Do not trust Mashreq - Poor Customer Support
They closed my account with balance 86,628 AED in it. Their customer support is very poor and they will not help. DO NOT OPEN ACCOUNT WITH MASHREQ. In this account I consistently maintained and average of +50,000 AED. They closed it when I am out of country while my Emirates ID is valid.
Where is my money?
I have checks issued from this account and my stock exchange investments were linked with this account.
I am in big trouble because of this bank.

Worst banking experience in UAE
I hold an account with Mashreq Bank; however, I have not been actively using it for some time. I previously attempted to close the account, but I was unable to proceed due to an internal error in the system.
Recently, I was informed via the bank’s customer service chatbot that a charge of AED 200 has been applied to my account for not maintaining the required balance. As this account has been inactive for a long period, I did not receive any prior notification—via phone, SMS, or email—regarding such charges.
The bank is now requesting that I settle the full amount in order to close the account. I find this situation highly concerning and unreasonable, particularly given the lack of prior communication.
This is the first time I have been made aware of these charges. As a result, I am considering terminating my remaining relationship with the bank, including cancelling my credit card. Based on this experience, I would also be unable to recommend the bank to others.
I kindly request a review of this matter and a fair resolution. I will make sure all the people in my circle started relation with this bank will put an end as well.

STRONGLY not recommended...
I applied for a loan, but the updates were very slow and there was no proper guidance on the next steps. The entire process took almost a month to complete. As a result of the delay, I ended up paying fines and other extra charges. Although the EMI was supposed to start after 60 days, I still had to pay my current dues because of the delay. Reviews are indeed helpful — I should have checked it earlier.

International transfer
Today I made a transfer of AED 18 to my home country which calculates up to LKR 1500, however they deducted AED 44. How come so much have been charged AED 25 apart from the AED 18 which is unbelievable and they do not show that how much will be deducted for the chargers while making the transfer. So disappointed

what a bad bank service.
i submitted an international transfer request on the 23rd of march for a small amount, on the 25th i was checking the status of the transfer to be surprised that it is under review, contacted the bank and later a lady called and asked for beneficiary extra address details which i provided directly, but unfortunately the status was still "under review", i emailed the bank 3 times asking to either execute the transfer or release the amount . unfortunately today the 26 of march i called the bank and still did not receive any action.

Honestly undoubtably the worst bank in the UAE ! Don’t waste your time or money. They randomly blocked my account for no reason at all. When I phoned them it was really stressful to speak to someone and then eventually I spoke to them and they said they can’t discuss the reason which is outrageous. They have suspended my funds for two months and I don’t even know if I will be able to get my funds back which is in the thousands!!!! terrible terrible service - banks should never operate this bad!!!

Mortgage scam
I applied for a mortgage with Mashreq Bank and their representative assured me my case looked good. They asked me to pay AED 1,050 as a processing fee, which I paid.
Now it has been 4 months and my application is still “under review.” They keep asking the same questions and documents again and again, with no progress and now no response at all.
This is a complete scam. They happily take your money and then disappear. Very disappointing experience and this is not a serious bank

I would give it -5 stars if that was an option. I just created a new Mashreq Neo account. I have deposited money but I am unable to spend or withdraw it, the transaction always gets declined. It is impossible to reahc a human through call or the chat app. The chat keeps getting disconnected and never reaches a human. The phone menu is useless too. Does it not make sense to have 'transaction declined' as an obvious option? Either way, terrible service throughout. Highly regret making an account with mashreq. It's only been two weeks and I am already planning on closing my account. Seeing all the reviews only confirmed what I should do. My only regret is not looking at these reviews before creating an account. In the end, All Mashreq will do is send an automated reply to this review, saying the same completely unhelpful and useless service suggestions like chat 24/7 or call. Only for the sake of it, none of it works. I am closing my account effective immediately.

I have a credit card and now i want to cancle my card but they give me a very hard time for card closing i am still stuck with them from last 7 days and they charge me a lot also but still i am waiting . i call them more then 15 time and i requested to them that its urgent because i applied loan from my education and if i will not close the card i cannot submit my fee on time there wise i have to pay late payment panelty or i will lose my one year then next year they allow me to sit in the exame but still no body is helping reason they charge my card twice and now i am waiting for settlement their service is realy bad i will not recomend to any one to go with mashreq bank

The most unprofessional bank i have ever seen
This has been the most unprofessional banking experience I have ever encountered. There is a total lack of communication, consistent delays in replies, and a complete failure in customer service. Despite being assigned a Relationship Manager, they are unreachable and unresponsive. I strongly advise other business owners to look elsewhere; this institution does not respect the time or needs of professional enterprises.

Very close-minded and inconsiderate…
Very close-minded and inconsiderate bank for a reversal of fees, which I easily ask for a different bank in the UAE, especially for a 1st time user of theirs. There are a lot of requirements to get your request initiated, like reversal of unwanted fees; however, despite complying with their terms, the bank will eventually reject your request. Please avoid this bank and go to another legit/better bank. Don't be easily persuaded by their card promotions like 1 Dhs food/item, as I did.
