Ordered an item, received it well-packed in perfect condition 4 days later. Can't expect more than that, especially in the run-up to Christmas.

Returning to the model railways hobby after a break of many years I always buy from Derails whenever possible.
A small family company, they're always happy to help. Product knowledge is strong and pricing is competitive. They also proactively follow up periodically on customer satisfaction, not with a mail containing a link to a third party survey provider, but with a personal email. And they will reply to your response.
I'm struggling to think of any other company providing that level of personal attention in this industry or any other.
And when you buy from Derails you get a small packet of biscuits packed with your order - that does it for me.

Hadn't heard of Derails but was recommended to them by a railway club member. I ordered Bertie , 32mm steam loco, for grandsons Christmas, Birthday and rest of the year present. The service from Derails was great, friendly staff and all queries dealt with promptly. Bertie runs well and grandson delighted.

Derails are very good at keeping you informed of the progress of your orders. They are well packaged and arrive in a reasonable time. I will be using them again.

This is the first time I’ve bought items for my hobby from Derails, though they did come recommended by a friend for giving good value for money. He didn’t tell me how they put the customer at the heart of their business focus. Not only do you get a good deal, you get an email as your order is processed and you can track your goods as they make their way to your house. Then after a week or so, you get another email to check everything was to your satisfactory. Thank you for such a good service. I’ll be coming back for more good deals in the future.

I have ordered from Derails a number of times over the years. They are very competively priced and always have a good stock of what I have needed. I also find their postage charges very reasonable which adds to the value of ordering from them.

In the past I have had queries about an order which Dan has anwered very promptly and assisted me. Not only that on one occasion what I ordered wouldn't do what I required and a quick email from Dan pointed out my mistake and he was able to sort it prior to posting which save me time and money.

Derails is my go-to independent retailer for most of my online model railway purchases. I find them excellent at responding to any queries or issues I may have and their prices are fair. My latest order was placed on the 14th Dec (Sat) and promptly dispatched first thing on the Monday morning arriving with me two days later with free delivery! Excellent service - very friendly staff, on a previous order a note was included with my loco to say that they had checked it was a good runner. Always prompt and hassle free delivery. Used them multiple times and been happy every time - with larger purchases I've been delighted to even find complimentary biscuits (their biscuit budget must be that of a small nation state)....

If they stock the items I'm after, they are always my first port of call.

Yet again Derails have the most competitive prices for model railway items and for orders over £20 the postage is free! Not to mention the loyalty scheme where you get points and therefore money off future orders.
