Horrible platform from start to finish
Horrible platform from start to finish. Not user friendly or intuitive to use at all. Spent an hour filling everything in on this "free" software only to be told I had to pay at the end because my file became "complex" when I entered in medical expenses. Then the next day when I went back in to review my file, it was gone. All of my tax information was still there, but the actual return was gone and nothing would come up when I tried to open it. Also, the software is not adapted for your phone at all, so it has to be done on a computer. Overall terrible experience. I have already deleted my account and willl be using a better option next year!

this program is just awful, no support when there is a problem because the telephone number listed is wrong and has been changed and the new one is not available anywhere. would absolutely not recommend this to anyone ever.

Ufile product is great.Been using it for years.This year ran into an issue with my refund being automatically applied to my husband's taxes owed.Despite looking everywhere and updating, could find nowhere to change this. I called the 1 888 number. Wait time 3 minutes.waited over 20 mins. Explained my problem and was asked to repeat.i did. Then was told CRA doesn't allow that.I explained that the software was doing it.She repeated that it wasn't allowed. Then she hung up on me! Rudest, most unhelpful contact center person EVER!!!

I wish I could give them 0 star as their customer service is very very bad. The lady I talked to was very rude and said I should change the software and she hung up the call. I am changing the software to tax cycle.

Thought I'd give UFILE a try (been a long time Turbotax customer) - by far one of the worst online tax programs I have ever used...complete garbage
They advertise as free tax filing but…
They advertise as free tax filing but they are not free.
Only when you give them all your tax information they will take you to a payment page to file.
They are not free.
You can not call anyone useful at the company, they can not help and have no answers.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.

Just spent an hour loading all mine and my spouses details in...and no where did it say what we owed or had to pay????? How do you call this tax software. What a waste of my time. I hope your delete feature works at least!

Stay away please dont waste your money or time! It's been one problem after another for me.
The compatability of the software with the actual tax forms is HORRIBLE. So if you call revenue canada for help, they have a very hard time helping because there's hardly any form numbers for any of the fields in the software. It's impossible to ask Ufile for help unless you buy an upgrade, so forget that option if you don't pay. You'll have wasted your time and trapped into upgrading for some support.
The government should not be allowing these third party companies to mess up our returns with so much confusion. Clearly many people are trapped into the "Free software" trap and then rush or guess their way to finishing their return without paying for the help they need to do it right. If they're going to offer free filing, support should also be offered for free especially when the questions relate to understanding the layout of their horrible over-complicated software that looks like it was designed by a 12 year old.

Worst customer service ever
Worst customer service ever, the representative rudely disconnected the call during our conversation and refused to provide a refund, when their servers were down and they were unable to Netfile with the CRA due to their server error. Now I need to fill out all the tax info again with a different software that doesn't have problems (and hopefully better customer service).

Ufile Online platform has been down for the past 3 days. Unable to login, and the tax filing deadline is 2 days. I have used Ufile for 10+ years and this is unprecedented.

UFile did not save the work I had done on my tax return. The box states that online includes free telephone support. When looking for said telephone support everything I could find insisted that there is NO online support! I will not be using this software again.

I used the auto-fill my return to DL my wife's data. Many of the "issued by" fields caused Ufile to flag them as errors. When I tried to use "Click here to review .." Ufile hangs and I have to exit the session to recover. I see in the Ufile Community site that this was a problem in 2022. Its not fixed yet! I have used Ufile for many years but this is the last year I will use them. Ugh!
Employee hung up
I used u file first time to navigate the system had 1 question stayed on the phone got an employee could barely speak english and said really fast in broken english what to do and hung up .trying to speak to a supervisor as i paid and cant seem to get through not doing it again

If I could give it zero stars I would! The program automatically completed a schedule 7 for RRSP contribution and claimed an amount that we did not input! It was a small amount but we didn't catch it and submitted with the error. Contacted them and they blamed us, saying we must have made an error on input!

It is horrible
It is horrible - completely confusing. Am I entering my spouse and dependent's actual tax information or am I just including it in my return for information purposes? I tried for ages to find line 32400 - eventually I found some complicated instructions on the web which worked. You are not prompted for anything - you have to find your own way. The help option is useless. Use Google instead.
I have used tax software for years, including most recently Studio Tax and Turbo Tax and it has never been this bad. I wish I had read the reviews before buying UFile
I struggle with 2 of 2 tax returns
I struggle with 2 of 2 tax returns. One bc my mother was a widow and therefor the 3 questions at the end didn’t apply and secondly bc it wanted you to agree to direct deposit and communication via email. I could not agree, so it would not let me file.
For my own there was also a block in terms of moving into the filing process. So frustrated with it. I have been hours at it. Never again!
