I made an appointment with Boots Opticians in Warminster, hoping
to start wearing contact lenses.
I had previously tried contact lenses at another optician a few years ago but was unsuccessful.
From the start, the optician Alisha, was thorough, encouraging, and confident that I would be able to succeed with contact lenses. She was incredibly friendly and immediately put me at ease. She also worked hard to find the right prescription for me.
I then had a contact lens training session with another member of staff, Charlie, who helped me practise putting the lenses in and taking them out. Although I found the process quite frustrating at times, he was extremely patient, kind, and supportive throughout.
I cannot recommend them highly enough. The staff were approachable, friendly, and professional, making the whole experience a positive one.

We made an appointment with the understanding that the shop would be accessible for wheelchair users and that an eye test could be conducted without issue. However, when we arrived, it became immediately apparent that the entrance was not step-free, presenting a significant barrier right from the start. The staff on duty appeared uninterested and reluctant to assist, offering no guidance or explanation about how we could navigate the entrance or proceed with the appointment.
Inside, the space was extremely limited, with the eye test equipment positioned in such a way that it was impossible for a wheelchair user to comfortably access it. Instead of attempting to move things around or make accommodations, the staff seemed bothered by our presence and made no effort to help. We encountered another obstacle when trying to enter a room for additional checks, the doorway was far too narrow, preventing access altogether. The entire experience was disheartening, and it was clear from the staff's attitude that they were not interested in making their shop welcoming or accessible for disabled customers. Their lack of willingness and empathy made an already difficult situation even worse, leaving us feeling excluded and unwelcome.

Sam gave me a very through eye test and explained everything to me in a clear easy to understand way she then passed me onto Carol who very patiently listened to what I was looking for then helped me choose frames. I was a little undecided so she took photos on the iPad which really helped me choose the perfect pair. 5 star feedback for both ladies. Patient, friendly and helpful

I visited Boots Opticians in White City today to have my sunglasses repaired, and I was very impressed with the service I received. Juwariya was extremely helpful, friendly, and professional. She quickly assessed the issue and had my sunglasses repaired with just a few minutes. I would highly recommend the store to anyone looking for efficient and helpful optical services. Had an appointment that had to be cut short today at Boots Opticians Canary Wharf, might have been with someone called Brian. Optician started asking intrusive questions about my condition, to which I replied I was only there for the tests and that’s what I’m paying for, I asked them to skip the questions and do the tests and they refused so I left. A kind reminder to the staff at this location that opticians are not doctors and are not equipped to assess or diagnose neurological conditions.

With my old prescription? I called the plans team several times plus sent several emails , only to be ignored!! After being with Boots for 20+ years , it’s not how you’d expect to get treated .

This week I collected 2 new pairs of glasses from the Priory Meadow branch of Boots Opticians. The optician was excellent and explained all the choices. I have twice been back to have my glasses tightened and I would particularly like to thank Hannah, who was compassionate, kind and very helpful indeed. I will spread the word about this excellent optician and the aftercare which I received.

The service I received from staff at Falkirk High Street was excellent from start to finish. Nothing too much trouble. Dean and Ann were so helpful. 10/10 to all staff. Lily was so helpful to me on my first visit. Have been getting my glasses from Boots Opticians for over 30 years and wouldn't go anywhere else.

* Further to my original post on 23 May 2026, Boots Opticians very kindly replied to my concerns.
* However the did not address all my concerns and I still do not really understand their invoice provided.
* Invoice was for " SUPPLY & FIT" frame and lenses.
* The "SUPPLY" of frames and lens cost £102.30.
* The" FITTING" of glasses cost £227.70. This included to ensure glasses were SAFE/ACCURATE/TAILORED.
* My recollection was this may have taken approx 1 hour.
* Therefore I payed £227.70 for one hours fitting etc of glasses.
* No disrespect to Boots Opticians, but that seems to me your labour charges are £227.70 per hour approx give or take.
* I think currently Airline Pilots average £50/hour and Trauma Surgeons possibly £120/hour.
* Any way, it is what it is and I shall just move on.
