You can lock your credit for Free. Equifax obscures that fact so you think you have to sign up for a special tier of service to get that protection. It's a LIE. Disgusting that a company that says it's protecting you is actually GRIFTING you. I HATE that the world is allowing this level of constant grift. Personally I'm good at navigating this landscape but I shouldn't have to and I weep for everyone who is confused and gets scammed all the time.

Credit score discrepancy not sorted
Contacted today as my score was showing a negative impact due to it not showing any record of a credit card or spend , indeed I have had one card for many years , the case has been marked as resolved and asks to call them ? Why ? No change noticed at all . Should be an easy fix but not wasting my time getting sucked in to call them .

Equifax are probably the worst company I've ever dealt with
Every single interaction I've had with Equifax has been bad. Any correspondence results in no issues being solved, their solution is always to go speak to someone else. I don't Equifax can actually do anything, it's shocking they have such a key role in credit checks and you HAVE to go through them.

Unhelpful bland response
I wrote a review 2 days ago mentioning that I am not using around 82% of my credit card balance. This info re 82% I got from Clearscore, a company that gets their info from Equifax who in turn gets their info from credit card providers. Clearscore I believe just puts out info from credit reference agencies without verification. I have paid of in full the balance of one of my credit cards which reduces my usage to around 50% for all the others. Equifax responded asking for my details and the only thing they did was to confirm that they were not wrong. No details or any explanation. Typical of the type of response one gets from low level admin/bureaucratic staff who can't be bothered. They are basically saying the credit card provider confirmed the info they had given Equifax was correct, probably the same type of staff working at the credit card company. I am certain neither Equifax nor the credit card provider's staff whose balance has been paid off in full bothered to check. They just give these bland unhelpful replies. How can one have confidence in such a company. I am not bothered, as I know what is my credit card balance and usage. This time I am not going to bother replying to any of their bland requests for more information, which they do, just to show they are doing something re any complaints.

When I raised a dispute with my file thay responded and dealt with the error quickly. My only complaint would be the time it takes to correct a false entry it should be instantly as it is not you fault that someone made a mistake it can be very costly in fact you should be able to sue the person or company responsible for loss

Absolutely shocking
Absolutely shocking. They have the wrong address listed for me (a neighbouring address). Our address appears correctly with Transunion and the original sources but Equifax haven't taken responsibility for the error on the credit file.
This has stalled a mortgage application.
Edit: The fact that it takes 5 days to get a response when you raise a case with Equifax but you get a response in less than a day on Trustpilot says all you need to know about this company's priorities.

Dreadfully useless customer service
Dreadfully useless customer service. Multiple cases opened to resolve incorrect address issue and previous address info missing. Still not resolved despite them emailing to tell me that they've resolved it.

Completely incompetent.
Completely incompetent.
On every other platform, including the ones that Equifax supply data to, my credit rating is perfect or close to perfect. Yet on Equifax’s own site, they have a mish-mash of details, and even the wrong address. Requested a change of address today, and administrative incompetence has resulted in a hybrid of past address and current address displaying as my current address. It’s like they don’t know how their own systems work, or, as I suspect is really the case, they knowingly misrepresent your information so that you feel compelled to take out a costly monthly subscription to sort out their administrative mistakes. Then magically your credit rating will rocket. No thanks, I’ll look to the services that know what they’re doing, and get your information correct for free, and show your actual credit score reliably.

It's okay but needs more
It's okay but needs more, the service is okay, but I think the cost of paying for effectively insights you can create yourself (credit history and movement etc) being put behind a paywall, is a little rough.
Better UI, simple/advanced toggle so that you can see what you need at a glance and get into the weeds if you need to. Would be aces.
It's not bad though! Just not great value beyond a single month's usage here and there.

I submitted a request by post to sell my shares. Nothing happened so I opened a complaint on my account. The recipient totally ignored anything I wrote and then told me the case was closed. Complete waste of time .

What is wrong with Equifax
What is wrong with Equifax? I submitted documents to update my address. The first line and post code was updated and nothing else. Also, the previous address is still blank. What do I actually pay for? Responded to the email saying it was updated. That took 2 days for a response. And then it is still wrong today after another update!!! UNACCEPTABLE
