Buying a full shower room in Wickes Newport Road, Cardiff today. Staff member Anna went beyond to help me. She knew where everything was and was happy to answer lots of questions. She sorted out the order and arranged delivery. Efficient and lovely to deal with.

I was struggling to find some specific sized gate hinges in the Wickes Martlesham store until I was helped by Gemma. She quickly pointed me to the correct area of the correct aisle where I was able to find exactly what I needed. Thanks for the great customer service & for having the items I needed

Bought our bathroom suite about 5 years ago which was advertised with a 10 year guarantee. Just noticed there’s a hairline crack in the sink and the lacquer has started to peel from the vanity unit which cost over £500.
Contacted Wickes customer service to claim on the guarantee only to be told the crack in the sink was my fault for over tightening the plug and the unit isn’t guaranteed for water ingress!
I’ve fitted dozens of sinks and plugs and this has never happened before and never had a vanity unit absorb water to the point it damages the finish.
Be aware of the quality of Wickes ‘Hayman Dove Grey Vanity Unit’ as there’s another review for this on their website with a problem the same as mine.
I just get the feeling they have tried to wriggle out of any guarantee promise. The agent I live chatted even suggested I ‘googled’ the manufacturer and took it up with them! Unbelievable! They deny everything and wash their hands with faults by using that agent old excuse “It’s either your fault or not covered by their guarantee.”
Really disappointed by their lack of empathy and help.
If they resolve this I’ll put an update on this post but I doubt they will.

As the Wickes TV add depicts, we certainly were suffering from extreme ‘house-barrassment’ with regards to our kitchen. Installed over 30 years ago and looking extremely tired to put it mildly. Having steeled ourselves to get it sorted out, enter Marchela Chamberlain at the Crawley Wickes store. She’s an absolute gem, highly knowledgeable and lovely to deal with. Marchela carried out a home visit initially, and on our next meeting at the store showed us the computer generated end product. There was no comparison with the abomination we were scrapping to the proposed end product. After installation, we were delighted to see that the kitchen matched the original projected product almost exactly. The team carrying out the installation were great too. Highly professional, polite and informative. We had very few issues during the installation process and the disruption in the house was minimal.
We can certainly recommend anyone considering a new kitchen to go to the Crawley Wickes store and ask to speak to Marchela. You will receive excellent service and professional advice, not to mention a first class end product.

I had my compost delivered last week. As I am an older gardener I am also disabled and deaf. I have a notice on my door for people to ring the bell so I know they are there. My order was delivered early in the morning and dumped in the middle of my lawn. The driver did not let me know that they were here to deliver they just delivered onto my lawn. It wasn't until I went out to the bin I saw my order. If the driver had let me know they were here I could of explained my disability and asked them to leave them by the back gate. I had to wait three days before I could find anyone with the strength to move my order for me. I live on a main road so was worried it might have got taken

I was in Wickes , Hinckley on Saturday and Yussuf was extremely patient and helpful to me in finding the correct toilet seat! Who knew there are so many shapes and sizes!

Spent over £10,000 on a Wickes en-suite bathroom and the experience was, and still is, horrendous

Issues including:
- Incorrect installation date recorded by Wickes which meant parts being delivered months early, and expecting us to store them over Christmas

- Inaccurate initial survey requiring redesign before work started.
- Incorrect items delivered, delaying the installation.
- Damaged shower wall panels delivered unwrapped.
- Wrong tap supplied for our plumbing system.
- Shower installation required remedial work following a Mira engineer's inspection.
- Poor communication and weeks waiting for responses from Customer Services.
- Our case being closed while the shower was still not working correctly.
- Repeatedly having to chase issues ourselves rather than Wickes taking ownership.

The only positive was the installer, who was professional throughout and worked hard to resolve problems that were not of his making.

What should have been a straightforward en-suite installation is taking over five months to complete and the issues still as I type, remain unresolved.

Based on our experience, the project management and after-sales support fell well below the standard we expected from a national retailer.

I will never go in a Wickes store again, and will definitely be escalating an official complaint.

Called in to wickes today to purchase some wast pipe fittings for my block sink I was unsure to the parts I require I looked around and a kind assistance Tracy asked if there was anything she could help and was swiftly sourcing what I needed she helped me carry to the to till the whole visit was made a pleasant experience with Tracy’s help many thanks
