Drivers always cancelling

I use Careem for school drop off and pick ups and they are always cancelling.
What gives them the right to cancel at their own free will and leave a customer waiting whereas if I cancel I get charged a fee.
It's very normal to wait up to one hour for a taxi to actually arrive. Most days 2-4 cars cancel.

I strongly do not recommend Careem Car Rental.

My experience was extremely disappointing. The service and customer support are very poor, with serious mismanagement and lack of organization in handling issues.

The delay went as far as completely canceling the car delivery on the same day, and after I did not follow up past the scheduled pickup time, I was informed that the car was not available.

When I requested compensation for the significant disruption and inconvenience, they refused to provide compensation proportional to their mistake.

Additionally, some car options shown on their app were not actually available, making planning impossible.

Overall, the lack of communication, poor problem management, and misleading availability make this service very unreliable and unprofessional.

Mieser Service, Geld unberechtigt abgebucht

Viele nutzen die Careem App, aber ich kann mich den negativen Rezensionen nur anschließen. Careem „stiehlt“ aus der Careem pay wallet Geld (bei mir waren es 22,05$) und gibt sie nicht zurück, obwohl ich alle Nachweise geliefert habe. Mehr als 5 Tage hüllen sie sich in Schweigen und nur einmal zwischendurch hat jemand vom Support versucht mir zu erzählen, dass er keine Abbuchung findet….

Wenn es nicht die Unfähigkeit der Support Mitarbeiter ist, dann kann es nur Absicht und somit Betrug sein.

Schlechtester Service ever. Ich werde mich mal nach Alternativen umschauen und hoffe ich finde welche. Ich kann nur von Careem dringendst abraten!!! Offener Betrug!

Careem taxi is a rip off!

Careem taxi service is a rip off. On several occasions they blocked the expected charge for the ride, and then the final bill was always at least 15-20% more, which meant that your credit card was charged again for the difference. The explanation they give is traffic jams, driver was waiting for you etc. which is totally absurd since each time I came before the scheduled time and traffic jams at 6am to the airport are non existent. On top of that they use the longer routes just to charge you more. Stay away from Careem if you can!

They pre-authorized a 100 JD hold on my card and said they will release it in 3 weeks ?? The amount for the ride was 3 JD! Unacceptable! They're customer service is garbage and they make it extremely difficult to get in touch. You're better off using ANY other rideshare or food app

Utterly dissatisfied and disappointed

I am writing to express my absolute outrage. A two-hour delay resulted in cold and soggy food, making it the worst delivery service I have ever experienced. However, the response from your support team was even worse.
​The level of dissatisfaction I feel after speaking with your team is beyond imagination. Offering a 10 AED credit for a two-hour failure is not a resolution—it is an insult. I don’t want a refund; I want you to know that your lack of professional accountability is unacceptable. You will end up losing all credibility if this is how you treat your customers.

Extremely disappointed when placing an…

Extremely disappointed when placing an order at 18:17 and chatting with driver from 20mins as he was waiting for the order in front of the restaurant, an order for my 3 kids. The without any notice, the order got cancelled at 19:09. After writing to Careem, they replied by saying the restaurant was closed. What a big lie, and they failed to offer support through their customer service bot. A big big fail in 2026 customer service centric world!

Marked “Delivered” With No Delivery, Then Given Three Different Stories
Order #143158781 (McDonald’s), Amman, 30 December, marked delivered at 18:23 by driver Yhia Yones.

The order was allegedly delivered early. As the driver was supposedly arriving, I received an instant in-app notification stating the order was “delivered”.
There were no phone calls, no messages, and no contact from the driver or from Careem. I immediately went to meet the driver and there was no one there. No food was delivered.

What followed was a series of contradictory explanations from Careem customer service.

First, I was told the order had been delivered correctly, supported by a delivery image. No image was provided, no evidence was shared, and when I sent a photo of my actual room and location to compare, there was no reply. I was simply told no action could be taken according to Careem policy.

Next, I was told that both the driver and Careem attempted to contact me by phone, that the driver waited at my location for ten minutes, and that I failed to respond. This is categorically untrue. There were no missed calls, no messages, and no contact attempts of any kind.

Finally, I was informed that no refund was possible and that the issue had been highlighted to the restaurant, effectively shifting responsibility to McDonald’s, despite earlier claims that the order had already been delivered successfully.

So which version is correct?

Was the order delivered properly with photo evidence that Careem refuses to share?
Was it not delivered because I supposedly ignored calls that never happened?
Or is it now a restaurant issue?

Careem cannot keep its own account consistent. Each response contradicts the previous one, none are supported by evidence, and responsibility is shifted once the explanation is challenged.

Marking an order as delivered without delivering it is bad enough.
What makes this unacceptable is attempting to close the case using changing explanations instead of facts.

If this is how Careem handles a straightforward missing order, customers should think carefully before trusting them with their money or their time.

Horrific company

Stay away poor customer service no one calls you back they refused me a refund you would think it's coming out of the advisor pocket. The reply’s back are on copy & paste. Stick with uber or just eat if you can depending on your areas you are staying in.

Being scammed big time… as I took a…

Being scammed big time… as I took a ride with careem and paid the driver 50 AED even though the ride was 35 as he didn’t have change and so I left the balance for him. Surprisingly the driver didn’t even update the app mentioning that he took the fair for the ride…. Made 2 complaints in the app and it was ignored by simply mentioning to make sure driver updates next time and they want to recharge me for the fair…. They can’t even reach their own driver to make sure he took the fair and simply scamming me for the fair again. Worst customer service ever.

Careem low standards of service

I have an experience with their bikes services.. The app is Trash, lack the part of policy and rule for the service , they give few options on how to unlock one bike, they rush to the step of reserving your card or app pay details and then they go and deduct as they want, the app freeze a lot, no options of ending the ride which is weird. Reaching them is very difficult, their agents give contradictory information, in addition of lacking the manners to respond to a frustrated and misguided customer. I deleted the app awhile ago and I think the more we do this , they might review their services…

Pathetic service

Pathetic, unprofessional company with dishonored drivers, I have caught careem drivers many times taking longer routes and charging way over the displayed range at the time of booking.

Careem drivers notice your a tourist and take advantage.

The customer service is just as bad, they do not respond to the issue, just cookie cutter responses.

Awful awful.

When it goes wrong your left in cared for

Sadly bad having ordered a duck dish and when it arrived it was literally bone and fat we were greatly disappointed and left hungry… when contacting they said “your a valued customer sorry your food was not good enough but we won’t refund you” we messaged and asked for credit instead but nothing… honestly avoid like the plague as when it goes wrong there is not service
