Pro’s: Sharp, but so are the cheapest knives on day one. Con’s: Japanese name but in fact Chinese. Not Damascus steel but etched pattern. Magnetic stand is useless, knives just drop off, so a hazard to anyone standing nearby.

Knife broke at the tang within 2 months. Customer services require me to post knife back to Japan and yet the post office and other UK parcel services will not accept bladed items meaning I am stuck with a broken knife. I have no idea why the need the broken knife back, surely the photographic evidence sent would suffice. Clearly a scam to stop you getting a refund
Really poor quality, poor customer service too

Mouldy box, logo is a sticker and fell off box. "Gift box" was not for the set I ordered, knives did not fit it properly. 4 out 6 steak knives had chipped handles. Lots of water marks on the knives, which although can be polished off. For the price, not good. Knife block was not as advertised, covered in dust, and poorly cut. Knives are sharp and the blades are actually fairly okay with paper test cutting. Yet to see how they hold up with real use. I got what I ordered ish but quality is not worth the price. Definitely some kind of scam site trying thier best it seems. Don't recommend. Shears were bad quality but support were fast when telling me the block was sent out separately and not infact missing.

I feel very stupid for not checking trust pilot before buying! This company is a total scam! I ordered a 16 piece knife set with block. I received completely the wrong items - a 6 set of steak knives and 6 random knives. As well as this they are awful quality and look like they could have come from temu! There was mould in the box they came in and 2 of the handles are broken. There is no number to call and trying to start a return process ends in an eternal loop where you have to post them at your expense to Japan! Thankfully my bank agree this is a scam and have refunded me but lesson learnt about checking trust pilot!!!

I would give zero stars if I could. This company has zero customer service and zero customer care. There is no way of contacting them. No number, no address and response from the message portal on their website. The product did arrive and seems nothing more than ok. BUT it took weeks to arrive. As it was ordered as a present, the fact that it took so long meant it could not be used as a present. Upon learning it would take so I immediately tried to contact the seller but there was no way to do so. To this day I have not been able to contact them and as said before they do not respond to their message portal. Stay away from this company.

100% not genuine. When you question your purchase they say they will send you a fake knife. Hence still waiting. Avoid, the payment on your bank will rang alarm bells. But nothing you can do as payed willingly. Wish I read the reviews before I ordered
Too good to.be true

I purchased a set of these knives. Despite following the care instructions, one of the knives has developed a small rust mark. I contacted Sakuto both on their website contact form and via their email support. Neither of these has been responded to! This is very poor customer service, considering how much we paid for these knives. We would definitely NOT recommend purchasing from this company, as there is clearly no aftercare. They are just happy to take your money, and are not bothered by all of the negative reviews they have been getting and will probably continue to get.

If I could give this minus rating I would.

Clearly fake!

Cheap etched knives, claim to be a uk based company, had a German phone number, return address on packaging is a dissolved company, when questioned, they provided and French address which looks like someone’s house.

I made the mistake of trusting the site and bought these, they took forever to arrive, and when they did they're clearly fake. They're rubbish steel knives with "etching" to make them look like damascus steel, but even the etching is poorly done.. The "engraving" they did is a crappy print that can be scratched off.

Do not buy!!!

I've purchased two of Sakuto Knives chef's knives as the start of a set for my son (gifts). One has broken with a chipped blade, which happened within the first 12-months. Sakuto Knives firstly tried to deny the knife was less than a year old. Despite evidence being provided. Then they simply stopped responding completely. How does a company that does not provide any service for it's expensive products continue to market themselves as a company offering Exceptional Service & Quality Products. Not the case I'm afraid. They won't replace the knife, won't respond to communication with both Support & Customer Services & won't be getting any more of my business.

First off they look really nice although not the orange colour that I thought I would get when ordering. They are also super light, a characteristic of a proper Japanese knife ( Chinese ones are much heavier). They are sharp, as my fingers can testify! another Japanese trait, BUT the aftersales backup is CRAP!
One of the handles has come apart after only a few weeks, and a month after emailing 3 times via the contact form I’ve had totally no response.

HI, I've bought the knives set one year ago and I have two of the smalls knives already broken and haven't been hardly used. The blade is 1 cm dipped in the handle and even of the little pressure that you put on the blade will come off.

This company will scam you package goes missing and they refused to replace or refund avoid

The worst experience. Ordered these before checking trustpilot, and tried to cancel immediately. They sent the product and I couldn’t refuse delivery, This is not a UK based company despite the UK domain. The knives were poor quality as I was expecting, so I returned them. Customer service was beyond appalling. Short and nonsensical replies, insisting I sent the knives back to an address is Japan. It’s been 24 days since I sent them and they have tried to be delivered twice, with no luck. I have sent them the tracking details and their customer service rep claim they haven’t heard anything. Avoid at all costs. I still haven’t got my money back, and I am tearing my hair out

Cleaver broke on first use. Cutting through chicken wings. No response from seller. Keeps deleting review on website. Avoid.

A total scam company. - paid over £400 for knives and they were probably worth £20 down the local market. Cheap Chinese rubbish and certainLY not high quality Japanese steel as claimed. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY

Cannot agree more with all the other negative reviews. I wish I’d checked trustpilot last year before I paid £400 for a set of knives that looks great but are the worst knives I have ever seen in my life. I am now at knife no 3 that is damaged (chips in the blade, bent tip, fractured tip). There was no response to my numerous complaints I made since last year when the first knife was damaged and I wrote a negative review yesterday along with pictures of the damaged knives and it was removed. They only have glowing reviews on the website. Please do not buy! Just to clarify, the knives have been looked after since day1, handwash only, dried with a cloth, not used for anything other than food prepping. Absolute scam!!!!

Deadly knives - I highly recommend avoiding! They are not Japanese steel they are cheap Chinese rubbish. I’ve had multiple incidents of large pieces of metal breaking off into the food! They could kill someone if they ate it! The last piece that broke off was over a cm long! Company did not respond to my complaints email.

Avoid at all costs, these knives are not Damascus steel knives. They are cheap kitchen knives, the kind you could buy in the pound shop. No chance of getting a refund - they request the knives to be returned to an address in Japan. Luckily, my credit card company has stepped in and made a full refund after I raised a dispute for the knives not being as advertised.
Once again, AVOID AT ALL COSTS - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED !
