I've never made bread before, ever.
I don't like bread making machines and besides, I don't have one.
I decided to start making my own white bread partly because I was a little fed up with my local small supermarket, not having the bread I like(d) when I go there.
As a consequence of this and the nagging thought, that I really ought to make my own bread, I decided to buy suitable flour.
I wanted to buy in bulk. After a quick internet search. I found Doves Farm, Organic White Flour, available directly from them in suitably large amounts for a very reasonable price.
I purchased some, as well as the correct amount of their Quick Yeast and set about making my bread, using instructions from the internet.
My first loaf was lovely. Now, about ten loafs or so later, I've honed my technique and the bread, made from Doves Farm Organic White Flour is very good indeed. I can say with certainty, that the bread I now eat, is much better than that which I used to purchase from the supermarket, and the whole experience from beginning to end is rather satisfying and enjoyable.
Doves Farm Flour is excellent, I love it, and Doves Farm as a supplier are excellent too. Their products are very good value, they ship very quickly, one could not expect better.

Brilliant quality flour. We make a loaf nearly every day and buying in bulk is so convenient for us. Doves Farm flour is a firm favourite and the large sacks are really good value. Delivery is always prompt and sacks well packaged.

Oh, good God where shall I start? Doves Farm Order - DF186825
This company is just incapable to dispatch and deliver goods in acceptable timeline. I placed the order on 11.3.2024 and heard nothing from Doves Farm foods online until I contacted them by email on 14.3.2024 asking about my order's whereabouts and tracking number. The customer service assistant called Callum replied on 14.3.2024 telling me that one item from the order was out of stock , and they have not dispatched my items yet!!!4 days after I placed the order !!!! They have not even considered contacting me first and informing me they have not dispatched my order just yet!!! Because of the missing item. Callum gave me the refund for out of stock item , but He still did not provide me with tracking number. On 15.3.2024 I had to contact him again by email asking for that nonexistent tracking number which I still did not have 5 days after placing the order. 2 hours after my email on 15.3.2024 I received the answer back from Doves Farm about dispatching the order and informing me that DPD is expecting it shortly. Next day On 16.3.2024…6 days after placing the order DPD sent me an email saying they received my parcel, which will be ready for delivery. I still do not know, when? Saga continues ….Doves farm foods have good quality products but CAN NOT DELIVER THEIR GOODS in acceptable timeframe as they advertise on their website. I paid £4.95 for this delivery ,which I will wait for 7 or 8 days or 9 days , who knows. Doves farm website promises 3-5days. Do you truly think this is acceptable? I do not. I will never order anything from them online again, I mean it ever. The goods ordered online are dispatched and delivered faster from the EU countries into the Uk than Doves farm foods dispatching and delivering their orders on the UK soil with the help from DPD. Just unacceptable. They provide bad customer service, I am definitely not happy with. Avoid. Buy their products from anywhere just not from their website. Just to make you aware that you will get the same customer service experience as I had been given so far. So as I mentioned about Saga continues. DPD was supposed to deliver the items on 16.3 2024 between 9.53am till 10.53 am . I saw the van of DPD outside my window and received the message Sorry to Miss you your parcel will be delivered to Matalan on 17.3.2024 !!!!!! The driver name Karanbeer was not able to ring the door bell.And decided for himself to drop it in Matalan. I was in I saw the driver from my patio door. Disgusting delivery service as well. Tomorrow it would be 7th day after placing the order. I walked to Matalan and got the parcel with my goods not damaged . Hurray!!! Never again. I do not need this kind of excitement and agro in my life. A part of the email was written to me by Amanda Jones....In regard to the out-of-stock cornflour, I have spoken to production and we are expecting this to be produced today and Monday. Our baking essentials production area has been out of action for the past 48hrs due to a technical issue, but is thankfully up and running again once more. I will arrange for a couple of tubes to be sent up to you as soon as they are back in stock and I hope you accept these with our compliments.

I am not walking for it to Matalan . Does anybody think this will ever happen Doves Farm will show a good will? I do not, I have not seen their good customer service yet nor any passion about wanting to deliver any kind of service, so no more hassle and worry about my order. Saga came to an end, Thank you ,Oh, Lord. Ps: If you see a DPD driver called Karanbeer in the Warwickshire area please do not hesitate to email me.

I have bought sacks of flour from Doves for years, but the most recent delivery never made it here.

The first attempt at delivery was followed by an email from Doves telling me that DPD was unable to make the delivery. I knew this, becuase I was waiting for it and no one came. So I advised Doves of this and clarified my address with them, which was obviously correct.

That unfortunately, was the last contact with Doves, but that isn’t the end of this story...

The next day, DPD apparently made another attempt at delivery, this time with photo evidence. Surprise surprise, the photo is/was of a new build house which I don't recognise and particularly odd, given I live in an apartment which is gated and nowhere near any new build properties.

So I followed up with another reply to their email, explaining that I had no idea where the DPD photo had been taken and this again has gone without response.

Some days and a weekend passed and still nothing. So I went on thier website and completed another 'contact us' form and explained the above. Again, no response.

My final attempt at contact was via PayPal where I opened a case against Doves. Initially to contact them and nudge them to respond but after no response again, it was escalated to a claim a few days later. Of course, thus far, this has also been ignored.

Now this issue/complaint could be levelled at DPD and indeed they're obviously at fault here, but until the item is delivered this is legally the responsibility of Doves.

I've gone out of my way to rectify this prior to this review but Doves have, from my point of view, actively avoided even the courtesy of responding (that is 5 contact attempts by me).

Judging by other despondent reviews it's looking more and more like Doves is getting too big to service its smaller customers with a number of complaints coming from a lack of customer support when things go wrong.

This was the last time I will buy from you Doves, sorry guys...

Edit and follow up after Doves:

The claim that they'd contacted me on the 12th was after the first delivery, which I responded to, twice. Once to the email and once through the 'contact them' on the website.

The initial PayPal claim to nudge them was made on the 15th.

If they'd made any contact whatsoever, other than to tell me it hadnt been delivered, why would PayPal refund me?

PayPal refunded me on the 26th because they hadn't received a response from them either.

Furthermore, Doves did eventually reach out to me on the 26th and apologised. The response was on the original email thread from the 12th where Doves told me that it had been delivered, which was clearly wrong as DPD had already advised they hadn't delivered and it was being returned to Doves.

The stack of lies both in the emails and their response below is staggering!

At the very least, if you make a mistake, you need to own it...instead of weaving a pack of lies and throwing it into the public domain.

My wife bought a box of their fruit and fibre flakes. Really nice to eat it transpired but: The cardboard box contained a plastic bag, half the size of the box which had the cereals in. So the box was never going to be full. In short half the contents of the cardboard cereal box box was air. Dishonest packaging, correct weight tho'. I photographed box and contents but could not find an email to send it to them. See for yourself, we are not doing that again.

Twice have had bugs in this flour how absolutely disgusting!

2nd time I’ve had weevils in their products and no reply from my email to their customer service team

I always bought small bags of flour at the shops due to the variaty of selections and for my sourdough starter. Mid August I decided to buy 15kg of strong flour for my bread/pizza making in lieu of another brand which last time sold me old flour. I was going to give 5 stars for the quick delivery and the replacement of some damaged items (great customer service). Unfortunately the flour they provided me with does not work. My doughs are incredibly sticky and the gluten does not develop well. My baking products reseamble low quality and it is quite annoying when somebody is used to get nice results. I will be still purchasing small quantities at the shop but not this strong type in largr quantities.

I have completely lost confidence in Doves farm flour. Found a large bug crawling in it. I sent a video to them and all they did was claim it wasn’t their fault. I had purchased the flour very recently and it was a new bag so clearly not my fault. The bag was in tact before I opened it. Doves Farm Offered ‘as a good will gesture’ to replace the flour! I no longer wish to use their flour.
I could have returned it to the store I purchased it to get a refund.

I purchased barley flour, the delivery company was careless and damaged the product. I received the replacement instantly. Their customer service is amazing, as is their product. I will certainly buy from them again.

Ordered a 16kg sack of bread flour and a smaller whole meal bag. The whole meal is fine but the bread flour is infested with bugs!

Emailed the customer service team and got no response. It’s not cheap stuff and now I have to throw it away, absolute waste of money

My ordered was placed on 4th June 2023 (ref DF165820) and so far I only received a part of my order. I completed 'received part of my order' online form (twice) without any reply or acknowledgement of my request. Very disappointing customer service. Unfortunately, won't use them again.

I use Doves Farm flours and happy with them, both the strong flours for bread making and the plain/self raising flours for baking.

However, I am at my wits end trying to open a tub of Doves Farm Gluten Free Baking Powder. I have been trying for over an hour on and off and searching online for clues how to open but haven’t found anything. I have the same issue with Doves Farm Corn Flour and was told some time ago that they were looking to change packaging. However still the same.

It looks like I will now have to get these items from my local supermarket because pointless to purchase if I cannot get the top off and it stresses me out.

I have health issues and thought I would be able to make a few biscuits today. However, I am exhausted and no way can I do any of this now. I am so frustrated and annoyed. I tried squeezing the tub, I tried lifting the lid with spoon or a sharp instrument like a scissors (quite dangerous) but all to no avail. Feeling very deflated now.

Why oh why can Doves Farm use packaging that is easy to open, or at least easier, rather than impossible for some. Really stressed and no baking …. Not a good day for me.

Previous to my order on April 19th, I messaged twice to enquire about a product with no response. I placed an order on the 19th April and received an item short dated (within 2 months). I emailed and they replied after a few days with a goodwill gesture of a replacement. I have yet to receive the replacement, and no response when chasing this up.

Received the wrong item. Messaged on the website 3 times over a week without response. Utterly useless. It's beyond belief that it's not possible to speak to someone. I'm now stuck with a bag of organic pasta flour. DF164600 is the order number.

Amazing gluten free flours. They have been a life line for me and my family. I make everything with them from fresh pasta, cakes, breads, biscuits, pies, pastry and much more. The best thing is it's easily available at all supermarkets.

made an order, tried to rectify the wrong address. Company failed to respond to 3 emails and after 2 calls, 'forwarded my email' which achieved...nothing.

Order was still dispatched to the wrong address, still no word from doves farm's customer 'service'

please don't waste your time or money

About a year ago I discovered the art of making sourdough bread. After trying various flours I was recommended Doves Farm products.
The best results I have had, by a country mile, is with the organic strong bread flour - the stuff in the green bag! As I develop the dough the flour transforms and I can only describe it as a ‘spiritual experience’.
I also sometimes use 2/3 green bag and 1/3 purple bag (rye flour). Or the rye flour for the starter and ‘green bag’ for the loaf.
We only eat bread we make ourselves (also in a Panasonic bread maker), using Doves Farm flour.
In my opinion and research the best out there.
