My wife and I have been looking into solar for awhile but were overwhelmed with all the information and different companies. Parker came by and explained everything wonderfully. He got us installed in 3 weeks! Great experience
Fast installation, quality service
I had been looking at solar for a while but still had some questions. Other companies only seemed willing to call me or do a virtual meeting, but Steven came to my home and explained the process and costs in an informative and non-pushy manner.
I liked the fact that they required no money up front and the price, although not the lowest I'd seen, was reasonable. I was completely blown away, however, by how quickly everything was installed. It was less than 3 weeks from the time I signed the contract to when their work crew showed up. It only took a day and they left everything neat and tidy behind themselves. I'm now waiting for the city to do their inspection and can't wait until I'm finally making my own power.
A positive experience for us!
We had been thinking about solar for a while, and got one of the Northern PWR reps who came in person to our home. He did his presentation, explained everything clearly and did the solar design and cost. It was not the least expensive option, but I did not want to have to wait months for the government loans to get approved, and they took care of all the permitting and inspections without any deposit or efficiency testing required.
After doing the applications for approval, I got a call a few days later to book an installation appointment. The installation time was very fast and they did a very professional job, which only took a few hours to complete. My system is now operational and is working as expected. We hope to start seeing our credits build up during these summer months! We have had nothing but positive things to say, so far.
Detailed Solar proposal
Jacob showed us a detailed proposal informing us of the benefits of home solar.
Trusted Advice
Jacob consulted with me and gave me a fair and objective case for home solar, I was able to understand why my power bills are so high and consider my options to hedge my household budget against future power price increases.

My sales rep came to the home for our scheduled consultation. The presentation was clean and professional. I was very pleased when they informed me that I was approved from the utility company. Panels were installed in 22 days and I passed inspection a week later. Excited to see these negative power bills start to roll in.
Great Service and product
Great Service and product. Very professional staff and easy to work with. From start to finish easy process.
These guys are crooks that do not…
These guys are crooks that do not accurately represent what they are selling. They were not clear on any labour and material breakdowns, everything was determined off what I was consuming vs the actual costs of the panels, inverter, misc materials and labour. I did try to get some clarity around these costs and was told that if I paid in cash, the system would be about 50k vs the 75k financed. The dollar per watt installed through Northern PWR is 7.22$/ watt. It should have been half. I feel that I was totally taken advantage of and seriously regret getting caught up with this company that pushed through applications without explaining any of this process. STAY AWAY to all consumers. They sell you on a fixed monthly cost and do not even mention the fact that transmission costs from your providers are still yours to deal with.
Likely Spam
Fortunately, I read the reviews here first. Now I have decided not to contact this company. I also saw their advertisement online and did an online assessment, thinking that there would be a preliminary result. Unexpectedly, they kept sending me messages and asked to come for an on-site assessment. At that time, I was really busy with many things at home and didn't have time to reply. They kept calling me. One time, I didn't pay attention and answered the phone casually, but the other party hung up immediately. Then they immediately sent messages again, and I noticed that the previous call was from them, and the phone number showed "Likely Spam". After that, I started to search for reviews of this company and saw so many real messages left by deceived customers. Thank you very much! The reviews you provided gave me a very important basis for decision making.
Yikes. So sleazy and opaque about what they’re doing. Stay far far away.
Yikes. So sleazy and opaque about what they’re doing. Stay far far away.
Met for a free consultation with Andrew (Andy) intending not to sign anything and just get some questions about solar answered, and we indeed did not sign anything. He said we need to check our eligibility by doing a soft credit check, and I felt like there was no harm in that. That was my first and thankfully only mistake. He then was asking for my income and bank account number, which I told him I don’t have on me so come back tomorrow. After he left I googled Northern PWR and saw all of the horrendous reviews of their bad work, sleazy behaviour, and bad communication. I then texted him to let him know not to come back tomorrow, we’re going to go another way. I thought it was over and no harm done.
By doing the soft credit check, for some reason that meant he had opened an account for a loan with FinanceIt under my name (of which he did not ask me and I would not have approved) and I only found out because they emailed me saying my loan account was open. (I repeat that I did not sign anything with him.) I emailed and called FinanceIt saying I had no interest in applying for a loan and that they need to cancel it but they responded saying that only the merchant (Northern PWR) can cancel it. So then I had to text Northern PWR again and tell him to cancel it today, and he responds saying it was only a soft credit check, and also that after my research I’ll for sure come back to them (implying he’s going to leave it open for me.) I respond repeating my request for him to cancel the account and that only he, the merchant, can cancel it.
I was only able to get it cancelled by sending screenshots of our conversation to FinanceIt but it took a while and was a pain. I definitely got a best case scenario here but wow, that came so close to being a disaster. Their lack of transparency and sneaky behaviour reeks of scammers. Stay far away.

Got solar panels installed by this company. They knocked outer power right off the bat by drilling through our main line. Then they finally fix that. They busted a hole in our living room wall and cut holes in our ceiling in the basement. Said they'd be back in a couple days to fix it. Over 3 weeks we leave messages. They don't reply back and they make excuses why they don't come out and fix it. Don't use this company if you can avoid them stay away their service is junk. I got pictures all the damage.

They completely misrepresented the solar system they sold me. It's been running for over a month and produces half of what is was designed to produce and when you try to contact them you are lucky to get short vague replies if they answer you at all. I've installed my own 10kw system in the past that drastically outperforms the more expensive and larger system t hat they installed. I paid $62,000 for a system I could have installed for half the price.
Quick Timeline
This company has the fastest timeline for getting solar installed that I have seen. Definitely would recommend them!
Stay away
I signed up and have been paying since October 2024 (now March 15, 2025), but their work is still incomplete. Communication is impossible, they don’t have a physical address, and canceling the contract is not an option. At this point, my only choice is to take legal action. This is so stressful.
Same story since November 2023
Company is completely unresponsive to requests. Waited months to get all the work completed and have been waiting months to get the final paperwork to submit to Greener Homes. "We'll look into it and get back to you shortly" is their normal response. Gave 1 star because I couldn't give them any lower.
Northern power is Fraudulent and has a shitty customer service .
Northern power is more like a organization who does not uphold their side of the agreement and i have been a victim recently , Since December 20 2024 when they claimed their solar installation is complete , The installation has not worked for one day . I have reported them to the consumer protection agency here in alberta and pls we all should do same . I will also take it futher by writing a petition to all relevant government agencies , notify them about all these unprofessional ways of fleecing people of their hard earned money by northern power . and will also seek redress in a court if need be . I will not be scammed of my money.
Northern Power proceed to phase 2 even though we asked them to cancel the conract the next day we sign in the project
Hey,
I saw a Facebook ad for solar panels in Alberta and filled out an online form to check my eligibility. I received a call promptly, and a sales representative visited the next day.
We signed a contract on February 6, 2025, but sent a cancellation letter on February 7, 2025. We called sales representative Tavia Dalrymple to inform her of the cancellation and also sent the cancellation letter via email and text message. We forwarded this same letter to Northern Power Support and the Bodhi online project progress site.
I also sent the cancellation letter to Financiet. They responded that the merchant could request to cancel the Line of Credit contract. However, I have not received any confirmation of cancellation from Northern Power, Bodhi, or Tavia.
Today, February 10th, I received a progress report from Bodhi stating that our project has moved to Phase 2 and has been approved by an engineer. I messaged Bodhi to inform them that this should not have progressed, as we had requested cancellation. We are not obligated to pay for this. I also messaged Financiet to inform them that the contract has not been canceled and that they should not approve the loan for this company.
There are reviews on Facebook and other websites stating that this company is fraudulent. I am concerned about why they are allowed to advertise on Facebook and continue operating their website. Why is Financiet approving their Line of Credit? They should be banned online to prevent other Albertans from falling victim to their practices.
NO honesty, integrity or care for customer service.
This company does not care about the experience of their customers. There is Zero Integrity or honesty and no accountability. From day one of meeting the sales rep (Jason Burke) we had nothing but promises that were broken repeatedly. Jason misrepresented himself as a partner when customer service later indicated his role was sales rep only. He misrepresented what could be included in the finance it loan (home improvement loans with the solar panel) while smoothly and convincingly assuring us all was being handled. In the end once the installation was completed, Northern PWR, did not care what promises were made by the Sales Rep. We have been told that is now between us and the Rep. Do not enter into a contract with this company. If you are considering .... think again. A company that knowingly allows their reps to lie to seal a deal and hide behind the customer not ensuring the promises are in the details of the contract is criminal in my opinion. While that is for sure true to make sure everything is in the contract. I trusted and believed what I was being told and had in writing in text messages. I submitted text proof of said promises and the manager Serenity was cold and unphased and told me that the "promises" made were now between us and the sales rep.
Before you enter an agreement or sign any documents with this company make sure everything that is discussed is in the contract. Doesn't matter if you have it in text or email.
Avoid Northern PWR at all costs (previously known as Fluent Power).
Northern Power's Customer Service is Not World Class
Northern Power installs solar panels, and after signing a contract in August to install them, I found out I had some critical structural repairs to do to my home before proceeding. I wrote to Northern Power and asked to cancel the contract within two days of signing it, which was well within the 10 day grace period to cancel with no penalty. While the contract with Northern Power was for the solar panels and installation, the loan to pay for the project was provided by Financeit.
It's been over three months since I asked to cancel and I'm still being billed by Financeit for services I never received. In Sept I contacted Northern Power asking why I'd received an email from Financeit saying my first installment was due, and was assured the cancelation had been sent for processing, but I kept getting notices that I owed money.
Since October, Northern Power has stopped responding to my emails and calls asking them to straighten this out. Financeit is the only one who has taken my calls, but they keep giving me the run around. In Sept the man I spoke to told me there was a note on my file to cancel it, and when I called another time I was told they haven't received the cancelation notice from Northern Power and can do nothing until that's received. I don't understand why these two companies can't be bothered to pick up the phone and talk to each other to expedite the cancellation. They keep finger pointing at each other and doing absolutely nothing. My credit rating is in jeopardy and my requests to Northen Power to ensure Financeit has everything they require to process the cancelation are going unanswered. Neither of them cares.
On their website Northern Power claims to be "dedicated to providing world class service," but the service I've received is sub par. They are in breech of contract to bill me for a service I never received and have caused more work for everyone by ignoring my request to resolve this issue. If a company can't do something as simple as process a cancelation, and completely disregards a client's request for help, it clearly shows they do not care about their customers at all. They would rather ignore you and leave it to the client to fight to get it resolved. If I do decide to proceed with getting solar panels installed in the future, I won't be using them based on this experience.
