Service was efficient
Communication was good as we were kept up to date when dates were likely to be available. The links sent through were clear with clear instructions about what we needed to do and what to expect. The assessment date booking system took qyite a while to get through as I missed the original call but it was very quick and efficient when I spoke to someone.
The assessor was very kind and spoke to us as parents and my daughter with complete respect. She showed lits of patience and made us all feel comfortable.

47 years of having ADHD and being told…
47 years of having ADHD and being told your lazy a day dreamer and not pick up there was something else going on. Psicon you took the time and patience to listen to me understand me whilst I had to do a lot of the gathering of information as being 47 I had no real close contacts to support me. I cancelled my appointment twice I took time to get the information together. I am grateful you held out listened to me and was thorough in hearing my difficulties. I now have answers in the fact I have ADHD. Thank you for your support I am however saddened that Kent have frozen funding until 2027 now as my daughter is on the pathway and id personally would have rather her have the answer as I have had to plod along undiagnosed I have missed out on so much support and really don't want my 7 year old daughter to go thru the same story I have been thru in lifee

Amazing communication and wait time.
Amazing communication from initial contact through to diagnosis for my daughter, through the Right to Choose pathway. Assessor was kind, helpful and understanding and we got the diagnosis in the assessment, with the written one on its way. Waiting time was under 5 months and we could not be happier with the speed and communication. Thank you.

Psicon are amazing. My entire diagnosis journey has been very well handled with prompt and polite information. Great and insightful guidance given.
One very recent example that was outstanding. I hadn't clocked that I need a travel letter for my medication. I called them first thing on Monday quite nervous about not having that cut was issued via email in under 5 mins. I can travel relieved that I have everything in place. the arrive could not have been more helpful and supportive. If only I could give them 10 stars!

Concerns regarding titration process not following guidelines
I was really looking forward to starting treatment after a long wait, but my initial appointment left me with serious concerns about how titration is being managed and I feel very worried about it.
I was started on a static dose (5mg three times daily) with no review, contact point, or vitals monitoring built in until a 6-week appointment. When I asked how I'd know when that appointment would be, I was told "we'll contact you".
I was also told to request my next prescription around day 15, for the same dose, which confirms no dose adjustment is planned before then. This doesn't match NICE guideline NG87, which recommends weekly review and dose titration against symptoms and side effects during this phase.
I wasn't given any information about self-monitoring blood pressure or pulse, despite this being standard during stimulant titration and dose changes. I was told that if I experienced irritability or unpleasant side effects, I should simply stop the medication and wait for review — but with no defined date for that review and no way to contact anyone in the interim, this leaves patients unsupported if something goes wrong.
I've raised these concerns formally with the service and am waiting to hear back. I want to be treated well and I understand titration takes time, but I'd expect a structured process with clear check-ins, not a flat dose with no support in between.

Medication choices and the titration plan should always be discussed with patients to ensure they meet individual needs, and the prescribing clinician should explain the process, including follow-up arrangements and what to do if side effects occur.
Patients are advised to stop the medication and contact our Duty Team if they experience significant side effects while taking a low starting dose.
We are aware that NICE guidance (NG87) states that titration may involve weekly review and dose adjustments where clinically appropriate. Our current process is to review patients within 4–6 weeks of starting medication. We are sorry if these arrangements were not clearly communicated during your appointment.

Absolutely brilliant and professional care received from all staff we dealt with at Psicon, from the team who first telephoned to arrange appointments, reception team at the Basingstoke centre, the professionals who saw our son and the paediatrician who we had an appointment online with. Excellent service provider
I got sent the forms really quickly. It took me a while to complete them as I was scared to go to the next stage but eventually I did and soon after I had my ADHD assessment. Later followed my ASD assessment a few months later. The total time from the initial screening to getting my assessment results was 10 months. If I had done my forms quicker I believe this timeframe would be shorter. I highly recommend going to Psicon.

Poor communication
Long wait times, very very difficult to manage to speak to someone. Emails aren’t responded to for a couple of weeks, and when they are they are a standard cut and paste without answering the actual query. Queue times on the phone can be over two hours. Overall a disappointing experience that has felt more difficult than needed.

Right to Choose for child ASD assessment
My daughter was referred to Psicon through Right to Choose in September. She had her ADOS in May. We then had her final appointment in June. Communication was good throughout the process and all the clinicians and staff that we met with were professional and friendly. Very pleased with the process and considering using them again for my son.
