Buying a diamond for a beloved can be a daunting experience. The prices at the big houses (Cartier, Tiffany) reflect the power of their brand, but not necessarily the beauty or purity of the stone and its setting. Like many, I ended up browsing the many Hatton Garden houses, filling out online forms and requests for information, most of which remained without a response.

One DID respond however, and what a difference it made! It was already well past closing time when Urvi made contact over WhatsApp. A few messages later, a couple of models were shortlisted and would be available for me to view the next day—I had left this late, you see. I came the next day and bought an item just in time for the birthday.

This was just the first chapter. Madam was not fond of my choice, but was nonetheless touched by the intention. So, it was back to Shining Diamonds to work through options with Urvi. An order was placed and delivered on time through the post a few weeks later, and those were a stunning WIN.

Without Urvi's diligence and tact, this important milestone in our household would not have had the sparkle it received!

Went back after 7 years, to have my wedding ring repaired. Jasmine D was so friendly and welcoming. She explained the process thoroughly, gave a rough price and I proceeded. Joby at Shining Diamonds in Brighton helped us select our wedding band rings a couple of months ago. He was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful as we were only browsing initially and his help led us to a purchase.
He kept us updated in terms of when they were ready.
We collected our rings on Sunday morning, he was polite and courteous and made our experience pleasurable.

So we visited every store in jewellery quarter over the weekend and I must say shining diamonds stood out the best not just the store and the stock but the sales assistant chanelle she is just amazing she explained everything in detail regarding the Gia details so we understood more clearly was very welcoming and knows her stuff we havnt made a purchase yet but we plan to book an appointment in the new year as we dont live local lovely to meet you chanelle from Aishah and Ben

I went into Shining Diamonds to get an engagement ring for my soon-to-be wife and was delighted by both the service provided by Holly and Charlie. They were able to customise the perfect ring for my partner. I was kept well informed of the ring’s progress by Charlie and when it would be ready to collect. When it transpired the ring was ever so slightly loose on my partner’s finger, they were happy to re-size it free of change with the process only taking a couple of days.

We were so impressed by the quality and service on offer that we didn’t hesitate to return when it came time to picking our wedding bands!

Would absolutely recommend Shining Diamonds to anyone out there planning on getting down on one knee anytime soon.

My fiance and I bought a £3,885.00 engagement ring with Shining Diamonds in Hatton Garden. I had been to the store in advance to view the ring which I had seen on their website and then went in with my fiance at a later date. We were shown the platinum version of the stock ring I had seen online and then chose a diamond to fit in the same design. I reiterated many times that I did not want a high set ring and chose the stock ring based on this.

The ring was NOT a custom designed ring - it was a stock design (and we were provided with a stock number for it on our receipt).

We were not, at any time, provided with CAD images, drawings or designs, which Shining Diamonds state that they supply to you if you are buying a custom designed ring.

We paid in full in advance, which was a mistake as reputable stores would only take a deposit in this situation, but they insisted on this before going ahead.

When we finally went in to collect the ring, which was delayed by weeks due to their staffing problems, we were shocked to find that the setting was a lot higher than the ring that we had viewed in the store and not only that, there were numerous faults with the workmanship that were unacceptable.

We rejected the ring in store immediately but were denied a refund there and then, despite it being our legal consumer right. We were told that we would have to wait to speak to a manager the next day as there were only salespeople in the store that day.

We called the manager the next day and were refused a refund as the manager claimed that the ring was 'custom' made and that they would only be prepared to remake it as they did not give refunds for custom items. There was no way we wanted to do this as our trust had gone, the workmanship was so poor and we had already waited 7 weeks, with delays, for the ring. Also of course, the ring was NOT custom!

Eventually after a lot of anxiety we got a chargeback from our credit card company. Luckily credit card companies stand by Consumer Rights Act 2015 (which Shining Diamonds refused to do) and they took the money back from them on our behalf and refunded us.

It was an awful experience and if you are going to buy from them use a credit card. Check when you buy anything online or instore that they are not going to claim later that it is 'custom' made as you will have a hell of a battle getting your money back if anything goes wrong.

Ordered a £2500 ring from this company as a suprise for my wife's 40th.

It was a quick order, so a ring they had in stock and not custom sized or designed.

I requested a refund and they kept saying 'exchange' in correspondence.

I sent the ring back as requested. Tracked by Royal Mail and ensured for the full value. My colleagues in the office saw me put the ring safely in the jiffy bag with all certificates.

They confirmed the package had arrived (as confirmed by images Royal Mail sent me) but claimed everything but the ring box containing the ring was missing....

I requested evidence to back up their claim which they promised to respond to me with. A month went by and still no response despite numerous requests.

In the end I filed a charge back with the credit card company and got my full money back.

I'd avoid at all costs. This company are pure chancers. If you do purchase from them please use a credit card for financial protection.

We worked with Eleanor to design and craft an Engagement ring and we could not be happier with the result! She was extremely patient and resourceful helping us find the perfect stone. Would absolutely recomend.

Our experience at this place couldn't have been better! Kulraj S.was the most kind, helpful and knows everything there is to know about jewelry. He also did his best so we could get the ring (which needed downsizement) in 2 hours! The whole experience in Shining Diamonds was priceless because of him and the lovely lady also working there. Couldn't recommend Shining Diamonds enough!

Really happy with my ring! We took it back one week later to be resized- this was done on the same day. Fantastic service and thank you to Jobie for all his help during and after purchasing the ring :)
