Great guide, very informative and accomodating

Our trip to tibet was amazing. Saw many beautiful historical and culturally significantly places which were breathtaking. Our guide Gyrong was also very accommodating and understanding. Definitely reccomend them and him.

Booking a spiritual trip like the Kailash yatra is a huge deal, and you really need a team you can trust with your safety. I recently travelled with Tibet Vista in a large group of 34, and they absolutely delivered.
Just a heads-up for anyone booking in the future, the Kathmandu portion of the trip was a bit disorganised, and the local partners in Nepal weren't the most helpful. However, the moment we crossed the border into Tibet, the service became excellent.
Our lead guide, Kelsang Dorje (who goes by KD), was incredible. He is extremely knowledgeable and really brought the background of all the monasteries we toured, as well as the capital city and Everest Base Camp, to life. He even went out of his way to show us real local spots for tea/restaurants/shopping and was always snapping amazing photos of our group. Whenever we hit a rough patch KD, and our other guide Tensing, stayed completely calm under pressure. They worked their magic to navigate the local restrictions, lock down our paperwork, find us places to sleep when there was very limited availability during the Kora, and get us the horses and oxygen we needed to keep us going safely.
Also must mention our Sherpa crew here (Shera, Nitesh, Babu). Trekking at that altitude is brutal, but they kept our spirits up with constant smiles and were always there to help us when we were struggling. They cooked fresh meals for us every single day, and keeping a massive group fed without a single case of a stomach bug is commendable.
If you are thinking of doing the Kailash trek or visiting Tibet, this is the company to use. They truly looked out for us and made sure we all finished the journey safely.

We chose Tibet Vista because we were looking for a Mount Kailash pilgrimage that balanced spirituality with comfort. We understood that traveling in Tibet is challenging and remote, and we weren’t expecting luxury everywhere. However, because this was a once-in-a-lifetime pilgrimage, we were willing to pay more for a tour operator that advertised better accommodations, comfort, and a well-organized experience. Unfortunately, while parts of the trip exceeded our expectations, there were several important areas where the experience did not match what was promised.

We recently completed our Mount Kailash and Everest Base Camp journey with Tibet Vista. Overall, it was a memorable pilgrimage, but there are several things future travelers should know before booking.

First, the positives. Our guide, Panchen Jab, was outstanding. He was knowledgeable, patient, caring, and always willing to help. Our coordinator, Kristin, was also excellent. Whenever issues arose, she responded quickly and genuinely tried to resolve them, which we appreciated.

However, I strongly recommend that anyone booking with Tibet Vista request the complete list of hotels before making the final payment and read the reviews yourself. Do not assume the accommodations shown during the booking process will be the ones you actually receive.

One of our biggest disappointments was our accommodation at Dirapuk. The accommodation we were initially shown appeared to be a shared dormitory-style room, but when we arrived, we were assigned a bunk-style compartment that felt more like a train sleeper cabin, with almost no room to move or breathe. My wife is claustrophobic, and we had informed Tibet Vista from the very beginning about her condition. We specifically requested upgraded accommodations well in advance, so this was very disappointing.

To make matters worse, we arrived in Dirapuk around 5:00 PM but were left waiting until approximately 8:30 PM without knowing where we would be staying. When we asked what was happening, we were told that a large tour group from India had arrived and had taken the available rooms. Interestingly, another family from Australia who arrived around the same time was accommodated at Zhirebu Lodge, while we continued waiting.

After waiting for about 3½ hours, we were finally told that alternative accommodation had been found, but it required us to walk approximately 2 km in the freezing cold after an already long day of travel. The alternative accommodation was extremely cold, with minimal insulation. It honestly felt like sleeping inside an icebox, making it one of the most uncomfortable nights of our pilgrimage.

Based on our experience, I would avoid staying at the Letu Hotel in Darchen. Our room had a strong sewer odor that made the stay very unpleasant. It’s not only our room other members who came in complained about the same thing. If you’re booking through Tibet Vista, ask if another hotel is available. The other family stayed in Himalaya hotel which was good and had good breakfast compared to Letu Hotel which had a very basic breakfast.

On the positive side, some of the upgraded hotels during the trip were excellent. We were very happy with the Shangri-La Hotel, the Hilton in Shigatse, and the Rongbuk Hotel near Everest Base Camp, Vienna Hotel, Gyirong Qiaomulang hotel which were comfortable and enjoyable.

Another recommendation is to ask how many people will be in your group and what size vehicle will be used. We were initially assigned a smaller bus that left very little room for luggage and personal belongings. After we raised our concerns, Tibet Vista arranged a larger bus, which made the rest of the journey much more comfortable.

The Mount Kailash pilgrimage itself was an incredible and life-changing experience. Tibet Vista has excellent guides and responsive coordinators, but travelers should be proactive about confirming hotels, transportation, room types, and upgrade requests before departure. Doing so can help avoid unexpected disappointments and ensure your focus remains on the spiritual journey rather than accommodation issues.

My intention in writing this review is not to discourage anyone from traveling with Tibet Vista, because Mount Kailash is truly a life-changing pilgrimage. I like Tibet Vista and its a good reputable company Rather, I hope future travelers ask the right questions before booking. Confirm the exact hotels, verify any promised upgrades in writing, ask how many people will be in your group, and confirm the type of vehicle that will be used. Had we done this more thoroughly, much of the stress we experienced could likely have been avoided.

Panchenjap is an excellent guide and took great pains to ensure a very good experience throughout our trip.

Given the high volume of tourists/ pilgrims for the Year of the Horse, there was a lot of uncertainty and some needed change of plans for stays and schedules. Tibet Vista did not have much control over most of this and perhaps underestimated some of the challenges. That said, Panchenjap and Tibet Vista (Kristin and others) were very responsive to any issues and did make changes on the fly to ensure a good experience. This included getting us hard-to-get horses for the toughest part of the Kailash Kora (morning of Day 2), adding in a short visit to the Nandi mountain near Darchen and an amazing visit to a quiet and beautiful part of Lake Manasarovar, along with upgrading a couple of hotel stays. This responsiveness and a real desire to provide a positive experience is much appreciated.

The only suggestion I would have is to alert others traveling this year (and in future) to expect some changes and uncertainties that are somewhat outside Tibet Vista's control given the nature of the travel and remoteness of some locations.

We have just returned from a spell-binding trip from Lhasa to EBC to Mount Kailash and ending in Kathmandu.

Our wonderful guide, Dickey, was so patient and attentive to every member of the party, offering sound advice related to the potential dangers of the altitude. She is also highly knowledgeable and provided us with a clear understanding of the history and significance of the sacred places we visited. She tirelessly dealt with all of the bureaucratic aspects of the paperwork and checkpoints, compounded in complexity in this Year of the Horse. And always with patience, good humour and a wonderful smile. Thank you so much for being the best guide we could have wished for :)

Our driver, Mr Li Jie navigated the steep passes safely and comfortably. Given the long distances involved, we wondered if it might not be possible to have two drivers on each tour. We are very grateful to Mr Li Jie for his kind service.

Le voyage était bien organisé et le contenu intéressant.
La réussite tient surtout à notre guide Dickey, qui a su être à notre écoute et nous informer au mieux.
Le programme a comporté des changements et Dickey se démenait pour adapter le programme en le rendant le plus riche possible.
Mais c'est surtout la patience et la bienveillance de Dickey qui nous a permis de préparer et réussir ce voyage... dont la Kora.

Just back from a 4 days trip in Lhasa with Tashi. It was an amazing trip facilitated by a professional, knowledgeable and patient guide. I learned a lot from him and I like how easy it was to ask questions. Throughout the trip, he made sure, everyone was at ease and was advancing at their own space, catering to different levels and navigating different nationalities. Everything was done for each individual to have the best experience as possible.
This is my second experience with Tibet Vista and I was already hooked, now it’s a done deal. The guide is an essential part of all of it, so once again: Thank Tashi for making it so smooth, enjoyable and unforgettable trip. @Tashi.

Had a great 15 day experience from Lhasa to Mt. Kailash! The accommodations from Lhasa, Everest Base Camp, and the Kailash Kora was of great standard giving the location and circumstances :)!
The guide Tenzin was friendly, approachable, and well versed in Buddhist and Tibetan history. We always have the feeling that he was watching out for us and taking care of us as a group. I would recommend using Tenzin in the future as a guide.
The Lon haul bus journeys were a challenge at times, but that is the nature of the location and rules that are beyond the control of the organization.
Overall 9/10 experience :)

I did the 15-days Kailash Tour with Tenzin and it was a great experience to explore a big part of Tibet. In the beginning we saw some cultural sites like Potala Palace and some Monasteries. Then we went to the mountains. It was a long drive, but Tenzin was always taking good care of us. We followed the itinerary like it was stated in advance.

Tenzin Gyaltsen is an incredibly experienced and patient guide. Since this was my first time on a tour like this, I really appreciated his guidance—and I'll certainly be recommending him to my friends.

The Tibet tour was exceptionally well organized, and our guide, Mr. Kunchok, brought each site to life with his deep knowledge of Tibetan history, culture, and religion. His explanations—particularly during our visit to the Potala Palace—were detailed, insightful, and easy to follow, even given the complexity of the subject matter.

Mr. Kunchok was attentive, patient, and always mindful of the group’s pace, particularly given the altitude challenges.

Logistics were handled smoothly, and we felt well taken care of throughout the journey.

The accommodations were well chosen, comfortable, and thoughtfully located, which greatly enhanced our overall experience. Every detail of the itinerary was carefully organized, allowing us to enjoy the trip without any concerns.

During our tour in Tibet, we experienced an unexpected bus breakdown. Despite the situation, our tour guide handled everything with remarkable efficiency and professionalism. He quickly arranged transfers to other buses, ensuring that our itinerary continued without disruption. His calm attitude, quick decision-making, and strong organizational skills turned a potentially stressful situation into a smooth experience for everyone. We truly appreciate his dedication and excellent service.

We did a private tour for three people, starting with the booking of the Qinghai–Tibet train tickets. Everything was arranged smoothly and professionally. Although we had a slight confusion at the train station, the issue was resolved quickly and efficiently.

In Lhasa, Mr. Gelek took exceptional care of us. He thoughtfully prepared water, oxygen canisters, and provided valuable information about all the places we visited. His attentiveness and knowledge made the trip even more enjoyable.

Looking back on this journey, I feel incredibly fortunate to have met such a wonderful group of people. I believe that this positive atmosphere did not happen by chance. It was the result of both Tibet Vista's excellent organization and Panchenjap's efforts as our guide and group leader.

Perhaps there was also a touch of the universe's blessing that brought us together, allowed us to travel side by side, and complete such a sacred and unforgettable pilgrimage.

This journey to Tibet and the Mount Kailash Kora have become an exceptionally special and precious life experience for me. Both Mia and Panchenjap undoubtedly played very important roles in making this experience so meaningful.
