I tried checkmyfile 7 day free trial to…
I tried checkmyfile 7 day free trial to check my credit file, it's ok and very easy to understand and track my finances but I really don't think it's worth paying £14.99 a month so canceled the free trial. If this was cheaper I'd consider paying and staying as checkmyfile is better that others.

Was put onto check my file by my mortgage advisor. Had a few issues as I already had an account from years ago, (I didn’t realise) so needed to try to remember passwords etc. After a few exchanges of emails, it was all sorted. Would highly recommend

I was asked to go on checkmyfile by…
I was asked to go on checkmyfile by mortgage broker.
The report was detailed. There were a couple of associations which shouldn't have been on my report and after reporting I was contacted promptly and advised these were reported to the relevant credit agencies.
Good service and experience to date.

We understand it can be a bit surprising to see a financial associate on your report when you’re no longer connected financially.
In many cases, credit reference agencies won’t remove these links automatically. They usually stay on your report until you, or a trusted third party like Checkmyfile, ask for them to be taken off, which means they can remain there for quite a long time.
Helping you remove any outdated or incorrect associates is just one of the ways our team supports you in keeping your credit report accurate and up to date.

Checkmyfile state clearly on their website that after 'free' registration you hve 7 days to cancel or you wil be charged £14 per month!
On 30th April - unable to get back into our accounts to cancel - I sent an email to cancel both my and my wife's accounts. 8 days so we were both charged in May, after several phone calls I think my wife's account has been cancelled but I have still been charged again in June. I had another conversation, and sent another email, this time a complaint, and have not had the courtesy of a reply let alone a credit.
This is totally unacceptable - I am still waiting for the refund. The staff I have spoken to were very nice but clearly operating under strict guidelines I suspect we are not alone in falling foul of this system.

We are 70 year old retired couple
We are 70 year old retired couple, looking for a mortgage to build a bungalow and the broker introduced us to getting a credit file information, it was a great experience, the site is easy to use and gives a very detailed list of all past history of loans , payments etc and gives a score, it’s a very simple but extremely comprehensive data from all the sources combined to give a lender full scope of information. I advise everyone to use this site for a very detailed overview.

great service but must be more clear about how subscription works
great service but must be more clear about charges and the way the subscription works.
I used it for a second time as part of a financial assessment with buying a house and I knew I'm not eligible for the free service as I used it already in the past. but as it usually happens, I forgot to cancel right after and I was charged for the second month too. then when I canceled I read in their terms that they do not refund for time when services are not used. so

I believe it is one of the best credit…
I believe it is one of the best credit report websites I have used. However, I would rate it 4* primarily because it is so expensive. I have cancelled my trial, but most definitely re-consider if the price comes down to a reasonable level.

My mortgage company requested I use…
My mortgage company requested I use Check my File, even though I use another credit agency. So I signed up and Check my File produced their report (I didn’t see it because I didn’t need to) the mortgage went straight through and everything was fine. I subsequently contacted them at Check my File to cancel my subscription. This was the part I was anxious about. I hit the contact us and sent a request. The next day I had my reply. They had cancelled it with immediate effect. No further payments would be deducted. Nice friendly email. Wow. I’m a bit surprised, but pleasantly so. Thank you Check my File.
