I wish I had read the reviews written by individuals who filed claims because I would never have purchased thia policy.
From 4/2025 there were 9 negative (1 star)reviews written and each was referencing harrassment by Tin Leg who required an inordinate amount of documentation ro prove the claim only to have Tin Leg deny the claim. Almost all of the positive reviews were about the ease with purachasing the insurance.
I have a pending claim since 12/2025 and each time I submit documents they request something more.
I received a call from Squaremouth who does business as Tin Leg offering to review my case under the Squaremouth Zero Complaint Department which is another scam. When questioned Squaremouth did not acknowledge that it was actually a dba for Tin Leg. In fact they alleged that they did not have access to the Tin Leg claim file. I received a letter from this Zero Complaint Department and now there are more documents required to pay this ligitimate claim.
We paid $5086.00 for the policy and are demanding about $17,000. for our claim. One of our travelers had received a diagnosis which prevented him from traveling and his physicin confirmed that he should not travel and that this was not a preexisting illness. ( the medical records confirmed this). Still Tin Leg refuses to pay. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS INSURANCE.

Their prices are low because they never pay their claims. They are scammers. Trust me I have filed two legitimate claims and after weeks and weeks of back and forth they deny all claims. I have heard the same from a number of others as well. AVOID THEM. WHAT GOOD IS A LOW PREMIUM WHEN THEY DON'T PAY CLAIMS ! BEWARE !

Tin Leg/Squaremouth website makes it easy to compare quotes from different companies. Seemingly, Tin Leg policies always come out cheaper and better in the quote comparison process, which does not tell you Tin Leg narrowly defines trip delay, cancelation and all that. Once a claim is filed, the adjuster will endlessly press you to produce documents (i.e. they're trying to find reasons to deny your claim). In my case, my flight was delayed/cancelled due to a mechanical issue of the plane. Tin Leg denied my claim because of that (they said that's not covered by their policy). I'd gone through a lot of trouble to request the airline to email me the reason of my flight delay! Google around and read your contract. Apparently, some Reddit folks had the same experience. [Please check out TinLeg's reply below. If you encounter delay associated with plane issues, airport issues, extra long TSA lines (happening now), etc., you're on your own! Buying this type of travel insurance gives a false sense of security. I will definitely look elsewhere for my travel insurance purchase in the future.]

I wanted just international medical coverage, and I could select that option, got a good comparison of their different levels, and purchasing was straightforward, and even better I could put the policy number and phone number in my apple wallet.

Easy to selected a plan from various options and easy enrolled in the plan. The contact numbers are clearly listed in the policy. Great value for just medical Evacuation emergency. Have not experience claim process and knock wood that I do not have to.

I have not had to file a claim on a tin leg policy (thankfully), but, if needed, I hope the claim process is as smooth as the purchase process.

I use Tin Leg every time I go overseas. Their policies are reasonable and when I had to file a claim they were awesome to work with. I recommend Tin Leg to all my friends.
