was much too low with no support handles for getting up and down which is very disconcerting, in addition there was no safety handrails in the shower which was a problem, when this brought up with reception, nothing could be done and alternative was offered.
Getting about the complex, there was lots of problems with the lifts and my scooter (which is a medium sized one) only just fitted in the lift which was very inconvenient.
In the old building to get outside (because of steps) we had to travel the whole length of the building and go through a fire door which was locked after 8:00pm at night, again not very convenient.
The new building was same as the old building, considering this was custom built about 3x years ago no thought has gone into disabled people not just with mobility scooters but with walking frames as well, very poor. After going outside it was very difficult to drive around, as there were no proper pathways except for shale areas.
Not enough disabled parking available, and we had to struggle to get our cases to the room, although Sean helped us find our room no help was given or offered to Carol (my partner) with our cases.
We booked a VIP Experience which was a total waste of money. On the 3x times we used the Live Lounge, having sat at our reserved table and put the light on to request a waiter service, after over 20x minutes nobody came to us and Carol had to go to the bar, ridiculous and what a waste of money.
When you offered a Happy Hour Service (20% discount), we didn’t get the additional discount via our Club Warner scheme, why have it???????
Cleanliness, on numerous occasions in the Market Kitchen we picked up glasses that were dirty, not been washed or had lipstick on them.
Entertainment, having been a professional musician for over 50x years of my life (just retired) the backing band are extremely well qualified musicians as you would expect. However, the entertainment team leave a little to be desired, I’ll point out one show Thursday night, amateurish to say the least, very poor vocally, I would say the 3x performers were more dancers than singers, not very good for a last night’s show.
The visiting 2x entertainers were OK, Laura Broad (tried too hard to please) and was more bothered about her husband guitarist who gave the impression he didn’t really want to be there, and at the end she just walked off and didn’t do an encore, poor. Lucy Conley was more bothered about telling us about her dad, than performing.
The food was very good with a wide choice, but if you’re paying a Premium Price (£978.00 for 4x nights you expect a premium service) you don’t get this at Thoresby Hall unfortunately.
We spoke to lots of people who said they wouldn’t be coming back to Thoresby Hall and we won’t either, in fact one couple said they had made another booking at the time they made this one and they are going to change it.

We were booked for a very expensive (£900 plus) break at Cricket St Thomas from 10th to 13th July. During the week leading up to arrival date the weather was extremely hot and my wife, who has MS suffered never before experienced symptoms, badly swollen legs and ankles. It became so bad that she was unable to walk and not capable of dealing with a 90 minute journey in extreme heat.
Reluctantly we made the decision to cancel the trip. I thought I should tell Warners but soon realised that unlike other hotels I have stayed at you cannot contact them directly and have to go through a customer service filter. I explained what had happened Their first question was had I taken out their cancellation insurance. Suddenly my heart sank. What insurance? Apparently it was mentioned on the online booking process. Stupidly I hadn’t given it an thought. Never normally have to do this at others I have stayed at. So in a nutshell it was tough nuts. Both my daughter and I sent messages to Warners to see if they would help us out, but sadly no reply. We thought at least they might have transferred the booking to another date. My one overriding criticism of Warners is they have lost the human touch. There is much too much reliance on technology. This was a distressing time for my wife and I. We had been looking forward to break which we had chosen specifically so we could see the performance by the Illegal Eagles. We are not able to do much these days because of my wife’s disability and this was special as we had seen the real Eagles in Birmingham before her mobility became so bad. It would have been nice for a few kind words but sadly AI doesn’t cut it.

Two nights Runneymede - spoilt by a simple thing that could have been easily sorted - 1st night over 30 degrees in room, air con out of order so felt unwell all next day, lack of sleep and migraine. No fan supplied until 2nd night. Only offered £50 discount to use on another Warner break, which is available generally to anyone.
The Runneymede is a beautiful hotel in a lovely position on the Thames. We had no complaints about food, no view from window but room was fine so come on Warner, 2 night break was not cheap, just issue a refund of £50 instead of voucher because after reading some of the reviews of other hotels we have no desire to stay at any of them.
Response to above just as unsatisfactory as the 'goodwill' gesture. A colleague just booked and got £50 off, there is nothing good about a discount anyone can get and more to the point we will never be able to use as, as explained we are unable to get away on our own sue to family circumstances.

Just returned from 7 nights at the Bembridge Coast Hotel on the Isle of Wight. First time visit to the island, and to a Warners Hotel; will be returning to the IoW but not Warners any time soon.
Positives: location of the Bembridge Coast Hotel scores 10/10, set amidst beautiful and peaceful surroundings. Complimentary water, biscuits and crips in room. Friendly staff. Plenty of varied daytime activities available, particularly enjoyed outdoor draughts, a guided walk to the Lifeboat Station and the Rock Painting session. Evening entertainment varied.
Negatives: our room was not one of the refurbished ones and it was very dated with fixtures and fittings very worn. Some basic items were missing from the room including tissues, a shaving mirror, and a full-length mirror. Inadequate lighting in the bathroom. Room not vacuumed / bathroom not mopped throughout our one week stay. I enquired at Reception to be told that these tasks are only done on changeover days! Repetitive carvery menu offering two meats from a choice of brisket, gammon, and pork roasts. Mushy vegetables and hard roast potatoes. Other meat and vegetarian dishes were available every day, but these were bland and dried up. Salad basic, consisting of a few lettuce leaves, cucumber and tomato, potato salad complete with black eyes. No shredded carrot, beetroot, radish, or sweetcorn - really simple food stuffs that would make a positive and colourful difference. Starters and desserts okay, choice repeated after 4 days. Breakfast also okay.
Primarily, our party of four are not yet old or infirm enough to feel comfortable enough for another stay at the Bembridge Coast Hotel. Our thoughts and thanks go to all those staff and carers who provide support to those who, otherwise, would not have a holiday in such beautiful and safe surroundings.

Haven’t been to lakeside for 8 months due to bad experience and warners bad reviews thought we would give it one more try . We booked just 2 nights 15-17 July . Our harbour suite was lovely and clean but only one toilet roll and no drinks or nibbles . Went to reception who were lovely and very helpful apologised and gave us more toilet rolls and we went back to our room and a knock on the door with our drinks and nibbles all rectified very quickly . Our entertainment in the afternoon because of the football was Micky zany who was excellent . We watched country Joe singing in the courtyard he also was excellent . We done a quizz we enjoyed that . Didn’t join in anything else in courtyard as too hot . The biggest let down was the food waiters all polite and helpful 1st night nothing on starters I would eat so went to salad bar lucky I did ., carvery roast potatoes were huge with salt and black pepper on the carrots tasted mouldy the gammon was fine but I left most of my dinner as inedible. Pudding was ok . Breakfast next day ok but stone cold gave up getting toast as big queue my husband kept checking for queue to go down to get tea and coffee had to leave his breakfast but didnt matter cold anyway . The carvery that night was exactly same veg so went to chip shop table but the fish was pollock my husband tried it but was little fish and all batter and disgusting so I got some chips went to salad bar and had cold gammon much better also leek and potato soup watery . Warners need to improve their food as it is awful . I cant think of anywhere else that would serve food like it .

Hayling Island The restaurant was like a canteen with a stage, you were allocated a table where you ate and watched the entertainment ,many table had little or no view. The starters and desserts were served (these were good) the main meals were buffet and not very goodThe entertainment varied from very good to awful!
The chairs in the lounge were dirty and need to be cleaned or replaced. The chalets were fine but so hot no air con or fans and a quite a way from main building which in bad weather would not be convenient . Leisure centre and pool were great with varied entertainment. All the staff were excellent and very helpful

Liked:
Staff were pleasant and helpful. Viktoria our table manager was great.
Views across Solent.
Public seating areas plentiful.
Jenny Williams was superb singer.
Most the food.
Location.
Grounds.
Not so good:
Chalets very tired, decor peeling off walls, holes in curtains, throw over worn chair.
Outside lights flickering all night.
£100 extra per person for signature room not worth it.
Food on Monday was poor, all battered offerings (head office apparently withdrew the frames poached fish option on a Monday).
Ran out of certain food on the Monday as they dont stagger the trays of food so each sitting gets some. Ran out again one of the main courses on the Thursday as greedy people going back for seconds and then not eating it all. Maybe have someone serving out the popular dishes to control it better.
Overall our first visit to Warners, weather really made it a great stay. I would go back but would not pay the extra £100 each for a few biscuits, crisps and drinks. Hopefully they will realise there are a lot of complaints about Mondays food and will adjust the menu accordingly.

I am writing a review regarding our recent stay at Bodelwyddan Castle Warner Leisure Hotel from 10-12 September 2026.
We booked one of the best suites available, as we were only staying for two nights and wanted to make the most of our short break. Our room was Suite 615 in Williams Village. On first entering the suite, we were impressed. However, on closer inspection it became apparent that the accommodation fell well below the standard we would expect from Warner Hotels, particularly given the price we paid.
The bathroom had clearly not been cleaned to an acceptable standard. The underside of the bath taps and shower fittings were visibly dirty, and the carpets throughout the suite were grubby and stained in several places. The green Chesterfield sofa was also stained, which significantly detracted from what should have been a premium room.
Later that evening, I attempted to close the bedroom curtains, only for the curtain rail and fittings to come away from the wall completely. As the window is extremely high, it was impossible for me to repair it safely. By this time it was late in the evening and there were no maintenance staff available, so I planned to report it first thing the following morning.
During the night, my wife went into the bathroom and, upon switching on the light, discovered a number of black beetles/insects. On further inspection, we realised they were not confined to the bathroom but were present throughout the suite, including on the carpets and walls.
At approximately 8:00 am on 11 September, we reported both the fallen curtain rail and the insect infestation to reception. We were assured that a member of the maintenance team would attend and assess the room. We then went out for the day expecting the issues to be addressed.
When we returned at around 4:30 pm, no one had visited the room and the insect problem remained exactly as before. We returned to reception to ask why nothing had been done. We were told the reception staff were unaware of the issues we had reported and that the maintenance team had already left for the day. We were offered no practical solution, no alternative accommodation and no attempt was made to rectify the situation.
The second night was equally disappointing. Because the curtains could not be closed, daylight woke us at around 4:00 am. Even more distressing was discovering that the beetles had made their way into our bed.
The following morning, I reported all of these issues again. The receptionist apologised and advised me to submit a formal complaint by email.
Our stay cost £780.01, and whilst we cannot fault either the food or the entertainment, the condition of the accommodation completely overshadowed and ruined what should have been an enjoyable break.
This was our third stay at Bodelwyddan Castle, and we have never experienced anything like this before. We specifically chose to book one of the highest-grade rooms because we expected a premium experience. Unfortunately, the standard of cleanliness, the maintenance issues, the insect infestation and the failure to respond after our concerns were reported meant that this expectation was not met.

I had been given the key card and had set up in my allocated room, only to find out that reception issued the same key card to 2 other guests. Huge admin security breach in my opinion and I have been given no satisfactory answer as to how this happened. This also happened at the same time when at another chain of hotels (not Warners), a serious security breach occurred where someone was put in danger duecto the same thing happening. I wrongly thought Warners would take my concerns more seriously than a £40 voucher which I declined.

After a catalogue of disasters at Warner’s Cricket St Thomas celebrating my birthday in June,
I feel fully justified in writing a bad review.
In December 2025 we booked a break for my birthday for the 26-29th June 2026 at Cricket St Thomas, booking a Signature room, Courtyard area, double, ground floor, walk in shower, lift access (due to my mobility issues) and an early check-in to make the most of our stay.
Two days before our stay, we received a phone call saying that our room would not be available so offered us an upgrade to an historic room in Cricket House, but it didn’t have a walk-in shower. As a gesture for inconvenience, they offered £25 off our account which we accepted.
On arrival at reception at 11:45, reception gave us the key & went to the main house & I politely asked a staff member where the lift was, to which they replied,” There isn’t a lift, it’s a grade two listed building, you just have to use the stairs”! Wow! How rude. I slowly climbed the stairs, realising that this would not be possible all weekend.
When we got to the top of the stairs, room 309 was at the end of a narrow corridor, covered in dust sheets, a ladder propped against the door & a man working on the wall, creating a health & safety hazard.
At reception I explained that the room would not be suitable as there was no lift so could we have another one like the one we had booked & paid for 7 months earlier. She explained that being fully booked they did not have any spare rooms, but after some time she found one that had become available (not sure how or why). The newly allocated room was situated in the walled garden, the furthest part of the hotel & on the first floor but there was a lift.
We arrived at room 521 only to discover that it wasn’t a signature room at all, which I had booked, but a standard room! The room itself was not as clean as I would have expected.
I phoned reception & spoke to the Manager. He listened to my complaint, making the right condescending platitudes to try and appease me & offered to get a fridge, signature snack pack & robes sent to our room that afternoon, which we agreed to, although we were still terribly upset about the whole situation at this point.
By the time we went to dinner at 6pm our ‘Signature’ package still hadn’t arrived so we told the manager that nothing had materialised so he said he would ‘sort it’.
When we arrived at Treetops restaurant, our table had been allocated to someone else, so eventually they found us table 90 by a window where that the sun was shining through the glass, there was no window blind so it was like sitting in a greenhouse, which didn’t make for a leisurely dining experience as we just wanted to get away from the searing sun.
After the evening entertainment, back in our room was the tiniest fridge imaginable, about 12” square with the four signature cans inside with no room for anything else, and two packets of crisps & no bath robes, which didn’t materialise the whole weekend,
The next day there was an issue with our card when we ordered a drink and a light lunch on the terrace bar at the main house, coming up as invalid (even though it had worked the night before in the theatre!). The Manager of the Terrace bar came out and after some time sorted it out with reception.
On the Monday when we came to check out our account was incorrect. There was no sign of the £25 promised for the initial change of room. Although this was rectified, the bill was still incorrect as there was an entry for drinks in the Treetops, made at 7.15pm when we were having dinner and only had water with our meals.
It has taken two weeks to receive any response from Warner hotels regarding my complaint & offered a derisory £50 in compensation, basically the price difference between a Signature and standard of rooms, but nothing for a spoilt weekend.
Would we recommend Warner hotel at Cricket St Thomas? Absolutely NOT!!

Worst customer service I've ever encountered.
They do not look after disabled people well. They will charge you £25 for wanting to book a room next to your loved ones when you need to be there to support them.
Their disabled parking spaces at Littlecote are not right. They do not give you space either side of the car to be able to get people in who have mobility issues making them useless for certain disabilities.
For a holiday company that appears to provide a luxury experience, it definitely doesn't feel like this. They didn't care that my father had trouble walking when we asked to move to a closer table for breakfast and dinner.
They overcharged me and I had to fight to get the money back. If you have a complaint, they will not care. Honestly the most uncaring customer service department. They should be ashamed of how they treat their customers.
Also to add that some of the facilities at Littlecote like the table tennis is up a large set of stairs making it unusable to my father which was very disappointing. To be honest, when I went to look at it myself the games facilities were awful. Old and tired equipment. Not what you expect from a luxury break

Warners Studley Castle is an extremely well appointed and quietly situated hotel. The 'hotel' area that was added to the 'castle' is well laid out, attractively decorated and air conditioned. We stayed in a Studley room which was absolutely fine.
The food, however, was not to our liking. Both breakfast and dinner is serve-yourself, canteen style. The only exception is the starter at dinner, which is waitress served. For E verything else you have to join the queues! The food quality offered by the buffet was, at best, indifferent, sometimes verging on the very poor. To be fair, there is another restaurant venue at Studley Castle, namely Brasserie 32, which does offer table service. However, when we tried to book there during our break, we were told that there was no availability for five days! We were on a three day break. So, a lesson learned. Reserve your table in Brasserie 32 when you first book your break if your wish is for a traditional restaurant experience.
Evening entertainment is presented within the main, self- service, restaurant. You are assigned a dining table, as per usual when you enter the dining area for the first time, for the duration of your break. This system works very well, as long as you’re happy with your assigned table - which we were.
The entertainment, with the exception of Saturday evening, was all very average. The highlight was Paul da Vinci and his group of musicians. The act was outstandingly good. This made up for the lacklustre resident Warner theatre company band. Sunday evening was billed as 'Everlasting Lionel' (Richie). Although he had a good voice, he was accompanied only by pre-recorded backing tracks. This significantly detracted from the performance, which included a great deal of chat. The dance floor remained 99% empty. It wasn’t until 10 minutes from the end of his set did he decide to include 'All Night Long' and 'Dancing on the Ceiling' whereupon the dance floor immediately filled to capacity! A very strange running order…
There were the usual activities organised during the day, which were fine. Special mention should go to Jack, one of the quiz presenters, a very amusing young man.
We hope this brief summary of our three days spent at Warners Studley Castle is useful to those considering booking this venue.

Littlecote is a fabulous location, I first came in 2016 and I've been a firm fan of Warner Hotels since. However, since the product was taken over I fear too many changes have been made, no doubt due to cost cutting and updating the product overall. At the same time prices have increased. Here are a few examples: The lovely extras that used to come with Signature Room Upgrades are now pretty non existent. These upgrades made it worth paying more for. For example, knowing you could have fresh milk in your cuppa on accessing your room was a great touch. Now replaced with those nasty little long-life sachets, as found in many run of the mill hotels and B&Bs! They're difficult to use, particularly for arthritic hands and risk milk squirting in all directions. And sadly dining room offerings are also much changed and bear little resemblance to the varied menus of old, including being able to select one's own choice of produce at a fabulous buffet. It's also become noticeable that while staff no doubt do their best, there's no denying many simply find the job unenjoyable. And whoever decided ALL guests must be strongly encouraged to access the Itinerary for their break via a QR code must surely have been having a massively bad day themselves. I mean, really Warner, have you completely lost sight of your Core Customers' age group?? Actually I am enjoying my current return to Littlecote. I am fortunate in that technology hasn't entirely overtaken me.... yet. And I am still able to open the long-life milk sachets without squirting the contents up the wall and everywhere else. However while sat in reception earlier listening to yet another incredulous guest complaining about having missed an activity, because she couldn't access the Itinerary online, I do fear that any more shavings to cut costs will result in customers deciding Enough is Enough. Come on Warner, bring back some of the little extras that used to make a Warner Break Really Special. Maybe time to backtrack on some of those changes? REF Warner's response - wouldn't it be lovely if just once a review was Heard and Acted upon? I reiterate the comments about the nasty little milk sachets. Warner used to be different than the majority of run of the mill hotels and and chain b&bs. Yes because even good b&bs provide fresh milk these days. Perhaps you didn't do your homework customer services. As for the huge number of plastic sachets, hmm, as opposed to one small Tetra pack that would last the majority of guests during their break, REALLY? And yes, the itinerary is available in digital form. However, that wasn't the point? Surely you understand that most guests like to browse their previously issued paper copy so that the day can be planned. Eg. at leisure after breakfast in a comfortable chair. Or while having a coffee. Ditto late afternoon when considering the evenings entertainment. Having to Keep squinting at ones mobile phone, tracking back to reception or finding a screen in a corridor, just isn't the same. Of course know this. Toiletries - this is a change for the better and does reduce plastic waste. Fluffy robes - I was in a Signature Room. There was nothing to advise me that I now had to request a robe at reception. I saw two guests in robes on their way back from the pool and assumed it was yet another 'shaving' to now only provide them for contemporary and historic rooms. It's clear from my last 3 Warner stays, I have seen a lot of changes in that time, that listening to other guests, overall there are many who feel so many 'shavings' are a step too far. Conversations with reception are redirected to customer services as expected. The menu too is indeed vastly different, as well as portion sizes, despite your reply. I had what was described as miso salmon during my stay. The fillet was the tiniest I have ever seen, I frequently eat salmon fillet. I just couldn't imagine it being served to e.g a strapping 6' male and the kitchen wouldn't have known that I wasn't. Looking at the reviews it's clear, as is so often the case with most customer services, that the responses are standard and prescribed. It's extremely disappointing. Do I feel that I have been heard. No of course not.....
