I had been recommended the ‘Sash Window London Ltd’ by a close friend, he was very complimentary about the quality of the windows and the service he’d received.
From me visiting their showroom in Clapham Junction, to meeting James the sales consultant at my property, their surveyor and finally the fitting team, Dom, Kyle & Andrejs, the whole service was superb, I was kept informed at every stage of the process, with the fitting team leaving my property clean as if they hadn’t been there.
It’s an easy recommendation from me.

We did a long and careful due diligence when deciding to by new bay and casement windows. After much research, we opted for Sash Windows. While I still believe the product has good quality, the installation and service are the worst possible: unskilled, lazy and incapable team with poor to no supervision who kept on going with the installation even if the windows were clearly not fitting properly.
The installation was planned to take 4 days and we've had people over more than twice that time over many months with our bedroom unusable for months. While trying to do this joke of a job, we've had careless damages done to our floor and serious concerns about the procedure followed and possible damages to the house's structure.
The second installation team was far better but the damage had already been done.
Overall, a lengthy nightmare which has yet not been fully resolved and I worry about how long the windows will do a proper job.

Fantastic service and communication all the way through! We had all windows in our flat done, which was done in a very efficient one-week job and has greatly improved our quality of life already. Would highly recommend!

SWL has been recommended to us by some friends. We have replaced all the windows in our house and purchased the external door and the bi-folding doors for the extension in our kitchen.
All their products are beautifully made and unique; we receive many compliments for our PVCU heritage sash windows.
The entire process, from the sales to the installation, has been smooth and easy, and we have always been fully supported. The management team excellently handled our timelines, even when our builder got some delays, while the installers were always kind and professional.
SWL is a great company whit excellent people, remarkably considerate of the customer's needs.
We highly recommend it.

Took 6 months to complete the job due to shoddy workmanship, cancelled appointments by the company, lack of skilled staff and am MD who had no clue what was going on. A bunch of cowboys!

Sash Windows London recently replaced most of the windows/ doors in our house and we were really impressed. Carl and Dom who carried out the work were lovely and incredibly efficient, they barely took a break over the entire job! We are especially happy that they managed to carry out the work without the need for replastering, and they managed to refit our shutters. We would definitely recommend.

James - fantastic and extremely supportive throughout - I met with 5 window companies and James presented SWL in an extremely positive way - he was always available to talk through, I explained what some competitors were offering and he explained SWLs position. I appreciated his honesty and openness throughout the process and he did a standout job of promoting SWL. The reason we went with SWL was very much down to James and his approach

Maciek and Filip - honestly I don't think we could have asked for more from our two installers - they were exceptional. When they arrived on day 1 to fit our sliding door they noted there was a hidden wire they couldn't remove - but rather than be angry or look to change timings, they were very relaxed, kept noting that its no problem and they were flexible and could work around things. The door installation was incredibly smooth and they did a great job of getting the new lintel in place - so much so that we wanted to make sure that we got the two of them back for the window installations. Hannah moved things around to make that possible and we are so appreciative for that. Maciek and Filip are an absolute credit to the company - they were tireless, worked exceptionally hard every day, barely took breaks (even worked on a Saturday). No ask was too much for them (even when we had to move the scheduling around to accomodate a new bathroom being put in) - and they somehow managed to get all of our shutters back on. They consulted throughout on areas they wanted to make sure we were happy with before we proceeded and were an absolute joy for myself and Amanda to deal with. We have had a host of people in the house in the last few months installing various things and Maciek and Filip were by far and away the best we have dealt with by a long long way.

Hannah Bassett (customer care) - Hannah was also brilliant throughout - we had a few pieces to fit around regarding schedules and Hannah was extremely responsive and moved things around to accomodate - an absolute pleasure to deal with

We had a damaged (wooden) french door replaced with a PVC one a couple of weeks ago. The work was carried out to a very high standard and the workmen were really nice and professional. I would recommend Sash Windows without hesitation.

I don't usually write reviews but Sash Windows deserve credit where it's due. We had a large kitchen window replaced in an old Victorian house. The whole process was seamless and very professional. From James giving us the price to Mirel and Marius who did the fitting. Great work and a pleasure to work with. Thank you.

Thank you! We only needed 1 window replacing but still felt like we got an excellent service as if we were replacing a full house. The lead time initially was a very long time however this got pulled forward by almost 2 months which was brilliant. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

The whole process with Sash Windows London Ltd has been excellent. The initial consultation, payment and dates provided for installation was clear and efficient. The windows installation itself was very well managed - the window installers were professional, tidy and considerate. We are very happy with the installation, the window looks wonderful, and has really opened up the room! The final payment was quick and easy to make. All staff we worked with were great. I highly recommend Sash Windows Itd.

The company was reliable and delivered on schedule. We've had them install windows around our whole flat (11 total) and all the workers were very nice and efficient. There were a couple of issues like forgetting to install pull rings in the top windows and adding silicone caulking where the windows meet the walls that we had to remove since it's not paintable. But on the whole, everything was delivered to a high quality.

The good...The windows themselves are excellent. Thermally and acoustically they're superb and have made a huge improvement to the flat.

The bad...
* People don't seem to communicate. I had people not return emails, not call me back after they said they would, people turning up unannounced and people turning up not knowing what they're turning up for.
* First day they turned up, the fitter wanted to make a significantly larger cut around the surrounding wood panelling than had been agreed with the surveyor. I refused. Surveyor then had to return and tell the fitter that he was wrong. One day is lost here.
* Work started next day, but as they're a day late they could not finish the job and I had to wait a week for them to return.
* During this week, the scaffolding had to be removed (which they insisted upon after initially telling me it wasn't needed) and then the second part of the job could be magically completed without the need for scaffolding. They had some 'new prototype' system that just suddenly appeared out of nowhere that meant they didn't need the scaffolding (that I had to pay 50% for) for the second half of the job. Amazing timing.
* Quality control on the windows is poor. Out of three windows, three out of six handles were damaged and needed replacing. One handle was fitted nowhere near level from the factory which then had to be re-drilled and replaced. This then meant that the window had to be repainted around this section so there are now brush marks in the paint. Mastic was dripped around other areas and not removed. Dinks in the wood around the frames. I could go on... Clearly nobody checks the windows after they're manufactured.
* Windows not manufactured to the spec on the contract. I was then offered for the changes to be made retrospectively. I didn't believe this was going to be done to my satisfaction so I rejected that and agreed upon a discount. Discount was not removed from the bill when received and I had to then point this out.
* I made it extremely clear during the fitting that the sills needed to be at exactly the same height as they currently were. They put them at about 2cm lower.
* Quality of painting of the window sill, beading, etc. was poor and needed re-doing.
* After the first half of the job was completed, I then complained about several of the above items. I was then told "Oh...they haven't finished those windows...They'll do a walkaround to fix anything that you're not happy with..." Er....a) why can't it be done properly in the first place to a high standard without me having to complain and b) nobody ever did a walkaround with me to make sure I was happy.
* One window was not put in level and slanted clockwise. They then had to return and remove the window and put it back in again.
* Three months after fitting, the mastic filling around the wooden panels that join up to each side of one window have completely cracked all the way from top to bottom. So either the window is moving or they've used cheap mastic.

Overall...the whole experience was very stressful and considering the other reviews, nowhere near the level I was expecting. Wholly disappointing!

EDIT: SWL came to re-caulk the split around one of the windows. To their credit, SWL do their best to rectify any issues and all of the people I've dealt with are very nice. However, there were too many issues. Increased rating from 1* to 2*.

Great service from start to finish

I had a fantastic experience all around. Paul was lovely and explained all my options and talked me through the process. Everything was done on time. I had to make a few alterations (changes on my part) which Sash Windows was very accommodating about. After the installation one of the window sills was a little wobbly but they came back the next week and fixed it. Good customer service, beautiful windows - overall I would recommend Sash Windows to a friend

From beginning to end, Sash Windows London have been a dream to deal with. I live in a first floor flat, with a very unusual heritage window that was completely rotten and needed to be replaced 'like for like'.

From initial call, to viewing, measuring and organising the final installation, the whole Sash Windows London team have been professional and friendly throughout.

Everything has been done exactly as and when they said it would be, and I am just very impressed not only with the workmanship of the windows (which are perfect) but also just how smooth the team have made the whole process.

I'd happily recommend talking to the Sash Windows London about any replacement windows you may need.

I’m very happy with the work Sash Windows London Ltd. did for me. Although I was only having one window replaced, the service I received from the sales office, survey, various admin, and finally fitting was all excellent. Everyone seemed very efficient and good at what they were doing as well as being friendly toward me which I appreciated. Not cheap, but very good! Would use again.

Very impressed with the work carried out. They are real professionals and hoovered and swept before they left each day. Admin people were very helpful.
