Excellent App
Easy to register and verify your ID. Easy to navigate the app and found out where I had car finance from over the last 20 years for free. This is a must have if you can’t remember who you had finance with because if you use a claim company they will take at least a third off you in fees and add vat on top!! Highly recommend Equifax.

They give you a dramatically lower…
They give you a dramatically lower credit score than all the other creditors solely on the basis that you don't have a lot of credit history, but then their score prevents you from getting any credit history, so you end up doomed to be punished for life like someone who was irresponsible with debt in their youth despite a long history of being so responsible with my finances that I've never needed or wanted credit.

Can’t trust the information they share
Equifax added a ‘new’ credit account to my report. It actually related to a car lease agreement which had been completed several months earlier and had been closed. I complained and was told it was correct so no change would be made. You cannot trust the information they share about you.
So I get the same standard response from Equifax. But I wasn’t posting here for support, I was posting here for others to see how useless they are.

Rubbish agency
I wrote to Equifax regarding my Financial information on Clear score which showed a closed account as being Active. I then contacted Equifax on the 31st August and within minutes they had resolved the issue and closed the case. I then logged into my Equifax account and went to My Cases which showed nothing and nothing in Closed case so basically they didn't do anything.

Equifax has merged the credit history…
Equifax has merged the credit history of a different person with my credit history, so the other person's history shows up on my credit check. The other person has the same name as me, and was born on the same day, but has a different year of birth, and a different address.
The other person has a bad credit record so it adversely effects my rating. It is shocking that such a fundamental failure of not matching the year of birth does not get picked up and corrected automatically and that I needed to report this myself.
Equifax told me it would take at least 2 working days to correct this. In the meantime I can't get a mortgage in principal, so I can't submit an offer on a house that I want to buy. I will probably lose the house by the time this is sorted out.

Nat West my credit score
You told Nat West my credit score wasn’t good enough. I then registered with your company and you started sending me loan offers as my chances of success was 94%!!!! SERIOUSLY?!

Other CRA’s hold your information and may use their own scoring methods to provide you with a Score. Their interpretation of your information may be slightly different to how Equifax interprets your information, and so the score/rating will be different to the Equifax score/rating. It’s also worth remembering that the information held by other CRA’s may not be the same information that’s held at Equifax, and therefore the score outcome will be affected by this.
It is also important to explain that your Equifax Credit Score is not the actual score that will be used by a company when you apply for credit with them. If the company uses Equifax, then Equifax will supply your credit report information to the company, but not the score.
During a credit application, companies use the information provided by Equifax and then apply their own lending criteria and scoring methods to decide whether or not to accept an application. Different companies will score your information in different ways. For example, a mortgage lender may place particular weight of emphasis on your ability to afford large monthly repayments by looking at whether you are perhaps already over-indebted. On the other hand, before giving you a handset, a mobile phone provider may be slightly less focussed on your ability to afford large monthly repayments and more concerned with aspects of your credit history which show you have a fixed address and are reliable and conscientious when making smaller payments. Credit card providers, short term loan providers, utilities providers and many other types of providers may all have various different priorities when it comes to assessing your creditworthiness.
All of this goes some way to explain why different CRA’s will have their own experience and idea of how lenders will score a particular individual.
