This was by far the worst lodging experience we have ever had. The condo was overwhelmed with extremely strong fragrances that triggered allergic reactions, and the unit itself had serious cleanliness concerns, including dirty sheets and what appeared to be bed bug issues.

The surrounding beach area was also a major disappointment, with extensive construction taking place nearby.

What made the experience even worse was the lack of customer service. Responses were delayed, no meaningful solution was offered, and the cancellation policy shown on our receipt was not honored. We escalated the situation to both the general manager and regional manager, but neither provided a reasonable resolution. The regional manager never even returned my phone call.

We ultimately left the condo early because of the conditions, yet we have received no compensation and, at this point, not even a meaningful follow-up response.

Extremely disappointing experience from start to finish. This is the worst company we have ever dealt with, and I would not recommend booking with them.

This house is amazing! First impression was that it was absolutely beautiful and perfectly clean. It had everything we needed including beach towels, toys for the kids, and plenty of kitchen appliances and utensils. It had a great space for our big family. It is set up really well for a family who likes to hang out together, but also allows for extra spaces like the outdoor patios. Easy access to the beach and any shops that you’d want to visit. We would definitely come back!

The beach house was exactly as described/pictured. The pool and beach views and access to both were terrific! Clean home in safe area!

Easy access, location and probate pool

If I could give half a star I would . Absolutely dreadful company and experience I would strongly advise everyone to NOT book with this company . We flew over 10 hours to an apartment in the middle of a building site where the noise of the trucks was day and night and despite messaging and calling Avant there was no support no advice and certainly no solution offered .

The Wilder was great. Plenty of parking for everyone. Nice quiet area. House was huge! Bedrooms nice and bathrooms

I would give zero stars if I could.
I just learned that they cancelled our reservation, after being paid IN FULL 6 months ago. They offered a substitute venue, where we have stayed before. That property had many disappointing features, no wonder it’s available.

Horrible experience simply trying to RENT a vacation home. Impossible to get through to customer service, email and texting which they all offer is absolute crickets. Shocked how a company can operate like this

The host was incredible and communicated with us daily. The place was very clean and it was a perfect place for my family!

The agave house is the perfect getaway. We had a cousins trip for my bday and everything was lovely truly a cozy house, great pool, walking distance to the beach and stores, and a lot of parking space. We enjoyed our time here this house has great water pressure, beautiful working kitchen, comfy bedrooms/living room . And they send all the information you will need for your stay and our favorite part they left us a box of snacks as a welcome gift! Definitely worth the money the agave house does not disappoint.

What an amazing stay we had with AvantStay. The house is gorgeous, exceptionally clean and well maintained, which made us feel comfortable from the moment we walked in. Communication with the host was outstanding before and during our stay; they were attentive, friendly and provided clear instructions.
You can tell the hosts have thought of everything for a beach vacation… the home was well stocked with thoughtful amenities which made our stay even more enjoyable! Everything we needed was readily available, from a well-stocked kitchen to charging stations in each room.
We cannot wait to stay here again. This will be our go-to for Port A!

After an initial delay in getting a response via text regarding several concerns about the property I was satisfied with the communication provided by the AvantStay staff. They quickly made appropriate steps to address the issues and there was good follow up.
Also the staff member who took my call to help with an immediate problem was very helpful and relieved the stress I was feeling at the start of the stay.

We received an email with gate pass and door code 2 days before we checked in. Everything came via email and was easy to you. Condo was clean and worked properly as expected. We had a view from our porch of the beach and pool. Construction of the beach was happening but it did not impact our stay as they were not in front of us yet.

We had the most incredible stay at Sunset Hideaway in Port Aransas!
The property is just stunning….gorgeous decor and impeccable, thoughtful details throughout. Every inch of the space is beautiful, functional and incredibly well stocked! I’ve never stayed in a cleaner or better maintained vacation rental…the pride of ownership is incredibly evident throughout.
The floorplan is perfect for multi generational families….very functional and comfortable layout. The downstairs gameroom was perfect for the teens while the main living space was very spacious and comfortable for the adults. The top level master was such an inviting retreat while the other 2 bedrooms were beautiful, comfortable and very functional each with an en suite bathroom. The powder room and large laundry room were a great bonus!
The beds and linens were very clean and cozy! The kitchen was a joy to cook in and had everything we needed and much more! The bathrooms were well stocked with very nice toiletries!
The views of the nature preserve are stunning and we had a breathtaking show of birds one morning including many herons, egrets, ducks and a flock of gorgeous pink spoonbills.
The hosts were incredibly communicative, accommodating and welcoming! The precious arrival bags with hats, snacks, etc were the perfect cherry on top!
We would whole heartily recommend this rental to everyone! You won’t regret booking it!! I found myself commenting several times throughout my stay just how nice it was! Thank you to the hosts for offering your gorgeous home as the perfect vacation rental!

Our experience was wonderful. We really enjoyed our stay. Everything was as promised. Pictures were accurate, rooms were clean. Everything was tidy around the house and the hot tub was perfect.

Such an amazing property!! We all loved everything about this place. Very upscale, clean, and comfortable. We were three families vacationing together splitting cooking for breakfast and dinner. We found everything there to cook with without needing anything. Absolutely top notch beds and furniture. We were just absolutely amazed at the attention to detail put into this place!

We recently stayed at Barefoot & Salty and unfortunately left feeling that the property did not justify the premium price.

First, I completely understand not being able to accommodate an early check-in or late check-out because of other bookings. However, we drove by the property several times while waiting for the 4:00 PM check-in, and the only person we ever saw was a boy swimming in the pool. A woman from across the street eventually yelled over to him, and he peeked out from the fence soaking wet. It certainly didn’t appear that the property was actively being prepared for incoming guests.

Once inside, several issues became apparent:
* The pots, pans, and griddle were dirty and needed to be cleaned before use.
* The mattresses in all three bedrooms were extremely uncomfortable. I’ve honestly slept on sleeper sofas that were more comfortable.
* The air conditioning appeared to be remotely controlled. We repeatedly set it to 69–70°F, only to find it changed back to 74°F throughout the day and even overnight. Coming in from the Texas heat, this was frustrating.
* The towel supply was inadequate. Depending on where you look, the home is advertised to accommodate 8–12 guests, yet only five bath towels and five washcloths were provided. With five adults and two children returning from the beach, we ended up constantly washing towels just so everyone could shower.
* The washing machine itself appeared to be poorly maintained. The front door gasket had a thick buildup of green slime, and the machine had a noticeable moldy odor. Considering we had to do multiple loads of laundry because of the limited towels, this was especially disappointing.
* There was a significant amount of dog hair under the couch and the small table in the living room. Our granddaughter kept finding handfuls of hair while playing, and it was all underneath the furniture.
* The property is extremely strict about smoking and vaping, with detectors inside and warnings of a $500 fine if they’re unplugged. Yet there were cigarette butts scattered throughout the landscaping outside when we arrived. We actually picked them up ourselves because we didn’t want to risk being blamed for them.
* The person staying above the pool area repeatedly watched my daughter, daughter-in-law, and wife from the corner of a window while they were swimming. It made them very uncomfortable and took away from the privacy we expected while on vacation.
* Parking was difficult and very limited.

For the amount this property costs, the furnishings were surprisingly cheap and basic. It simply didn’t feel like a premium vacation rental. We’ve vacationed in Port Aransas every year for the past four years, and this was the most expensive property we’ve rented. In previous years we’ve stayed with Life in Paradise, where the rentals included a golf cart and beach rental credit. Those amenities were additional expenses with this rental. Last year we rented a five-bedroom home from them with a great outdoor area (the only thing it lacked was a pool), and even that property was several hundred dollars less than this one. I understood and accepted the price when I booked this property, but after our experience, I left disappointed because the quality, comfort, cleanliness, and amenities simply didn’t match what we paid.

The biggest positive was the outdoor entertainment area on the ground level. It was well done, comfortable, and easily the highlight of the property.

One final observation, there is a Ring camera positioned as you walk up the stairs in addition to another exterior camera. While I understand the need for exterior security cameras, the Ring camera location felt excessive and gave the impression that guests’ comings and goings were being closely monitored rather than simply protecting the property.

Overall, while the outdoor area was excellent, there were simply too many issues involving cleanliness, comfort, privacy, amenities, and overall value for us to justify the price. We won’t be returning and would look elsewhere for future trips to Port Aransas.

The house is beautiful and clean. The hosts were attentive and quick to respond. One of the ceiling fans did not work. Within an hour, a fan was sent by door dash. Highly recommended.

Beautiful home! Plenty of room, private pool, pool table, bbq pit, outdoor games! There is a huge supply of towels!
The beds are so comfortable and tons of pillows!
