QNB Alahli bank scams tourists in Egpty
QNB Alahli scammed us tourist in Egpty.
DO NOT USE THIS BANK!!!
This bank stole/scammed our British pounds.
And no one in the country of Egpty including "the actual bank" would help us to get our money back.
Couldn't wait to leave Egpty, every single day so many people tried to scam or overcharge us thinking we are cash cows.
Even the taxi driver when going to the airport, quoted us a price (and we gave him 300 hundred extra) during the journey demanded an additional £10 stating "we can afford it, what is it to us?!
Visited a branch of the bank, only to be told, we need to call 19700, we didn't have an Egptian number - we are on holiday.
Number appears to be premium number, no one would help us including our hotel to call the number.
I emailed the bank to lodge a complain on 3rd April 2025, and received a reply, thereafter they have blocked my email address - now all my subsequent emails are undelivered.
Shame I can't upload all my evidence as well - just to be petty.
what a totally useless bank
what a totally useless bank. app and website. despite being a first plus customer they treat me like a 3rd rate customer. shame on you QNB
Worst banking experience
Worst banking experience, unexperienced staff with no proper training or reference. Transaction takes ages for approval and many atm machines issues. Very frustrating system, it took me 5 trips to the bank to get a stupid transaction done and it’s not near completion yet.
Zero experience
Zero experience, so rude with clients, wasting time, employees are fresh graduates don't know how to speak with clients and no branch manager or senior to complain.
It was the worst experience ever
It was the worst experience ever! This bank just does not want retail clients. Activating a new beneficiary took 2 hours! Are we in the Middle Ages?
Zero Safety against Fraud, Extremely slow response and action
I will explain what happened:
I woke up on a Wednesday and discovered that someone had attempted to withdraw money from my credit card, but the transaction was declined due to insufficient funds. I called the bank and asked if I could block this merchant. They told me I needed to renew my card, so I hung up.
Thirty minutes later, I received a call from scammers claiming to be from QNB. They addressed me by name and said they were contacting me to update my bank information and verify that everything was up to date. Then they said they were testing their systems. They spent about ten minutes drawing me into their scheme before attempting the first transaction. Long story short, I was scammed out of 120,000 QAR (approximately \$32,000) in under ten minutes. The bank is blaming me, saying I shared the OTP.
Maybe I was at fault for sharing the OTP, but what if someone had stolen my wallet and phone, made the transactions, and then returned them? Why didn’t the bank flag such a large number of transactions in a short period of time, especially when my usual banking behavior is completely different? Isn’t there a limit in place?
I’ve learned from the Cyber Security Department that there are more than 50 scam cases per day, if not more. Why don’t banks implement fraud insurance or force customers to set transaction limits on their accounts, so customers aren’t fully responsible for fraud attacks? This is unacceptable.
Another issue is that I called the bank while I was still on the line with the scammers, and you wouldn’t believe how slow the bank’s response was in blocking the transactions. I even requested an account statement, following instructions from the Cyber Security Department at the Ministry of Internal Security, and they made me wait 48 hours for the transactions to appear on my statement. This should have been handled immediately to increase the chances of recovering the money.
All in all, you might as well keep your money under your pillow or in a drawer instead of at QNB. They can’t even trace the money. I’ll keep you updated on any developments.
worst experience with staff and their process.
worst experience with staff and their process for each task... keeps on
Ripp off charges if international transfer
Don't transfer your money from their bank to the account of another country. Apart from charging you, their middle bank will diduct from the amount you ve sent the charges which will not be reflected when you ll be sending your money, and it's a big amount and then the person will just get much less money. Ripp off from the bank as it is not clearly shown to he person during money sent process. Over 30%diduct from the money which were sent without notifying, no excuse for that and now they just say it's not them so can't solve it.
The mention for current account…
The mention for current account requirements on passport and QID but they cannot open that stupid peoples with stupid ideas
challenging to reach support
Unfortunately, I have consistently been unable to receive adequate assistance from customer service. It has always been challenging to reach support, and this issue persists.
Yesterday I wanted 2000 lira and I did…
Yesterday I wanted 2000 lira and I did not received the money from the machine of QNB finansbank in Bodrum Center (Turkey). No reason given, the screen had a sort of internet error. This QNB bank took 63 euro from my bankaccount. When I went to the QNB bank today they couldn t help me and told me to go to my bank in Holland. The bank employees don t speak English, they made jokes, laughed at us, they didn t care about this situation.
Very bad bank and useless employees.
This bank's employees let a scammer…
This bank's employees let a scammer company to charge my old (cancelled) credit card without even letting me know that they did it and add that payment into my new card. And they are super incompetent. Also their mobile banking and internet banking apps are the worst! They stop working whenever I need it. Their employees are the worst. They are just there to say "oh okay I understand" and not do nothing! 100% scammer arabic company. Fk them!
the worst bank I have ever known
the worst bank I have ever known. I would not recommend this bank to any of my relatives. They can provide good service even though we, as customers, have given what we should have given. We have paid the bill, but from the QNB side, it is very bad handling. It seems they want to make viral news and then want to listen to the screams of their customers.
QNB Alanya Customer Care Representative…
QNB Alanya Customer Care Representative Betul has extremely poor customer service. For almost a year I tried to connect with her she does not respond to my calls, emails and messages. I also tried to connect through the QNB website Turkey but still no response. I would not recommend someone to open an account in this area especially with the agent Betul. Very bad customer service on their Turkish website, sent several messages no response. I hope Head Office will read the bad reviews and take immediate action. Looking forward to see an improvement.
Worst bank in the world, from a QNB First Customer.
A third-world bank that pretends to be developed, but has a less developed infrastructure than a bank in Sudan. App randomly breaks, your money gets sent to thin air, customer service has 5 different answers depending on when you call and who. Staff not even trained in their protocols, pretends to not care when I point out they violate their OWN policy. The only bank in the world to say to me, a chargeback dispute fails because the other side didn't respond to us, so now we will charge you. Only to act so surprised when I show them the Visa handbook that says the bank automatically wins if the merchant fails to respond on time. What an absolute joke. Monkeys have a better organization than these clowns.
Worst at All
Worst at All. They are eligible to run a bank.
I am disappointed with your service. Today i went QNB landmark mall branch just 10 mins before (9th march 3.30) to open a new Account. The officer guy asked for my passport and he took a copy of my passport and he asked for my Pancard number i showed my Pancard from my phone. He asked me for the copy. He knows I don't have a photo copy of my Pancard in my hand. I requested him to take a copy of my Pancard he said he can't take a copy there. Why? Then how did he take a copy of my passport?? Actually i went last week to inquire about what are the required documents to open a bank account they didn't even mention that they need a pancard then why did he ask for my Pancard? QNB can't take a single photo copy of their customer? Poor.
QNB staff needs training
QNB staff needs training. I called customer service to open a current account they told me to keep documents ready and will ask their team to contact them. I waited and they told me sorry for the current account you have to go to the branch. Then I went to the branch they said no for the current account you have to go to Orreedo not us...so when I called you why the customer service didn't know about this? And the person who called me back was even not polite... For someone like me who doesn't have off on time, it's a big thing.
If there's something less than 1 star
If there's something less than 1 star, I would have choosen it. The worst bank in Egypt. Wrong Infos from hotline and in the branches, complicated processes, careless agents and zero cooperation and no follow-ups
It’s very bad bank for management and…
It’s very bad bank for management and system
