Thank you to Neil Ryder who helped assisting me and rectifying the problem for me. I have now been able to log into their new system with no problems. :)

I had issues getting into my account…

I had issues getting into my account and called the helpline, I was able to be talked to very quickly and Pal was very helpful in getting me all ready and set. They were a paragon of excellent customer service and I'm happy to say my issue was resolved quickly. I haven't used the service yet but I know with support like I'll be fine.

Quick call

Marie was the lovely lady who handled my claiming issues. A quick email from her to IT as she knew what my issue was affecting the claim, then followed up with an email back to myself to alert me my portal was back up and running! Fab efficiency Marie. Thank you.

This is a fabulous medical service

This is a fabulous service, I have been with the BHSF for as long as I can remember. It takes the sting out of big Dentist an Optical costs plus if you are unfortunat to have heath issues they they are there to help with private consultancy plus finacial support.

Requesting a claim form.

I required help with getting a claim form and my customer number details. Neil and others advised me on how to do this so I am now able to send off my dental claim as of today.

Avoid if you can

Only been using for 6 months - I have to say they make it as difficult to claim as possible. Outdated online system, from the stoneage. Awful customer service and the most frustrating part is they take SOOOOOOO long to process your claims. I have needed ongoing treatment for something and I am on my 3rd appointment in 3 weeks and they still haven't processed my first claim.

I get this through my employeer but if you have any say in it avoid this company. There is a reason you haven't heard of them and why they are cheaper than anyone else. They make it difficult and obtrusiveto claim, menaning people are beaten down and can't be bothered.

To respond to the response - there was an issue with the account from my Employer's side of things, which only became apparent when I contacted the BHSF Customer Service and was met with an unhelpful "talk to your HR department, your policy is on hold". I stand by everything else and the process time is still far too long and far too "letter of the law". I have used Health Insurance from various companies over the last 2 decades and this is by far the worst. If I had a choice I would not use them. To put in context I have never had a refused or rejected claim in 20 years. Within 6 months I have had 6 rejected claims. There is a reason they are cheap - they will find any way not to pay your claim.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review and we’re very sorry to hear of your difficulties.

BHSF are currently in the middle of a significant upgrade to our background systems, with a brand new tailor-made Online Portal for our policyholders to use. While the previous system was functional and worked exactly as it meant to (simple/ quick/ easy-to-use), it had reached its technical limits. So, while not live for everyone yet, the new system will be in the future, so this will hopefully address your concerns with our current portal. If you’re struggling with the current Online Portal though, please get in touch with our Helpdesk where we’ll be happy to help.

In respect of your claims, 3 weeks sounds excessive. I can therefore only assume there is something which is delaying these beyond our usual 2 working day response timeframe. It’s possible that your premiums aren’t paid up-to-date, or that the information we’ve received is incorrect/ insufficient and we’re waiting on further information to process these. Either way, I’d suggest you contact our Helpdesk, who should be able to assist.

Policy tracking and update

Contacted BHSF over a policy I had over many years and was trying to trace the documentation. emailed the help desk for help with this and could not have been happier with the service. Thanks to Neil Ryder for the assistance with my queries and I now have a fully updated documentation.
