⭐ 1-STAR REVIEW – VERY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE WITH YORKSHIRE MOTORHOMES
Extremely disappointed with Yorkshire Motorhomes.
We purchased our motorhome from Yorkshire Motorhomes for around £30,000, expecting a safe, roadworthy vehicle and a reasonable level of after-sales service. Unfortunately, our experience has been anything but that.
On 22nd August, while travelling home on the A1/M1 link road, one of the rear passenger-side tyres suffered a blowout. Thankfully, we were able to maintain control of the motorhome and get safely onto the hard shoulder.
What should have been a straightforward wheel change turned into a much more serious problem. The spare wheel had seized underneath the motorhome, and the release cables had to be cut. Even then, the wheel could not be lowered and the entire spare-wheel mechanism had to be removed.
On further inspection, we discovered that all four tyres fitted to the motorhome were C-rated commercial van tyres rather than CP-rated motorhome tyres. This was extremely concerning, particularly given the seriousness of the blowout.
We have now had to pay over £600 ourselves for four replacement tyres and a replacement spare-wheel bracket — costs we feel we should never have had to face after owning the motorhome for only four months.
Unfortunately, this isn't an isolated issue. We have already experienced problems with a missing battery and missing gas pipe, requiring the motorhome to be returned to Yorkshire Motorhomes. We are also still waiting for confirmation that the habitation check was passed.
What is perhaps most disappointing is that despite raising all of these concerns with Yorkshire Motorhomes, absolutely nothing has been resolved. We have been left out of pocket and, more importantly, seriously concerned about the condition and safety of a vehicle we purchased from them.
For a company of this size and reputation, we expected much better customer service and after-sales support.
£30,000 is a lot of money to spend on a motorhome, and we expected to be able to trust that it had been properly checked and supplied with the correct equipment. Instead, four months later, we have spent over £600 putting things right ourselves and are still waiting for issues to be resolved.
This has been an extremely disappointing experience, and based on our experience so far, we would not buy from Yorkshire Motorhomes again.
I would strongly recommend anyone considering purchasing a motorhome from them to carry out their own thorough independent inspection before handing over their money.
The only thing we have had back is a couple of generic not our problem emails. But I'm sure they will copy and paste other stock answer from there other 1 star reviews on here in answer to this review. oh and still haven't got a habitation certificate to say its safe.
Please avoid and spend your money at somewhere who cares

This is a review for David in the awning department. He was really helpful gave us information we needed and the advice we wanted. He definitely knows what he’s doing . David was really nice to chat to and gave us all the info on the aftercare if we needed it. He is most definitely a credit to Yorkshire Caravans .
Will definitely go back for any new purchase.

we did have an idea of the type of motorhome/ camper van we were looking for. so in part our visit was about looking at what we had already seen reviews about on you tube. however we did not find what we were looking for on the day of our visit, but we were impressed by the knowledge and friendliness of the sales team.

Met a very helpful young man called Joe who was polite and very helpful if he wasnt sure he introduced us to someone that could answer our questions nothing was too much for him.

We bought a used caravan from these on 4th June 2026 on getting it home discovered it had a rotten floor in the gas locker and the brakes squealed like mad.we arranged to get it looked at and they required it for up 4 weeks to fix it. Whilst we were waiting for it to go in we went on a short trip in it and found a few more items that needed attention. On the 10th of August it went in for the repairs. They replaced the floor which as good. They took it for a test drive and couldn’t fault the brakes.The brakes work fine it’s the squealing that’s the problem. It also leans to one side but after there workshop looked at it I was assured it was ok ! There was a couple of other little jobs which needed looking at which they checked and said we’re ok ,so we will see. When we took delivery of the caravan it was supposed to have a pre delivery inspection and a damp check but we didn’t have any copies of this. So when I went to collect it these were printed off for me. One of the damp readings was in the caution zone so why wasn’t it investigated. I also found that dates on the copies of the pre delivery sheet and the damp report had a date of December of this year which I thought was a bit strange. On the way home after the repairs the brakes started squealing again and after contacting them they said they work fine. I know they work I can physically hear them working, to which they responded with they may squeak and there’s nothing much you can do about this. So the moral of all this is if you’re buying a caravan from Yorkshire caravans get your magnifying glass out and make sure everything is as it should be including looking at the paperwork before you even consider buying one

James was extremely helpful sorting out an awning for us. Very knowledgeable. Gave us the information then left us along to decide with no pressure at all. Definitely would buy from him again.

I found the staff extremely helpful also a shoutout to Mick and Clive who went above and beyond to get me on the road with my new caravan.

Pete was extremely helpful in helping us purchase are sky link sun canopy and sides. He was very informative. He even went out his way to save the canopy for us untill we collected our caravan. We would highly recommend Pete if you’re looking for an awning /canopy.

Just had delivered a front window for a Bailey Platinum 2021 which had been cracked and damaged through a stone hitting it.

I got this for £150
It was advertised as used
On inspection it really was as good as new
No scratches no faults

Ordered some parts for my caravan via Ebay, stu handled my order. A very professional service, the parts were in excellent condition and the delivery was smooth and fast. I will definitely be using this company again.

We have recently purchased a VW camper and I have to say Lala who sold the van was amazing. So knowledgeable, nothing so too much trouble. She is such an asset.

This is my first caravan purchase Mick was very helpful with the purchase and Clive was informative at the hand over, The Coachman was in superb condition, and the onsite cafe is brilliant, would definitely use Yorkshire Caravans again.

We traded in our Isabella Magnum Etna 340 at a good price (which we also bought previously from there) for the Isabella Capri North. We spent nearly £32,000 on what was supposed to be a brand-new caravan at this dealership. Our experience since has revealed a business that lacks both quality control and basic transparency.On our very first trip, we discovered multiple defects that should never exist on a factory-new vehicle, including deep scratches on the windows, terribly "bodged" sealant on the awning rail, and paint bloom on the exterior side panel. Most alarmingly, when we brought it back, the workshop secretively swapped out our mattress without telling us—a move that strongly suggests they were trying to hide a major issue like damp or water ingress from the bad sealant.The deceptive nature of this business became even clearer during our visit. The dealership deliberately took an exhausting six hours just to inspect our old caravan. While waiting, I witnessed a salesman using textbook high-pressure tactics on an elderly couple. He offered them an insultingly low price for their caravan, then claimed he would "speak to the manager" to get them a better deal. I watched him walk straight into an empty office—as the manager wasn’t even on the premises—stand there for a few minutes, and return to falsely claim the manager had approved a higher offer.Seeing how they manipulate vulnerable buyers, combined with the benched repairs and cover-ups on our own £32K caravan, makes it impossible to trust this dealership. Whether you are buying new or trading in, go somewhere else where you will be treated with honesty.
