The flash on my Fuji Finepix was no longer working and although I could have purchased another camera online I specifically wanted to have this one repaired due to sentimental reasons.
I came across Camera Repairs Direct and received a very reasonable quote and I eventually got around to sending the camera away.
Despite initial reservations about sending it I was soon very pleased with the outstanding service and repair.
Wes and his team are excellent and I would reccomend them 100% for their diligence, honesty and quality repairs. Something nowadays you may struggle to find.

My repair was estimated to take around 2-3 weeks but it was done and delivered back to me in 4 working days. It was repaired to excellent quality (my SD card holder had broke) and I was given an SD card free of charge which I am grateful for. There was constant communication all the way through. I posted my camera in a make-shift gift box with lots of random wrapping but it was posted back in way better packaging + the original gift box.
I paid £168 which was a fraction of what other companies had quoted me.

Wes is a very decent honest and genuine trader. Great communications. Diagnosed my issue over the phone and provided quote. Upon inspection further faults were discovered and repair would be uneconomic due to cost of parts. Wes took no payment for the work already done in trying to repair the camera and only took payment for return postage. Very impressed with this business and will be my first port of call for future camera repairs due to their honest outlook.

Poor repair. Sent my Canon EOS R6 for repair, they received it on the 15/6/2022, it came back on the 9/7/2022. Sadly, my camera wasn't fixed, if anything it was slightly worse than it started off. From their very first set of emails, alarm bells should have been ringing, as they talked about 'replacing the mirror-box' obviously mirrorless camera's don't have a 'mirror-box' they said this was just a mistake in technical terminology. But i felt right from the start and still do, that they literally had absolutely no clue of the repair my R6 needed. They have offered me the chance to send the camera back, but its ridiculous sending a camera back to a company that couldn't repair it in the first place. As they clearly still don't understand what's wrong with my camera, so i won't be sending it back or using this company again, i also won't be recommending them to anyone else. I am very disappointed. Camera Repair Direct says we don't know what else to do apart from you sending the R6 back for us, to try again. Really? So they couldn't think of anything else, no other choice? At no point have they offered me a refund or even a partial refund of the repair bill, after all they haven't fixed it and there is no evidence they ever will be able to fix it, based on their email replies. So in the end Camera Repair Direct have been paid for a service they couldn't achieve, repairing my camera. This simply isn't good enough or ethical.

I have waited to post this review until I had a chance to put my camera and lens through it's paces on a 2-week trip to Switzerland to absolutely check it was OK - it was.

I cannot recommend Camera Repair Direct (CRD) highly enough. After a quote of £870 to repair my Canon 24-20mm f/2.8 lens and generally service my Canon 5D Mk 3 from a London based company, I was reeling as I simply could not afford that. I had a Google and discovered CRD and emailed Wes Davies with the detail of the faults that the other company had told me - he quoted £220 subject to checking it out himself. I was somewhat worried that this now sounded too cheap! I hand delivered my kit and collected, although he normally receives cameras and lens by courier. He pulled out all the stops, repaired and serviced my lens and camera in less than a week (I had a tight deadline) and informed me that one of the parts the other company had wanted to repair was perfectly ok.

Camera Repair Direct (in particular Wes Davies) is excellent. He is professional, fair and honest and very good at fixing cameras! I will not be looking anywhere else in the future.

Picked up my camera and it kept telling me to replace the battery. Clearly an electrical fault so I looked on Trust Pilot for a repair service because the cost of a new camera right now is not an option. Got in touch with them liked their quote (companies local to me would not even look at my camera without a Canon warranty?) Was a little surprised when he got back in touch saying it was water damage but could be repaired, obviously it changed the cost but still a lot cheaper than a new camera. Got it back yesterday, took it out today. Honestly the quality of the pictures is spot on. Works like a dream. Would highly recommend. The person who took my camera out in the rain is a few quid lighter but happy he isn't having to buy a new one.

Sent my canon lens in to these guys to see if it could be repaired , the focus motor was kaput, it was not cost effective to repair.
They were very polite, informative and great communication.

Fantastic first class repair. Used by UCLH Imaging department for repair of Canon L series lens. Service equal of that from the Canon service agents we normally use. Would absolutely recommend these guys from a professional public service department.

This is one of the best companies I have dealt with on line. From my initial enquiry to the return of my repaired camera the customer service and update on progress was exceptional. Even better my camera was repaired and returned very quickly within the original estimate.

The main screen was working intermittently on my Olympus. CRD diagnosed as a hinge/contact problem, gave a very reasonable quote, then conducted the repair really quickly (sent Tuesday, received back on Saturday). Highly recommend this crew, brilliant communication throughout. 6 stars!

I damaged my filter on the front of the main Lens and made it worse by trying to remove it myself.
Googled this Repairers, which gave me an estimate before seeing it. After receiving for repairs still kept to the estimate even though they could have easily said I caused other damage to charge more. The turn around also very quick. So 5***** From me and will certainly use again if needed.

Impeccable! Supplied an estimate based on my email description, Kept me notified of when the camera had arrived, emailed me again to confirm the estimate, and again when the camera was ready to be returned. I sent it to them on Monday and had it back on Friday. Will definitely use again if the need arises.

These guys are amazing! 100% recommended. Id give them more stars if I could. Very speedy service including email responses, repairing my camera and sending it back to me. Quoted me a very reasonable price compared to other repair companies and kept me updated the whole way through the process. Got my fixed camera back 3 working days after I posted it!! I found Camera Repair Direct to be quick to respond, quick to complete the work with good communications throughout.

On their website at CameraRepairDirect.co.uk I described the camera's fault. The following day I received a quote for repair and return delivery by DPD.

They emailed to confirm receipt of the camera.

2 days later, they emailed to confirm the repair was complete, to confirm the price, and with bank transfer details for payment.

All very straight forward. I emailed to confirm I had paid.

The following day they emailed receipt of payment and confirmed return delivery.

The price was £66 to revive a camera which had contained corroded batteries, and would no longer power up, and to return it to me.

I would recommend Camera Repair Direct to any prospective customer.

Camera Repair Direct repaired a Sigma 85mm 1.4(not the art one) which would not auto focus. It was returned to me fully working again in less than 2 weeks after posting it to them. And that included 3 or 4 days while I decided if I wanted to proceed with the repair. I am very happy with the repair.

The quote was full inclusive of everything, parts, labour, return post and vat, which was very good. The only criticism I would make is that the guarantee is only 6 months.

As I said I think you need to think if they are any other options, other than having a repair. Lightroom medadate told me I had the lens for nearly 10 year. Google told me the lens was out of production from 2017. EBay told me a used 85mm Art cost a lot more then I wanted to spend. A used sample of mine was not common and probably would cost double the cost of the repair. Less than this was a brand new Nikon 1.8 85mm, and used samples on eBay was less than my repair. As I said you have to think carefully of all your options. Glad I went for the repair.

One thing did make me smile about the quote. If you don’t want to proceed with it, they will post the lens back to you for £12, or dispose of the lens for you completely free of charge!

Great Service, Sent my canon lens for repair the dreaded err 01. They turned it around in 48 hours and i got it back same week. Took it out on a shoot yesterday and its like new again at what i consider was great value for money. Definatly recommended.
