After more than a year (started 10/07/23) of trying to get dead plants replaced, I've been given one excuse after another, and have finally decided to give up. I was a previous satisfied customer, now I'll never darken their doorway again! HORRIBLE customer service! Avoid this nursery!

Dead plants and horrible customer service.

Bad communication and problem resolution

Sent me an order I placed for the spring in the middle of winter. Never responded to me about the issue. They are a pretty shaky outfit.

Would give 0 if I could. Places an order on 9 Nov 2024. Had no contact from the seller. I had to reach out twice and it took them over a week to get back to me. On 29 November they stated my order was shipped, which was not the case, only to find out that they were shipping the order on nine December. Also their website is nowhere up-to-date because they keep trying to defend delays in orders and shipping due to COVID-19. Would avoid this place as as much as possible.

If I could leave a negative stars I would. My complaint is just as all the others so I won’t go into details but I would emphasize that I paid a $7.99 fee to have dead trees replaced. After losing $175 they socked me for another $7.99 promising to ship trees. This company has terrible reviews from the BBB and didn’t even respond to my complaint through the BBB. I am getting in contact with the TN attorney general’s office for further direction because very few customers have anything good to say. This company should be made to close its doors due to its scamming of customers.

This is complaint I sent to TN BBB. June 25, 2024 we ordered a Wahington Howthorn tree from Green Thumbs Garden online, Order#22383. After numerous complaint about shipment delays, we finallyreceived a dead tree on August 2, 2024. We have exchanged over 26 emails with Bre S. and Lisa (assume they are customer service reps) regarding the fact that the tree was dead and set pictures at their request and gave the tree they sent another three weeks to verify is was not producing any buds or leaves. At first, Bre S. agreed to replace the tree if we would pay another $7.99 replacement shipping fee...we agreed but, requests for instructions onhow to proceed never came despite our numerous requests and no replacement ever arrived. After additional complaint,on October 17, 2024, a different rep, Lisa, who was very apologetic, replied that they would send a replacement and waive that additional shipping fee and a promise to ship it"next week". Since then, nothing. We have sent numerous emails in following up but only getting "canned" responses that their email system returned saying that they would respond within 3 business days. I have also called several times. Their automated answering system requesting a reason for the call, a phone number, and promise to reply within 3 days...nothing. In my last email and phone to them I did specify that I would be reporting them to BBB and/or to the Tennessee Consumer Protection Agency if they did not repsond within 3 days...that was yesterday. The phone number on their website that I used is (931) 450-3577...you could call and get the same canned message. All we want now is a refund. I do have all of our email correspondencesif that helps you but forwarding those would be an EML file and cannot be attached here. I would probably need an email address to forward it to you. Ordered 6 fruit trees that arrived the end of August. I immediately opened the box and 5 trees had no leaves and 1 had only a couple. No leaves were in the box meaning they shipped these trees in terrible shape. I immediately contacted Green Thumbs Garden and was told to "Keep an Eye On Them." I planted them in large tree pots and kept them near our garden where I could make sure they were well watered and babied. Well 2 re-grew leaves, 3 completely died and the last I am not sure if it will make it. Contacted Green Thumbs (same person who told me to just keep an eye on them) just to be informed it was "Outside the Return Window." Very deceptive and shameful way to treat customers. Thankfully I only ordered a few trees to see the quality of thier product. Their loss because I will be putting in an orchard next year. Just buy from Lowes, Home Depot, Tractor Supply, etc. They are about 40% less expensive and actually alive when you get them.

Ordered plants in February to be shipped after frost date for my zone. after the due date, I repeatedly email asking where the order was, and was told there were delays, but would be shipped in the next few days. This occurred repeatedly over a month. I finally had to submit a dispute to my credit card company. Submitting a copy of all the emails I received, they refunded me immediately.

Ordered this product about a month ago and have not received product or have I heard from company one time. This is my second request for an answer.

Order Never Arrived

Called for a refund only to get an answering machine. Was told several times via email items were being "shipped today or tomorrow." Highly questionable company. Had to dispute with credit card company.

They sent me a link to review the plant - The plant showed up dead and dry in a box, and when I went to review their plant, I gave it a star out of five - they deleted it, right away, which means that their "Reviews" are all lies. I'll never get my money pack, but I hope people will see this and never order from this company.

If I could give a negative number I would. DO NOT ORDER from this "company!" Apparently, if you're questioning when your order will arrive, according their voicemail, they're so back in the woods in Tennessee they don't regularly receive phone calls. And forget about email.
They send you a canned email about getting back to you, they're soooo busy. Seriously! What a scam! I will be contacting my credit card company and reporting their fraud.

Ordered trees and they were never shipped. Contacted and Bri kept saying they would be shipeed out this week then would go mia for a month This happened two times I had to co through my creditcard company to retreve my lost funds.

Don't buy any thing from these crooks! I ordered a crepe Myrtle from them. It arrived three weeks late and was dead. I contacted Bre and she told me to scratch it and take a picture to prove it was dead. I did that and she informed me that since I had planted it, that they would not refund my money or replace it! The policy clearly states that if the plants don't break dormancy that they will replace it.

Ordered my hedge Plants nearly a month ago. They will not respond to my voice message or emails. Do not use this company.

Would give zero stars if possible. This company is a scam. They are taking people's money and NOT fulfilling orders. Ordered about a month ago. Reached out prior to delivery date to make sure everything was as scheduled as we wanted to be ready to receive our 60 plants. No response. Delivery date came and went. Reached out again when we didn't receive our plants. Company claimed "the USPS had our order and USPS hadn't processed it yet." Called USPS-USPS does not have our order. Buyer beware! Poor communication-outright lying. Never recieved order.

Over two months ago I purchased multiple plants from them. Shipping date April 15. As nothing showed up I inquired. Nothing was shipped out and they cancelled my order. What company is this ? Redneck nursery? I have ordered I paid they accepted. Contract valid . NOw I sue them. Don t buy there

This company will drag you on forever, with incredibly slow shipping times and terribly slow / inadequate customer service. Do not buy from them.

I purchased 2 Sargent apple trees from Green Thumbs Nursery. When they arrived they looked sketchy but I decided to plant and give them a chance. When my sixty other apple trees, many of which I grafted myself broke dormancy there was no signs of life with the 2 trees. I wrote to Green Thumbs and their reponse was that I should of read their policy that they do not take back trees that were planted. What a ridiculous policy and a rip off of $40.00. I have never been treated like this by any other nursery in all my years of working in the garden and having an orchard. I strongly advise anyone wanting to purchase a plant to get it from anywhere else other than green thumbs as most places including mail order have a 1 year policy. I hope Green Thumbs changes their ways and then prospers but for right now I would say be prepared to lose your hard earned dollars if you get a bad plant.
