I read what I now believe was a false positive review of WALKING POLES costing £72.96 sold by CALYRA. I paid by Debit Card in December 2025. After a fortnight no sign of my delivery. Emailed CALYRA . One cheap and nasty pole arrived. Their advertising pictures and words mislead you into thinking you are getting two high tech quality walking poles. This is not the case.
After many emails presenting my consumer rights to them I settled for a 30% refund around £22.00. To get a full refund they wanted me to post the pole back to them in China. I was not prepared to RISK spending and losing anymore money .
One walking pole in the end cost me £50. My son found two of the exact same poles online for under £20.00.
Lesson learned ALWAYS CHECK TRUST PILOT reviews before parting with your money.

My experience with Calyra has been nothing short of exhausting. What should have been a simple purchase turned into a prolonged and unnecessary ordeal marked by poor communication, repeated escalation, and a complete lack of accountability.

The hoover I received was not fit for purpose, and instead of Calyra taking ownership, I was pushed through multiple complaint stages with no meaningful resolution. I had to chase updates constantly, repeat information, and fight for basic consumer rights that should have been acknowledged immediately.

Even after escalating the matter several times, the only resolution Calyra eventually offered was a 50% refund, an offer that was already inadequate given the circumstances, and one that I am still chasing to this day. Despite acknowledging the issue, they have failed to follow through, leaving me out of pocket and with a faulty device that cannot be used.

This entire experience has shown a worrying lack of reliability, transparency, and customer care. Calyra’s handling of this situation has left me with no confidence in their products or their after‑sales support. I would strongly caution others to consider the risks before purchasing from them.

If you're reading comments about Calyra then quite possibly you've already been duped by them. Like many, I hadn't realised that this was a company based in Hong Kong, not the UK.

I ordered a Cleanova Glide M7 from them in early Dec 2025 (£151.20). I was directed to their website after reading a review on a very cleverly worded site rating the M7 as the top buy amongst a few other more expensive vacuums. What I hadn't realised at the time was that each of the other vacuums when clicked on, ALL went to the M7. Also I hadn't realised that Calyra had a catalogue of just 7 items !

That link originally took me to Calyra, but now it links to ArenaTreasures 'dot' com which at last looking was offline. No surprises, it was a mirror of the Calyra website.

My M7 was supposed to arrive a week before Christmas, but I didn't get it until mid Jan 2026. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. Lightweight, very flimsy, tiny dust box. The mopping vacility was a tiny cloth you attach to the base with velcro. I didn't even try it, I put it back in the box and instigated returning it.

I had several email interactions with Calyra (20 in total). Every exchange was polite and understanding eventually offering me a 30% refund and keep the M7. I suggested that I would accept no less than 50% refund, which they finally agreed to.

During this period I began researching the company and was embarrassed that I had been so easily fooled. I read all of the reviews here on trustpilot and decided that I was going to take them on, because this is how they make their money. Supply you an inferior product, make it so difficult to return that you agree to a % refund and they pocket the rest. So I emailed them and said that I was no longer willing to accept anything less than a full refund and I opened a case with PayPal.

I eventually got confirmation from PayPal that I would get a full refund but I had to return the item. My PayPal case gave the return address as Unit 2a 17/f Glenealy Tower No 1 Central Hong Kong. However the email I received from PayPal said the return address was Shanwei Yitong E-commerce Technology Co., Ltd Opposite to Yiju Cheng, Harbor Road Shanwei City, Guangdong Province, China.

I contacted PayPal to clarify which address they wanted me to return it to and that I was unsure if Harbor Rd in Shanwei City was a real address, as I couldn't find it on Google Maps.

Sadly PayPal didn't respond to my query before the due date arrived on me returning the item and then closed the case in the sellers favour.

I then Messaged PayPal and said I wasn't happy with the way they'd handled my dispute. I explained that I feared paying international shipping fees to return a £150 item that may never reach a destination. They reopened my dispute for review but then quickly closed it again in favour of the seller. I Messaged again saying that it was ridiculous that they didn't answer my address query prior to the 'ship by' date they gave me to return it. I also then sent them the link to this trustpilot review page.

Then today, nearly 3 months since foolishly ordering the Cleanova Glide M7 PayPal fully refunded me and advised me to dispose of the vacuum in whatever way I saw fit.

So it took a lot of time and effort but I decided to take a stand, I was prepared to lose the lot and finally to my surprise I got a full refund and even better don't have to pay extortionate International tracked shipping to China.

Hopefully if you're reading this and still wondering if you should risk ordering from Calyra, then you now realise its a bad idea. If you've already ordered, then stick at it and hopefully you'll be successful in gaining a refund.

This company are total scammers. I ordered a cordless vacuum cleaner, their add showed a lovely picture of a similar vac to my old one with decent sized rotating brush and dust can. What I got when it eventually arrived was a small type car vac, which charged off a usb, not a proper power cord, with an eggcup size dust can, and was nothing like what their picture was. I tried using it, useless on carpets, no good for heavy dust or hair lifting and only good for warming your hand as it heated when used for three minutes or more.
I emailed them several times, they tried to tell me I got what I asked for. They even said I was getting a free gift ( nothing ) and £50 off next order. A joke company.

Company should be ashamed of it self. DO NOT BUY
Searched for best hiking poles and directed here from a product review website. Appeared to be a UK website offering delivery in a few days.
Ordered advertised pair of top quality hiking poles. Website clearly advertises a pair of walking poles evidenced in the pictures and order forms only to discover that it took weeks to arrive as behind the scenes its NOT a Uk company. But worse was they only sent one of the cheapest nastiest poorly made pole. Please note a single useless pole. Despite purchasing a pair and refused to send another one saying I brought one. Its like buying a pair of shoes which clearly shows a picture of a pair of shoes and them sending only one shoe then saying if you want a refund send it back at your own cost which is much more than the cheap waste of time product.
Do not touch with a barge pole. Report to Hongkong trading standards.

Absolute scammers. Don't give up people.
Report them to:
reporting dot reportfraud dot police dot uk.
They'll likely close the case shortly after siting insufficient evidence. Re-open it, keep on at them. Once enough people make enough noise they'll do something.
If PayPal close your case in the sellers favor, open it again. Keep trying. This crook needs shutting own.

Update: I spoke to PayPal on the phone. They advised I return the item despite my explanation that it is a scam and theyll report it not received. PayPal gave me the hong kong address and a voucher to pay for the return. Tracking status shows unable to deliver. If you search this address there are many, likely scam companies and websitesnusing it. The seller contacted asking for my bank details and to close the case with PayPal! I see someone got a refund via PayPal, well done! I'll be phoning PayPal again to get this resolved and also asking them to review all previous cases with these scammers.

We bought a night telescope from these scammers. It is of poor quality and does not focus, so is completely useless. They are only offering a partial refund. They are trying to force us to pay to return faulty goods back to China. We have complained many times. Do not buy from them!

Ordered what I thought was a cordless vacuum cleaner with a rotating brush head. I received different item to what I ordered and when I tried to rectify the order, I was told that the item I received would perform the same operations. It clearly does not and despite several attempts to get a refund or replacement, no suitable resolution was achieved. Seems like a scam, I would avoid at all costs.

Do not use. They mark themselves will fake reviews and then continue to make any returns incredibly hard and do not engage.

I'm currently undergoing treatment for cancer, so thought the Robot Vacuum would be a godsend. Trust me, an asthmatic mouse sucking through a straw would pick up more dirt. So the saga is continuing, they said they would give me a full refund, then told me they hadn't said that (they did, I have the screenshot to prove it) and then offered me a 50% refund. Which hasn't materialised. Please, DO NOT use this bunch of charlatans who think it's fine to exploit the vulnerability of cancer sufferers. I don't know how they sleep at night

Bought a vacuum Aerosweep S12 pro, absolute rubbish, far too small, doesn’t pick up anything , more like a toy . My mistake was buying through a Which type review page saying it was great ! Note to self , read the reviews on Here! Took weeks to arrive as well , took a 25 % refund to save sending back to China .Avoid

I ordered a robot vacuum cleaner early December as a Christmas present. When it became clear this product was not arriving in time for Christmas, I emailed them to cancel as I had to buy a replacement present. The robot was delivered 29th December by my Evri delivery guy who is amazing and I instantly returned this without accepting it and he booked it back in to be returned. Now I’m told it’s ‘lost’ and I can’t have a refund. End of story. They are a shocking company, do not use. I’m going to pursue this though….disgraceful! I wouldn’t rate them even 1 star but had no choice!

Wish I'd read reviews about this company before I ordered. What I ordered and what I received were not the same. I believe what I received is a fraction of the price of what I thought I was ordering. Delivery date given was before Xmas so I went ahead but it only arrived afterwards. Tried to cancel but had to wait until received then return but costs of return and any import duty back to China is for me to pay. Complete scam. They offered me 30% off to keep it. Hope I'll receive this but I'm doubtful given other people's comments. Prefer to do this than send it back as then I'll have no product and probably no refund!

I wanted to immediately cancel my order but was told that it couldn’t be done because it had already been processed. So I had to wait until it arrived and then send it back. Which cost me about 52 pounds. I am still waiting for my refund, as the company is not responding to my emails!

Awful experience do not buy from this company received a cordless vacuum with parts missing and keep getting told this will be sorted soon. 6 weeks on stil getting no response.

Weeks for robot vacuum to arrive despite it saying days. The vac is faulty and they are totally unresponsive. Stay well clear, complete rip off

Their communications are Good, Product took 7 weeks to arrive obviously from China, They should mention this at point of sale? nothing wrong with most goods from China, Item cost £150 probably worth about £50

Absolute SCAM. Do not purchase from these scammers. I list £140 and bank couldn’t refund.

Thankfully, they scammed me for not much.
I tried to recover the lost funds through PayPal, but they decided to close the case to the seller's advantage.
I had to accept the 30% discount (Goodwill) offer.
But I haven't received it either.

I think the replies come from AI, very polite indeed.
They are very clever, knowing that we can't do anything.

I would be interested to know if ANYONE managed to get the refund from PayPal or a credit card.

Absolutely rubbish.
Took weeks to receive my order , the order was incomplete. When I contacted company they had to have photos etc . They questioned me endlessly and refused a refund .
I finally agreed to 40%refund and keep the cheap incomplete item .
I cannot recommend this company. They advertise falsely, goods are cheap and useless.
