The holiday was good
The holiday was good. The hotel at Eastbourne is deteriorating bodily. The lifts were useless and I got stuck in one and then the next day the fire alarm went off and the alarm was caused by that lift. The tire was stuck in and then we only had one little lift for the rest of the holiday which was not good. So get a better hotel next time in Eastbourne

This was our first coach holiday and will probably be our last.
Coach - not that comfortable.
Any kind of drink had to be paid for but as we only had a driver he couldn’t drive and take money at the same time. The driver was good but we were disappointed at the very limited number of times we could stop and walk about and take photos that were not through a dirty window. There is too much time spent in the coach and not enough time to immerse yourself in the lovely scenery that we actually only saw for 3 days.the scheduled trip to Loch Ness wasn’t included and it was only a few miles down the road from Inverness which we visited. Another destination was supposed to be a fishing village when it was really only 20 minutes for a toilet break with no time to look around and the promised cafe was shut. 2 nights in Thurso is 2 nights too long- not a great hotel and there is nothing in Thurso to do- it’s bleak and depressed.
One stop was at some caves which for the majority of the people on the coach were impossible to visit. So we had 2 hours sitting about in a hotel in the middle of nowhere with nothing to do.
Some of the other hotels left much to be desired - not always clean and cold,rooms that had definitely seen better days etc.
The food provided by most of the hotels was OK but having to eat late and be up early was more like a military exercise than a holiday.
Very often we had to manage our own suitcases too.
We were looking forward to this holiday but I,m afraid it didn’t really match up to its description

We’re pleased that you found your driver good, but we’re sorry that the comfort of the coach, limited opportunities to stop for sightseeing and photography, and the lack of time to explore some destinations affected your enjoyment. We also regret that the Loch Ness visit you expected was not included, and that the stop at the fishing village did not provide the opportunity to look around as anticipated. We understand how frustrating it must have been to find the café closed and to have limited options during the longer stop at the caves.
We’re also sorry to hear about your concerns regarding the standard and temperature of some hotel rooms, the early starts and late meals, and having to manage your luggage yourself on several occasions. We recognise that these details can make a significant difference to the comfort and enjoyment of a holiday.
Your comments about the itinerary, sightseeing opportunities, hotel standards and overall organisation are valuable, and we’ll share your feedback with the relevant team for consideration. We regret that the holiday did not reflect the experience you had hoped for based on its description.

this was a self drive holiday
this was a self drive holiday as we were to late for coach holiday option. It would be good if the tours available to the coach tour destinations were also available to the self drive with the appropriate charges, as often the tours are not taken up by the coach travelers.
As i use a stick we informed Shearings who did not inform the hotel, and we ended up having to use the stairs. It was the usual fare for the meals quite acceptable and plenty of staff to look after us. certainly use again

Great trip
The trip was great, all the hotels were fine and the food was good. ( don't expect five star). The coach was good and the driver was excellent. The places visited were all worth the visit and the scenery was fantastic, all in all a great relaxing trip.
