More hassle than it's worth
In hindsight it would just be easier to collect money into my own bank account and split it for the teachers. In the end I had to pay the money back to myself and split. The collection of messages was good but I wanted to be able to give a physical voucher.

The website guides you through the process of setting up a collection pot and then sharing the link. Then there are various options for spending the money collected, either through the website or withdrawing to a bank account. Overall, this was easy to use and a useful way of getting donations for teacher presents at the end of term without having to share my bank details.

This was set up for a lovely lady that was retiring. It was very easy for people to donate and it was easy for me to collect the money donated.

The concept is great and guests were…
The concept is great and guests were able to donate easily and able to leave lovely messages. The part that let it down was the usability of the app - it was difficult to find out who had donated what and also trying to take money from pot was a little complicated. Also, their customer service took 2 days to respond to my query.

Great for a teachr collection
This was great for a teacher collection. Easy to set up and easy to contribute. All transparent so everyone could see the amount. The only niggle was that some paid the full £2.00 for processing fees, not realising there is a drop down menu to lower the amount which wasn’t obvious.

Second time using Collection Pot. It’s a good website, simple to use once you get the hang of it & made collecting contributions towards a joint cause easy.

awful
awful. collected money, clicked on the voucher we wanted and it gave us a completely different voucher. customer service was hard to get hold of any no help, refused to refund. website is janky. I'm so angry as our fab classroom teacher has a present he can't use.

A nice site but problems with security
A nicely put-together site. Easy to register and set up the pots which were visually pleasing and easy for people to donate to. Unfortunately, spending the pot was much more difficult. They don't advertise the fact that physical giftcards have been discontinued so all the recipient gets the barcode you print out- not very special-looking. The bigger problem was that verification for one of my pots failed due to a technical issue on their end. They could not resolve this so had to be a manual transfer, which entailed me emailing my bank details, address, name and date of birth to them: at a shared mailbox! I was not personally happy about doing this as this is all the information needed for many forms of identity fraud. They were very polite about this and offered as much security as possible (such as deleting the details from their system as soon as they'd been used) but overall this feels very poor security to offer your customers.

We're especially sorry about the issue with the bank transfer process. While cases like this are very rare, when an automated transfer can't be completed due to a technical issue, we sometimes have to process the transfer manually. We completely understand why you were uncomfortable sharing your details by email, and while we do everything we can to keep that information secure and remove it once it's no longer needed, we appreciate that this wasn't an ideal experience.

The idea and set up is good one, however
The idea and set up is good one. Worked well for spending your collection on a gift card, however I cashed out £40 to buy additional gifts and I am still waiting for this to reach my bank. It has been over 48 hours and I am now out of pocket. I will think twice about using it for this again!
