Great honest service with fair advice and guidance

The company are helpful and hard working on your behalf to find the cheapish deal for gas and electric and water, and sort it all out for you, and are very well manner and polite over the phone and when they say that there going to ring they do on time. the adviser that i spoke to Aaron is very good and helpful, friendly and i would recommend to anyone

The essential issue i encountered was that the sales rep never disclosed the Standard Tracker – annual fixed retail fee for this site (exc. VAT) Retail fee, as a day rate, in either verbal or written terms prior to sending the contract. This daily fixed fee charged by Swift Switch is sizeable over a year term, in my case it amounted to approx an extra £300 incl VAT. The £300 extra fees outweighed the water charges savings quoted by £150. My water bill would essentially have risen by £150 had i signed up and switched.
So, are there savings, yes there are on some elements of the bill compared to my curent supplier, but there are additional costs on other elements, that outweigh the potential savings to a net increased costs outcome. Certainly in my case it was not an attractive deal, all points considered.
The standard tracker fixed fee is however clearly stated on the contract.
I questioned this fee with the rep, as it had not been mentioned at any time on the previous 3 phone calls and
3 emails.
Here is the response:
"The standard annual tracker would be a cost which is concurred when the business uses no water whatsoever, therefore this is the minimal amount you would pay on the water for the year. This would not be an additional cost! "

Judge that for yourself in terms of accuracy or validity, but that is not a correct description of the fee, it is payable and is due daily from the time of sign up, it is certainly an additional fixed cost to the other costs quoted and is payable regardless of water usage.
It is not a fee that is applied if you don't use any water.

Here is the standard contract description of that fee,
"Contract basics Your contract is binding from the date we accept your agreement. We’ll start to supply retail services to you from your go-live date. The contract will run for the length of time you agreed, either one, two or three years. Charges There are two parts that make up the overall Tracker contract charge:
Variable wholesale fees – While in contract, the price you pay for the water you use is set and published by the wholesaler for your region(s), not by us, and can go up or down.
Fixed retail fee – This is a fixed amount you pay each year for the retail services we provide. It stays the same during the contract term, it’s charged daily and is shown as a separate line item (broken down at an individual site level) on your bill."

My experience here is not a good one and i would urge all potential customers to check all fees, stated or not stated in advance, that appear on the contract. Do not rely upon email quotations or verbal discussions. I consider the rep's approach and non disclosure of all fees applicable in advance, and the responses thereafter, to have been misleading. Some people, judging by other negative feedback reviews, have had the same experience, and worse have had the real experience of increased bills, having signed up - and clearly having not read the actual contract terms . The Fixed Retail Fee would in most cases result in higher bills on switching, unless the water usage savings outweigh them, but that is realistically for customers with £1000+ annual water bills, even then the savings woúld be marginal. For smaller businesses, shops, offices etc, i can't see how any savings could be made, the fixed retail fee will in real terms represent about half of most small business water bills. The water usage costs are additional to that fee.

I found SwiftSwitch extremely easy to liaise with, head and shoulders above other companies I have been dealing with after moving into new commercial premises.
Alfie Harvey in particular, was extremely efficient and professional; he explained everything in great detail, whilst showing understanding of my own needs and circumstances too. It was a very easy and swift switchover, thanks to Alfie.

Everything was explained well and Mason took time to go through absolutely everything with me. My accounts were set up really quickly too.
