Moorside Legal engage in harassment tactics, which (by their own admission in a letter) are purposely only just within the law. I have received multiple phone calls, texts and voicemails requesting payment. All this over a claim in which liability has not been confirmed by law.
As others have said, there is no way at all to contact them to discuss anything, as phone, website etc are exclusively to collect payment - I had to spend £10 sending a tracked/signed letter the their PO Box. Their written response was legally intimidating, dismissed everything I said, told me to get a lawyer and said they would proceed to court.
They never do this - if you're not in Manchester (their office base) they will not send a lawyer to your local county court due to travel expenses and the high probability that a judge will reduce the claim back down to the original £60. They will bail at the last minute but genuinely try to scare you into paying up. The "court costs" they like to threaten people with are: Court Issue Fee £35, Hearing Fee £27, capped Solicitor Costs £50. So £112 maximum + £60 for the original claim = £172, only £2 more than you'd pay if you get scared and pay up.
Don't ignore them but don't pay - get ready for court. It almost certainly won't happen and if it does you'll only be £2 worse off. That's all your risking: £2.

I really fail to understand how this is a legal company. For a company who appears to have the name "Legal", its quite surprising to know they do not act anyway legal.

My husband received a letter of claim from Moorside legal 2 years ago, we rang them right away and explained the PCN in question was appealed with NCP, NCP did not respond to the original appeal. NCP then passed the allegded debit to Trace, we challenge the claim from Trace and they backed off since NCP failed to respond to the appeal. Moorside then requested for us to send in the evidence. We did just that, they then decided to disregard the evidence and started using bully boy tactics to pursue the alleged debt. We then requested for the evidence from NCP acknowledging the appeal. The evidence was never sent to us, after several requests.

Just this very week, Moorside have sent another claim letter for the same PCN from a different company called Time24 UK ltd, which they claim to be acting on behalf.

How this is possible I really don't know. For a legal company they sure don't have staff who know much or do their jobs properly. They went cold for over year, thinking we might not notice, then came back with a different claim number and company.

I'm really not sure why there are no laws against such scrupulous bogus companies. This is the type of harassment that pushes innocent people to the edge.

We used to be able to correspond with them on "help" email address, (then was the response we got back in June 2025- "Thank you for your email.

We aim to respond to all emails within 5 days of receipt in the order in which they are received. We kindly ask that you do not chase a response during that time as it will allow us to respond to your email as quickly as possible....."

We never got the respond back. Today when you use the same email address this is the respond you would receive "Thank you for contacting Moorside Legal.

Please be advised that this mailbox is not monitored. We request that you access our online portal at ......portal.moorsidelegal..... and follow the instructions provided to submit your enquiry....."

Interesting how they no longer respond or communicate via emails.

Total crooks . I have emailed them and sent recorded delivery letters to them . It all started with a desputed parking fine . After them taking me to court twice . I opted for mediation.
I negotiated a small payment and paid immediately. 8 months later I received two letters in same envelope. One stating I had 7 days to pay . The other stating they had taken me to county court and I now had a ccj. After lots of letters to them and me contacting sra I got a email saying a para legal was looking into my case . Next day they confirmed they had found payment.
I still have a ccj .

Email received requesting I pay £170.
Slight problem, the name on the email is not me.
Requested what the charge was for and they couldn't tell me. I refuse to give my name and / or email address although I quote their ref number. Shambles set up !!

Horrendous experience with this company who cannot be contacted by telephone or e-mail to discuss or dispute. This means that early payment and reduced fines is impossible. When submitting evidence using the customer portal it is flat ignored and the threatening letters keep coming. UKCPS and Moorside Legal have repeatedly harassed my daughter for having a covered parking permit despite conclusive evidence that it was her car and her permit being in date. Informed them again and again that she suffers from severe anxiety which fell on deaf ears and they continued to threaten with a CCJ. After four years and for the sake of my daughters mental health I paid it off but this shameful, disgusting behaviour must be made public so that perhaps in the future someone benefits in court. I feel sorry for anyone going through a similar experience and also if you are reading this and work for either of these companies, get a real job so you can do something useful with your life, contribute to society and actually sleep at night with a clear concience.

Scam company, I been waiting for someone to pick up for 40 minutes and bare in mind I called them 3 times each time I waited 15 minutes and another time 20 minutes . They make you wait so you end up paying them without calling, but my query was to find out why I wasn't charged for my payment plan on the due date and when I made a manual I get a text message saying pay to avoid court action, so what did I pay for

Total amount outstanding: £170 for an unpaid parking charge. I don't have a vehicle ! I tried calling to speak to an agent. The phone line is only available for making payments. I emailed them to send me proof of the fine; no response.

I’m currently in the process of being taken to court by them and looking forward to seeing how things go on the day

Don’t forget, even if you lose in court you’re only going to have to pay the amount they’re already claiming and no CCJ is lodged in paid within a certain time frame so you have absolutely nothing to lose fighting it.

Plus it has to be heard in your local court, so even if they won it wouldn’t be enough to cover their costs for time administrating the case and attending the court

If everyone went to court with them, they would go bust so please please DO NOT PAY THEM

My complaint is about Moorside Legal Services’ conduct, not the underlying parking dispute.

Despite repeatedly offering evidence and, subsequently, providing confirmation from Marks & Spencer that I qualified for the advertised free parking entitlement, Moorside has continued to pursue County Court proceedings without, in my view, properly considering the evidence presented.

As a regulated law firm, I expected a fair and objective review once new evidence became available. Instead, I have been forced to continue defending a claim despite the retailer accepting that I met the parking conditions.

I am currently 33 weeks pregnant, and the continued pursuit of this matter has caused significant and unnecessary stress.

I will, however, be taking this all the way to court.

I hope this company burns to the ground and all the directors eventually get prison time, absolute parasites trying to con working people out of £170 for evidence i have to contradict this, can’t wait to see these scum bags in court, absolute robbing bastards and I am going to make it my mission to expose these parasites and shutdown. I would sooner lick toilet seats clean than work for this place, I hope all their staff walk with their heads down in shame, utter scum.

I was pursued for an alleged £70 outstanding balance nearly two years after paying the original £100 parking charge. When I asked for evidence explaining the extra £70, I was told Moorside had requested information from their client and would be in touch. Instead of providing that information, they issued a county court claim with more fees added. I ended up paying the balance to avoid the stress and possible escalation, but I was extremely disappointed with how the matter was handled.

Update- conflict of interest- Mike Marrs CEO of holding company of APN group was the president of the BPA (British parking association)until 2 weeks ago!!
Go figure, no wonder escalations got declined and protecting his one false income stream!!!
SRA why aren’t you being proactive, they are making a mockery of the legal profession and out of you the regulator.
No care - talk to them and their script is “pay or I will cut you off” and they do!
Can’t speak to legal - none legal personal on front line and no access to legal
Resolution - spoke to someone and they refuse to put in writing that it’s been satisfied! And this his a legal company!!!

Absolute scam and now having to get my solicitor involved.
Receive one email threatening a ccj straight away and court action.
Email has name and reference number only so called them but failed their authentication as my address is different as I live abroad, they hung up immediately no explanation, no goodbye. Called again, asked for a manager or litigation and they declined, wanted verification same result and again they just hung up and extremely aggressive. Should only have to give them what they gave me, but they are data mining!
Called third time and asked to speak to a specific paralegal but got declined. Eventually passed verification but still not my address and still will not send me any proof! Eventually got dates and location and I was definitely not in even country and can prove it. No email contact portal only, but can’t create an account as my abroad postcode isn’t recognised so can’t upload proof. But they are still going ahead with court even though it wasn’t me. Told them to email me with the court they are sending too and am waiting, so we can have a set aside to provide evidence and expose these scammers and companies they are representing!
Solicitor advised if a ccj appears that we should then take to remove and take them for damages, repeating his advice and that’s my advise to all. He’s even read all these reviews and I quote “ SRA need to strike all their solicitors off and not issue practicing certificates and someone with balls should start a group action!

You’re dealing with people here who should be imprisoned for such scandalous, entirely illegal practices.

I am taking my complaint all the way to the courts, no matter the cost to me. People like this should not be able to just get away with it.

Absolutely shocking company. Need a legal firm to investigate this company and those they represent!!
Only represent a few independent parking companies, nothing else, and have no customer service skills and refuse to accept any concept of wrongful tickets.
They are just paper shifting from their so called clients, zero effort to contact you, no due diligence but want their money and that’s all they care about. Even the clients they represent, you can’t get in touch with but can for payments only.
Stage one the client, then pass on to a sister company “trace group” then on to moorside legal. Double payment for moorside via trace group which is the APN group. Constant threats of a ccj, they come out the gates very strong!!

This is clearly a 3 point Ponzi scheme adding fees as it’s passed with zero effort to contact people. Ccj hearing by stealth!! Disgusting for hiding behind a solicitors practicing certificate. Needs investigating for collusion and obtaining fees by conning people. Even read some reviews of people who received fines for stopping at the parking signs to read it with the car still running!!! Absolute crooks!!

What kind of company in this day and age doesn't have an email address. This is a complete sham with no way of communication in the modern world. I am being threatened of fines and ccjs and I can't even contact the company in a timely manner. Very few people send letters these days and I find this extremely frustrating in the modern world. I can only presume that these are some sort of tactics to benefit themselves as there is no other explanation for it.

I have tried to contact this company via phone so many times i have lost count. I have contacted them on various phone numbers advertised, nobody answers. It states you can select option 2 for a call back, this doesn’t work. There is also a mention of a chatbot, but again there isn’t one. Pitiful service!

I felt this review was needed regarding all the negative reviews.
For the past number of days I have been dealing with the company regarding our daughters situation.
I have spoken to a number of customer service advisors.

All the advisors have given 100% I did as I was asked regarding correspondence that they needed I followed up with phone calls again customer service was excellent.
A resolution came through today for which I am truly grateful.
The only negative is the call waiting times which is not the customer advisors fault.
I don't know of the managers name who agreed the resolution today I didn't ask for an email confirming the resolution however I feel confident with Marks telephone conversation all is good.

No email address on the website. I'm not sure that this is a legit company and not a cowboy outfit. I got a random letter in the post demanding money for a parking fine. I just want to check the details of the alleged 'debt' before handing over any money.

This has to be a scam using a fake company to extort money from the public.

IVE BEEN ON THE PHONE TWICE THIS MORNING . WAITED 20 MINUTES BOTH TIMES THEN THE CALL IS MAGICALLY DISCONNECTED. I haven't been able to speak to anyone
