Extremely poor customer service – waited weeks for a partial refund

I ordered a commercial griddle from Next Day Catering, paying £202.32 by bank transfer after their website would not accept my credit card.

The product/order experience was extremely frustrating. I contacted the company several times because I needed the grill urgently and received little to no communication. I eventually had to purchase a replacement elsewhere because I could not rely on this order.

I also contacted them to cancel the order, but this was not dealt with before the item was dispatched. When the courier attempted delivery, I refused it because I no longer needed the grill and had already purchased a replacement.

What followed was weeks of emails back and forth. Despite explaining the circumstances and repeatedly requesting a full refund, the company maintained that a 25% restocking charge applied.

Today, after waiting all this time, I finally received a refund — but only £150, meaning they have retained £52.32 from the £202.32 I originally paid.

The whole experience has been incredibly frustrating. The biggest issue for me was the lack of communication when I needed the order urgently, followed by the lengthy process of trying to get my money back.

I would strongly recommend keeping copies of every email and all correspondence if you have an issue with an order.

TWO WEEKS TO DELIVER, NO COMMUNICATION INBETWEEN. ITEM LEFT ON DOORSTEP IN VERY DAMAGED BOX THAT WAS SPLIT OPEN. IT WAS MISSING FOUR VITAL PARTS FOR THE SHELVING UNIT WHICH I TOLD THEM.

THEY ARE JUST IGNORING ALL MESSAGES.

AFTER READING THE REVIEWS OF THIS SITE AFTERWARDS I KNEW IT WOULD GO WRONG! THESE GUYS ARE SCAMMERS AND AT THE MOMENT I AM NEARLY £200 DOWN.

JUST PAY A BIT MORE AND BUY IT FROM SOMEWHERE ELSE. THESE GUYS SENT IT FROM A THIRD PARTY ANYWAY!

Disappointed! Arranged a return of an item and now still waiting for the agreed refund - 3 months so far! Cant speak to a person and phone just directs you to a bot. Terrible customer service

It was 4 days rather than next day despite being quoted over the phone product would be dispatched for delivery the following day if put into the online order notes.

Ordered a replacement gasket for a buffalo vacuum machine.. been stung before by “next day” 4 years ago but either forgot or blocked the trauma.

No live chat service or persons on the basically a defunct phone line and no reply to emails from customer service.
Absolute liberties on the net.

Avoid at all costs!!!
Ordered a table with 5-7 working days delivery. After 8 days I contacted to ask where it was, heard nothing
Next day I contact again, heard nothing
On Friday at 3pm I got an email saying it was damaged and I have options for a replacement or refund. I was told the item will be put on hold until they heard back from me.
I emailed back late Friday saying I want a refund. So I then ordered from a different company and had to pay extra for quick delivery as it was now 2 weeks after my original order.
Come Monday I get an email saying that my order has been dispatched (even though I said I will accept a refund and most importantly I was told the product has been put on hold) and no surprise here but I heard nothing back
On Tuesday the product was dropped off with no invoice or anything to say it was from this company (I asked the delivery driver and he said it was the new table I ordered)
When I opened it I saw it was the wrong table and immediately contacted to see what was going on, and of course I heard nothing back for 2 days. Just finally received an email saying it was”why did you accept the delivery?”. Nothing to say sorry, nothing to offer a solution, nothing to say what they are doing next. I of course explained the situation that the delivery driver identified the product wrong.
So here we are 3 weeks on from the original order date. I now have an extra table sat in the middle of the room waiting to be collected.
Long story short don’t order from them, as all previous reviews explain you can’t get hold of them, they don’t do anything to help and customer service is rubbish

Stay away we ordered a cooler for our cellar and it came 8 days late we couldn’t get a reply from them,we sent an email cancelling the item as we needed to get one asap it was during the heatwave which we did they delivered it anyway which we refused and they charged us almost £300 the item was only £560 they’re scammers xx

First the delivery took over two weeks instead of 3-5 working days. There is no way of tracking. When the item finally arrived, it appeared used already and not brand new. Live chat bot was absolutely useless and always looped the same message to email customer service. I sent maybe 5 emails, all of them ignored, never got a reply. There was no ways of phone customer support. I finally got a reply from contact us form on their website, they made it imposible return, wanted to charge 25% restocking fee, then disputed my claim in every way possible. I wanted to go our credit card provider and start coorporate chargeback, but our company structure would have made it very hard. I ended up selling privately for about 80% of the original price. Will never use again. Its not just product and prices, but customer service is equally important. In this case the customer service let your company down. Bear that in mind if you want to order anything from this dodgy company.
