Very impressed with Sterling Insurance, dealing with them felt more personal than with many companies and I felt I was treated as a valued individual rather than as a sales opportunity. Colleagues are helpful, patient and very knowledgable, and could fully answer all my questions. If I needed to call back with a query, colleagues could easily access and respond to the information from previous calls. Call times are not too long, and hold music and messages are tolerable!

Cheaper priced break down service.

This is a good company. Problem sometimes is that the services ( provided by local companies) can take quite a while before they arrive. One mechanic told me they could have arrived much earlier but they were not asked. So I don’t know where the delay in requesting services occurred

Good communication skills by Sterling staff. Good workable costs for car insurance. Seemingly customer value recognised.

It’s the first time I have used sterling motor insurance and right from the start they guided me through the process.

Been with sterling for 17 years now but a bit disappointed and unhappy this time, received a email telling me not to worry and my car insurance will automatically renew what they didn't tell me was it was twice last years price a staggering £860.00 more! On checking the comparison site could get for £725.00 total? There were even lower prices but I only used quotes from major suppliers. On phone call to sterling was told it was a mistake? And it was only £834.00inc tax and key cover still more than Aviva and Rac but told that was the best price. Not wanting to go through the hassle of changing provider I went for it and paid up. This is the first time in 17years they have disappointed me but as the cheapest quote I found was just under £600.00 I did think a loyal customer of many years should have been given a little discount. Hopefully next year will be back to there normal excellent service.

When dealing over the phone. However it takes a very long time for you to answer the phone 10minutes plus. Clearly you want to discourage phone contact.

How do I follow up on the response I received on my initial review titled 'Falsely Guided'?

The response was that I will receive a reply in 'due course', so it's been 7 days and I'm not sure how many days it would take to resolve the matter.

Not only was the policy exorbitant in comparison to other companies, we found the entire system for Sterling extremely frustrating. Their online portal does not work if outside the UK (even if using a VPN), nearly all communication is automated, and even after we told them we were moving to another company, we kept getting notifications about how their system would automatically renew our policy (and take payment) or saying we needed to renew. Even after getting a phone call from a real person, who said they would try to match the quote we had received (which was 50% less than Sterling's quote, same cover), we did not hear back from them. Definitely would not recommend.

The company solved a problem with which other companies were unable to assist.
I am most grateful for their ability to provide short term insurance cover for my car whilst I wait for the DVLA to register the car which I have brought to the UK from the Channel Islands.

Great service from Sales Advisor who processed my renewal quickly and efficiently. Not the lowest quote I had but prefer being able to talk to a human and knowing I can get help when needed. I hope to continue using them in the future.

I purchased insurance just over a week ago and I have been inundated with emails from your company. I don’t need them! This morning there were two and that’s by 0900 this morning. STOP!!!

I sent proof i had 4 years no claims they rejected it a day after the 14 grace period and then charged me a £150 admin fee to adjust the policy even so i messaged straight away they sneak fee.

this was an easy change from another insurance company and the whole process was swift and hassle free.
