If Garden Bargains could be given less than 1 star I would gladly go into serious minus. Previous purchases gave me an half dead Conference Pear Tree and 1 dead 1 of 2 standard roses. Just have a serious look at their current magazine, all those wonderful 'save pounds' offers', for instance, 'low growing ground cover Black Dragon Grass'. This is offered at 12.99 and you save 7 pounds???????? Alarm. Most garden centres offer this plant at round about 12.99 which is extortionate anyway. It grows like a weed. One plant will keep multiplying rapidly and all you do is put it in the bin when you thin them out. Just take a very close look at the supposed savings??? Alarm. I have not yet used my refund for the pear tree and rose as I don't really want to buy anymore substandard plants as when they die it leaves your garden not as it should look. My refund cannot be used on line, I have to phone them to make an order to use the refund. Why????? Alarm.

Very poor ages to get here . They say big plugs when in fact they are small. Will never order from them again

Just received Hardy Lupin Gallery. All are very short and spindly with broken stems, one has no leaves at all. We're always told what you see is what you get, well not in this case. Also they are 3 different colours but not labelled so don't know which is which. Very disappointing.

Have used this company for a few years now, and they have always provided high quality plants and products.
Aftr seeing so many people let down by online suppliers, I highly recommend this company.
Only reason for not giving it a 5 star is P&P is quite steep, although they do run promotions with no P&P cost which is worth watching out for!

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY - bought four plants all arrived in awful condition. Despite getting a second opinion and having photographic evidence of condition they will not refund or replace per their terms and conditions. BE AWARE they are also connected to YOU GARDENS!!!!

I bought 3 Young acer trees, which werd in excellent condition and arrived safely from delivery vsn. I was surprised at the condition and quality. Will definitely be using them again.

Terrible company to deal with. I joined their club to get four £5 vouchers per year but I cannot use them. I ordered a buy on get one free offer and only go one plant. It seems if you select quantity 1 on a b1g1f offer you are only requesting the 1 you pay for not the offer including the free plant. Use the site with care and don't waste money joining the club

i bought 20 strawberries half of which have failed ideal world passed me onto garden bargains who want 6.95 postage to replace under their lifetime guarantee absolutely rubish company will not use again and am still waiting for their reply

Warning on compost!

Many of my plants plugs which were thriving from reputable companies, have since died after potting on/planting out in this compost!

I believe it because it appears to have some sort of additive (you will notice the little tiny green pea type things) that is most likely too rich for certain plants!

Normally, I add plant feed as and when needed, but there is no avoiding it with this product.

I've been using this company every now and then for some years and have been very pleased with the results. Occasionally a plant might be smaller than I'd ideally like but with a bit of care everything has thrived and done well. I had one damaged plant recently which has been replaced super-quickly. I have no quibble, especially considering the prices.

I purchased a pair of Hardy Ginger Lilies from Ideal World, Garden Bargains works in close partnership with them as the supplier. My experience contacting Ideal world over plants that wasn't up to scratch wasn't very great, so I contacted Garden Bargains and spoke to Anthony. I explained to him about my order, and I was reimbursed with another purchase that I wanted and there was no need to send back my original order, no problems no questions asked! thank you Garden Bargains.

I bought a “mini orchard” from ideal world garden bargains, It was supposed to be three trees, one apple which is growing but the other two, a pear and a plum tree are dead, I also planted them in their compost which is supposed to be wonderful according to their advert. They also say they can be replaced but I have tried and got no where.

Absolutely disgusting after service when plants don't survive on a lifetime guarantee ! Try getting a refund is about the same as looking for a needle in a haystack! Speak to an operator after umpteen times trying to get through and it's "oh I will pass you to the complaints dept who will contact you back regarding this" ... Still waiting and am out of pocket with nothing to show for the money spent .. will never use again I will find somewhere more professional and reliable. Oh and if anyone orders plants from IDEAL WORLD beware as they use these as their supplier !

It's a pity there is no ZERO star rating. Under the impression from an email shot that I was buying a patio potato growing KIT free except for paying £6.99 postage, I ended up with 12 heavily chitted, wrinkled potatoes and six that look no different to what I buy in the supermarket. Clever wording convinced me I would receive bags to grow them in. When I called to ask where the rest of the GROWING PACK was, I was told the potatoes ARE the grow kit. For £7 I could have bought at least TWICE the seed spuds in our local farm shop READ THEIR OFFERS VERY CAREFULLY!

I ordered the trio of fruit trees from them, they arrived damaged, they said that they were fine when they despatched them, but some of the roots and branches that had been broken off were not in the packaging, so that wasn't true. They just wanted me to do a scratch test to see if they were alive, ignoring the fact that I had paid for trees in good order. They seem to think they can just send out any old rubbish reclaimed off the compost heap. No apology, refund or exchange.

Do not order from this company plants are very poor conditions and not the size you order. I ordered 24 hanging petunia jumbo plugs and they sent small plug plants in a very bad packed parcel all plants were loose so don’t know what colour is what. Ordered small plugs 120 all the bagonias and Busy Lizzies died. If you call them you sit in a queue for over half hour. They don’t seem to be bothered about your problems so take my advice stay away from garden bargens they are crap plus there packing department should all be sacked

Awful company that takes payment immediately, says your order is on its way within 3 days (turns out to be its membership only) then says delivery will take 5-7 days, then changes to 7-10 days, then 10-14 days & then up to 21 days! They trading on credit from people who trust their site. Also, do not phone the 08431 No for their CEO jamie martin. Its premium rate scam No.

EXTREMELY BAD SERVICE - Back in March i ordered jumbo plugs of fuchsias and Callibrachoa Calitas. supposedly for immediate despatch I did not get them until the very end of April. They were not Jumbo size as stated. The fuchsias were 1.25 inches tall and hardly any roots to them. This is not what was promised in the brochure. Their photo shows healthy taller plants. They have advised me that their promised sizing includes the roots as well as the plants itself!! These plants will not have a flower on them for at least 6 - 8 weeks. Terrible company. My last 5 orders with them have been cause of complaint, from inadequate plants to almost dead specimens and substituted items without my knowledge. Why do I keep ordering from them? I always give another try, thinking that this time it was a rare occurrence, but t has proven not to be the case, I do not think the company has a Quality Control' department overseeing what is sent out. Next year I will definitely not be ordering, even though I am a member customer.

I first bought from Garden Bargains a couple of years ago and the box of plants was delivered upside down. The box was the right way up but some bright spark had packed the plants with the box upside down and someone at some point noticed the arrows on the box and turned it the right way up so the plants were crushed and beyond saving. The plants were replaced so I thought I'd give them another go a few weeks ago hoping they no longer employed idi0ts who couldn't work out what the arrows meant on boxes.

So I ordered over £100 of plants and the website was saying that delivery time 5-7 working days. 10 days later I called them as I had still not had a dispatch email and was told that they have been told to tell people that it's 21 days delivery. I explained that this wasn't the case when I ordered so 21 days wasn't what I agreed to. He said there was nothing he could do and I hadn't waited long enough.

I will NEVER buy from this company again and from reading other reviews on here, I'm obviously not the only one. Very Disappointed!

Ordered three lots of garden plugs - paid £7 for delivery. One box came on its own and the contents were appalling- Plugs missing and tops broken off most of the plugs. Asked for the other two be be cancelled and a refund on part of the delivery cost as they now were not sending the other items I got a refund for the two not sent but I was refused point blank a partial refund of the delivery charge even though they were now not delivering the items! Had other plants earlier this year and both have died - they were also poor quality but I was hoping that they would pick up and grow on but they did not.
