Really disappointing
I am writing to express my disappointment with the Composite Decking Kit that I recently purchased from your company. The product has presented several challenges that were not clearly communicated at the time of purchase, leading to a frustrating experience.
Firstly, the product description on your website claims that the kit includes "all you need for your complete composite decking kit, ready to assemble." However, it fails to mention that additional cutting of pieces is required. This omission is misleading and caused significant delays and inconvenience during the assembly process.
Secondly, the instructions provided online are insufficient and unclear. Moreover, there was no paper copy of the instructions included in the kit, which is typically expected for such products. When I reached out for assistance, I was merely directed to the same inadequate online instructions, further compounding my frustration. The lack of comprehensive and clear assembly guidance is unacceptable for a product advertised as saving time and money.
Additionally, the customer service I received was poor. Instead of offering practical help, the response I received was to refer back to the online instructions that I had already found to be lacking. This dismissive approach did nothing to resolve my issues or improve my experience with your product.
The components of the kit – the tanalised subframe, decking boards, nosing boards, fascia boards, and fixing kit – may well be of good quality, but the assembly experience has been far from satisfactory. Despite the claims that the kit is "fully finished" and "ready to assemble," the reality has been quite the opposite.
I urge you to address these issues by:
• Clearly stating on the product page that additional cutting of pieces is required.
• Providing comprehensive, step-by-step instructions both online and as a paper copy included in the kit.
• Improving your customer service to offer real solutions rather than redirecting customers to unhelpful resources.
I hope you will take these concerns seriously and make the necessary improvements to ensure future customers do not encounter the same difficulties. I look forward to your prompt response and a satisfactory resolution to this matter
Rude staff. Need some training in customer care.
I visited the Blackpool store today. I couldn't find what I wanted so went to the counter for assistance. There was a young girl behind the counter, long black hair and covered in tattoos. She was on the phone to a customer. Seemed very polite until she put the phone down. I was stood directly in front of her and in full view and earshot of myself and another customer with a child shouted "God! I'll wipe you're a*** for you as well. They're so rude." If this is how the staff speak about customers behind their backs, not caring who hears this definitely isn't the shop for me. I turned and left and won't be going back.
As a footnote to this review. I just tried to post it and it told me my review contained inappropriate language. Well, say no more.
Unable to deliver what is promised
Ordered three fence panels for delivery. The order form said delivery 3-5 working days.However, no updates given and after almost 6 weeks- all Savoy could offer is a refund. I contacted another supplier on Friday evening and the panels delivered Monday morning. Wasted 6 weeks dealing with Savoy. Very poor.
Amazing quality products!
Amazing quality products! The driver was amazing and so polite. I highly recommend this company and all other businesses should be ashamed for selling timber at such high prices when it’s obvious that they can sell it much cheaper like without losing quality Savoy.
Excellent overall service
I bought Decking and accessories from Savoy at Wigan. The whole experience was excellent. The product was of high quality and the staff informative and helpful.
Deliveries of the main items were made on the day agree and the driver was very helpful.
Fascia's were not in stock when I needed them but within 5 days they delivered them to me despite being on click and collect. I had one query which Angie dealt with very professionally.
I can highly recommend Savoy Wigan based on my experience

Ordered a decking kit online to collect at the Preston store. The team kept me in the loop with when my order will be ready to collect.
I have just popped by to collect and the team were very helpful and polite. Helped us load the timber onto our van and are genuinely lovely people.
Long wait for a pile of wet mouldy timber
Placed a click and collect order for some bundles of battens expecting to be able to collect them reasonably soon but just kept getting emails telling me they'd be in touch. When I contacted them it turned out they were out of stock and waiting for more to come in. Why not tell me that one the website before I ordered and paid for them! 3 days I had to wait then when I collected them and got them home they were soaking wet so I split the bundles to dry them out and found they were stinking and covered in thick mould and some were edge of the log pieces that will be useless. Their prices are great but I guess you get what you pay for!

Refused to price match a item
Refused to price match a item after giving me the run around and asking for additional info which i supplied but because it was later not showing on the rival companies website they checked despite my evidence they stated T&C's deny me and was quite rude with it to boot. No Goodwill or empathy so ended up going to worktops.net and spending more money but getting x10 better customer service and not treated like dirt.
The company is good, delivery is poor!
The company is good, quality materials and at an affordable price. The delivery process is of poor quality at this savoy timber company. I paid £40 for a woman to call me in the morning at 8 am on a Thursday saying that the driver is in front of the door so that I can open it.
On the website it was written that I can choose my delivery slot and day. Therefore, I woke up at the door with a man. I was not at home, I told him to leave the goods in the garden. He left nothing and left. And he charged me £40 for nothing. This is bad quality from the savoy timber company, otherwise everything is ok.
Delivery service atrocious, bad communication
The experienced gentleman working in the timber yard cutting wood was very capable and everything cut well. However the home delivery is atrocious. After a whole morning of waiting with no communication from them I was told that the van had broken down. I did try to phone the shop but they do not pick up. They promised to deliver the next morning. Morning has passed, not heard a word. The shop still do not pick up although managed to get through early in the morning to confirm a morning delivery. Communication is terrible and they have wasted two days of my life. If they don't turn up over the last couple of working hours left then I think I should be reimbursed for the delivery money.

4/5 stars and all 4 are down to my fantastic experience with Savoy's driver Dave, who really was good as gold. 2/33 decking boards had damage (it happens) and agreed to be replaced. The timber was nice and solid otherwise.
The experience with contacting the Wigan branch was not so good... 3 word inconclusive replies via email and a uphill battle to get an answer over their phone resulted in me having to chase.. On replacement day they expected me to leave out damaged planks outside but failed to mention on email or phone. Once again, Dave made contact and smoothed it all out, what a guy.
Overall, a good firm and good materials but a slight let down on the office communications.

Ordered two fence panels delivery 3 to 5 days didnt arrive when I finally got through after several attempts was told it would be a couple of weeks I was told they would ring when they were in stock received one phone call which I missed since then at different times of the day tried to return the call no joy phone just not being answered as far as we know recently been bought by another firm their customer service is atrocious no one answering the phone tried at all different times still can't get through still waiting for delivery of the fence panels will not be ordering anything else from them they need someone to answer the phone at least very frustrating
