Second time using Talbots when moving house and can't fault their service! The buyers of our house solicitors' did their best to delay the process and Talbots were there every day asking for updates, chasing for paperwork and making sure the process was as smooth and streamline as possible for us. Big thanks to Sophie and Sara who over saw our case. Would highly recommend.

Made such a refreshing change to deal with people who took the time to make a phone call to keep me updated instead of endless emails. I was able to use a local branch for various things. This made it easier rather than having to travel to the branch where the conveyancing team are based. The receptionist in Kidderminster was very friendly and helpful. I would certainly recommend Sanjeev Sunder and his team (based in Dudley) for property transactions.

Charlotte - paralegal, was very helpful in assisting to provide updates when I didn't receive any from the appointed solicitor and having to chase. On the day of my completion which is already stressful I received an out of office reply from my appointed solicitor when chasing to confirm completion and checking we exchanged the day before as I had no follow up. Charlotte picked up this slack to simultaneously exchange and complete on the planned date. Overall, not a great experience and a big lack of communication.

It has been a very pleasant experience dealing with Talbots, legal matters are never easy but this company has made it very painless for us regarding a recent house move we would highly recommend them and thanks to Alysha and Sonia who have kept us informed every step of the way and given us clear guidance to understand information and we can’t thank them enough.

Don't use Talbot's Law. We had an an unnecessary stressful time and there were lots of miscommunication. The fact we completed on time had more to do with us pushing them to get the job done, than them being bothered to do what they were being paid to do. We didn't go through an estate agent because we were buying where we rented and so it was direct purchase from seller.

We were first instructed per the app to make a payment of £50 per person but because they somehow got my name wrong (?) I had to ring and pay manually. Which I did. Then an email was sent by them almost telling me off because we should have paid £420! There was nothing on the app that mentioned this and no prior email. I honestly felt like I was 12 being told off. The £420 was with regards to paying for searches on the property to be instructed. This was in May.

In July my partner got an email from an external company to pay another sum so they could start the searches on the property we were buying. We questioned this with our solicitor who basically gave such a fabricated story it was obvious that they were lying. They said we didn't have to pay this company and cc'd us into an email where they told said company to send an invoice to Talbot's because we had already paid. This also got me worried because we needed to complete in September and searches can take up to 8 weeks. Anyway, low and behold in a matter of a few weeks the searches were back and Talbot's were reviewing them. When we got the final bill it was confusing because they charged us for searches £395 but then put as a plus that we had £420 on our account which should have gone to the external company. If you're confused by this then that's exactly how we felt.

The conveyancing solicitor we were designated had a terrible attitude and always seemed to ask for things at 5pm on a Friday. When asked why they drip fed for information instead of asking for proof of funds in a more structured manner as in you will need to have A.B.C.D etc... they kept repeating themselves. We knew why they wanted said evidence that wasn't the issue. We wanted to know why they couldn't have outlined all possible outcomes in one go. It just felt messy. Again I was made to feel like I was insulting them by daring to challenge their inept procedures.

When we got the final statement to pay, they did it in a way that made no sense and to this day I'm sure I overpaid. When challenged they didn't clearly explain themselves.

To add to this the completion statement was not on company headed paper. When specifically asked for it to be put on company letterhead they sent It through with just the bank details and not the statement itself. Thankfully when we rang on the Tuesday (because Monday was August Bank holiday) and spoke to someone else, they forwarded it straight away as requested. We had to take it to the bank that same week to send a very large sum of money over as our deposit. We needed it to look like it came from an actual company and that it wasn't a scam.

We should have exchanged on the Wednesday after receiving a receipt of monies but nothing. We chased them on Thursday and after a small hiccup, exchanged ready for completion on the Friday. Thankfully we were dealing with a different person because our one was on holiday. We completed on the Friday 4th September 2026.

It has been a very stressful process and they could have handled things better. I'm personally very poorly and the stress, difficult communication and lack of understanding towards their client, me especially, really physically hurt me. In a job where people are already in a difficult situation and under certain stress, customer care should be taken into consideration. Yes they have to remain professional, but there's a line with how they should also treat others and that line is called respect.

Personally they are not a company we would recommend. I'm being generous giving 3 stars!

PS. Just so you know that my first review was taken down because I actually thanked two people for getting us to the finishing line. Hopefully those people will know how grateful I am for their help getting over the last hurdle.

Unfortunately, our experience with Talbots Law was quite disappointing. Communication was often slower than expected, with responses taking longer than we felt was reasonable. We found ourselves having to chase for updates on numerous occasions, which was frustrating and added unnecessary stress to the process.
A significant amount of follow-up was required from our side to ensure matters continued moving forward and that completion took place within a timely manner. We appreciate that delays can sometimes be unavoidable, but we would have expected more proactive communication and a greater sense of urgency throughout the process.
Overall, while the matter was eventually completed, the level of communication and the amount of chasing required left us disappointed with the service we received.

My experience with the conveyancing system was limited and I had some problems with the new computer I was using. However, things improved and I found the staff very helpful as things progressed.
