Scam! I cancelled my order within 10 minutes and they still shipped it to my house. Now I have to pay 50$ return to China and probably will never get my refund again. Total scam

Beautiful dress, but the sleeves felt a bit too tight.

The item is not as described. Not Cashmere and terrible quality and shape. The is terrible they have loop holes so they advertise returns but the postage costs more than the garment. Misleading.

This business is a total scam. Feel stupid as I usually verify businesses are legit. It does not have an ABN, is not in Melbourne, its in China. Lists a Aust phone number which doesn't exist. Has a policy of cancellation within 24hrs. I attempted to cancel within 5mins of making order, as soon as I realised it was a scam site. Received an email 3hrs later saying it couldn't be cancelled it had been shipped, even though their fake policy states 24hr cancellation. Utter lies. There is no tracking

The dress arrived super fast, which I appreciated, but it was a little tight in the chest. Customer service was helpful and made the return easy.

Velvet Lane’s pieces have a nice minimalist style, but the cotton wrap top I ordered was just okay. The drape is decent and it’s comfortable, though not as impressive as I expected based on the reviews. A few coworkers noticed it, but overall, it didn’t quite wow me.

I usually struggle with fit, but this jumpsuit was perfect right off the rack—no alterations needed. A rare find!

Bought shoes & few winter clothes (jackets) sent wrong size very small quality & material very cheap stuff raised issue with their customer service no response or return or refund just dead silence, they scam people by putting stuff on sale with heavy discounts but actually they not even worth looking at if you see them or feel them personally . so stay away & don’t buy anything at all as they are big crooks….STAY AWAY

WARNING!! Before proceeding to purchase any products from Velvet Lane Boutique, read my review and other reviews. I suspect this is an online scam. They are not following the correct policy and procedures under the Consumer Law. I placed an order believing I was receiving a Cashmere jumper as advertised in words and the photo on VLB website. full price $240.00 but with their closing down sale (which is an urgency sale) the item was $120.00. Upon receiving the jumper, the description does not fit the jumper description online - its a cheap synthetic material, feels like plastic (not Cashmere) and NO labels attached to the jumper. Not of the value, price and quality under the Consumer Law. The jumper I received you could buy maybe for $10.00. Under the Consumer Law A business must not make false or misleading claims about where goods came from, goods must meet these standards to accurately claim a country of origin - There is No labelling on garments, so can't claim where the clothing is from - No promotional material linked to the goods when I received the garment - No claim about country of origin as in picture or words or both - Velvet Lane Boutique haven't adhered to any of the above under the Consumer Law. I have asked via an email for a Full refund - VLB advised that I would have to pay $50 British pounds (as in their writing) which is equivalent to $100 AUD to send back the item to China. Under their Returns policy they wrote to me that it clearly states that returns must be sent back to China, they said it's available on their website and I agreed to this upon my purchase. THIS IS INCORRECT! They do not have this written in their Return policies - no where does it state the words "CHINA". They are providing false and misleading information to the consumers - They are breaking the law with misleading advertising on their website - consumers been mislead about price, quality and value and that the company is in Melbourne as its written "Melbourne EST. 2009". This is the address in China that VLB sent to me to send my item back and for me to pay $100.00 in postage fees.
They are based in China.
I would presume this is where the company is based and not in Melbourne. I have lodged several complaints to relevant authorities in regards to Velvet Lane Boutique potential deceptive conduct.
I would urge that any other consumers whom have been mislead by Velvet Lane Boutique to lodge a complaint to relevant authorises in Australia to do with consumer law. I had the addresses here and phone numbers. Also I had the phone number and address in China where they tell you to send back their cheap and poor quality clothing. They complained to trust pilot I was providing details to identify them. But other consumers can easily find this out. My bank are investigating them as I lodged a complaint. There is so many complaints and reviews saying this company is a scam.

On the Velvet Lane Boutique website I found their contact number (a complaint was lodged that I provided their number I had to remove it , you can find this by searching) but no one answers, it’s just a recorded voice message saying they can't take the call.

Total scam. The product looked nothing like the advertisement; I doubt whether they could have found a cheaper, nastier version of what I ended up with if they had tried. TOTAL SCAM!

The skirt came quickly and looked great, but the sizing was off—tight at the hips. I had to exchange it for a larger size.

This is certainly a scam, DO NOT BUY. They specifically stated on their website that their sizes were the same as any other brand. I ordered size L only to receive size M, and the worst part is that they had cut off the labels from the factory or the shipping centre, so I can't even verify the size of the clothing. Now they want me to pay to return the items or keep them for a discount to shop next time. Who would want to shop there again after such an experience, and how can they expect me to keep items I can't wear for a chance to spend my money with them again. I find that hard to comprehend.

I ordered what I thought were Birkenstock brand sandals as advertised on the website. I also followed this up with an email asking the question if they are actually Birkenstock and received a reply to state that YES they were. They are definitely NOT. In fact, I ordered 2 of the same style and size, just different colours and the sandals were totally different size, quality and style. I was also led to believe that this was an Australian company, only to find out the product came from China. I will continue to follow this through until I get a total refund and free return shipping.

Got a midi dress from Velvet Lane Boutique for a wedding—fit perfectly and was comfy all day. Wore it again to a dinner party. Elegant and easy to wear—definitely a great find!

i am filling application against this company in consumer affairs victoria. They ripped me. Charged me 110 aud for 10 Aud cheap stuff from china. if any one found same issue , please sent your petition to CAV.

Do not purchase from this website they are a scam - products are disgusting.
I purchased a pair of shoe and they smell of rubber.
I should have realised when it took 12 days to arrive. They say they are based in Melbourne.

Appalling company.They claim to be Australian but they are out of China.Offer refunds if done within 24 hours.
This is rubbish as I tried to do it in 1 hour was told too late .Item was not authentic shearling bit synthetic material absolutely not worth the money.
Poorly made.Never ever will I use this company again.
