ukofficialrecords.co.uk presents itself as though it is an official body, it is not. They simply take the information that you could just as easily put into the proper (gov.uk) site yourself - at twice the price and taking twice as long.

I asked them to obtain a death certificate for me on 27/01/2020. (Although at that time their website was misleading, realised that they were not an official government organisation, but as it was on a weekend and I could not contact the appropriate office myself, I decided to let them do it for me) They stated in their reply that it would be dispatched in 10 'business days'. I subsequently discovered that as the death had been registered within the previous six months the certificate could only be obtained from the registry office where the death was registered. I ascertained where this was and told UK Official Records. I also told them the contact telephone number for the office. They said they would tell me when they had obtained it. When I had heard nothing further from them I obtained the certificate myself. They eventually sent me a copy which arrived on 16 March 2020. They appear to be a quite incompetent organisation, who are much better at advertising their services that performing them.

I ordered my birth certificate before reading the reviews on here and I was worried about not receiving it due to all the negative reviews. My certificate turned up this morning it took about 11 days. I had no problems at all. Great service and would use them again.

Whilst legal this company charges considerably more for a service which can be obtained directly from the government for much less. I got caught because of the name they use, but the government sites always use .gov.uk Took them ten working days, no email acknowledgements whatsoever, and no apologies. So not technically a scam but definitely sneaky and expensively slow, because they apply to the government, and then send your certificate on to you. They are ripping you off by getting their ads at the top of Google Searches. Should be ashamed of themselves.

Ordered mine 12 days ago had email straight away, was a bit dubious as dispatch was misspelled, so looked them up and saw people saying a scam, well 12 days on and had this morning so not a scam

A total scam. I ordered a replacement birth certificate and then read reviews here and immediately tried to cancel my order but was told it was already being made even though it is not due to be delivered for 18 working days. You could get the same certificate on the gov.uk website for a fifth of the price. It’s shocking customer service that you cannot cancel an order within half an hour of making it. The customer service lady I spoke to was also very rude. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Don't use they are slow and twice the price of doing same thing through government website.

I used this service very recently and am very satisfied with their service , I received a confirmation email on order , the order tracking s was kept updated , I requested royal mail tracked as I live outside the UK and it arrived this morning exactly as requested so 10/10 for service .

Dont know what all the fuss is about, ordered 2 replacement birth certificates for my twins, got a email confirmation almost instantly that I could track my order on. After about a week of checking it says order was in print que and about 12 days later says was despatched and received a couple of days later. Will use again if needed.

Total scam got caught out. Waited over the 10 business days heard nothing so emailed to be told they had done 3 searches and that records still held with church. I queried this being on the local Parish Council as 6 years has passed so knew a scam at this point. They refunded part money and closed my case without informing me. Absolutely disgusting.

THIEVES, LIARS, SCAMMERS, DISGUSTING!
They took my money extremely promptly but never delivered the certificate.
They never provider me with reference number or tracking number.
They ignored my emails and phone calls in an attempt to resolve the matter. A birth cert or a refund! No reply at all.

They state on their contact form they will get back to you in 24-48 hours but that's just another lie.

Only contact this company if you like throwing money away.

The only positive reviews must be from the thieves themselves.

All I can say is that thanks to Trust Pilot and the reviews on it, I was able to stop my cheque in time so this absolute sham of a company couldn't get their hands on my money. This is a scam parading as a government body. It charges twice the price of the official government service but, as it comes up first in the Google search, you're led to believe they are the official body that deals with legalising documents. Steer well clear of these people. They should be banned and I really cannot believe they are allowed to continue operating like this.

As with the previous reviews, don't use. Site is a scam. Thankfully I paid through Paypal so raised a dispute with them in an effort to recover my money.

These people are a con. After a month of waiting, and being told on the phone by Emma that I would receive my document by last weekend, I've had an email today telling me that the information provided doesn't match the document and they can't print it. Yet they've already take my money

COMPLETE SCAM! Used this site by mistake thinking it was the official registry office site. Ordered a replacement for my late husband's death certificate. They replied that I must have given them the wrong date of death because they couldn't find it. I replied that I think I knew when my husband died! Now they have only refunded half of my money. Was double the normal price that the REAL registry office charge. Please avoid, I don't want this happening to anyone else.

I ordered a replacement birth certificate as lost my other one they told me it would come within 10 days and it came today so all in all it took 11 days it looks good so if I can order a passport now then we'll worth the £19.98

The best there is. They give professional advise and are true to their word. I can for sure recommend them. Communication is swift and accurate.

I wish I had read the other reviews on here before I used this company but I was in a hurry. I sent my degree for an apostle and they charged me an extra 35 pounds without my permission. When I wrote to them to ask them why they had charged me more, they told me it needed to be notarised by a solicitor. My degree was already notarised by a solicitor in my hometown for 10 pounds. They ignored that and made a new copy and notarised it by another solicitor for 35 pounds without my permission and expect me to pay for it. To make matters dodgier, they didn't include this on the final receipt. I have been emailing them since with sufficient evidence and their replies are blunt and unprofessional. Please avoid this company. Complete crooks.
